Stunning like every single time
We had the Wine paring 3 course menu and it was excellent, the wine was brilliantly chosen by the wine waiter and it worked with all the dishes, the service provided by Iulia was excellent. Highly recommended and we will having this menu again.
Booked a table for a double celebration with my husband, excellent food and service, cannot remember having a lunch this memorable. Will be talking about the meal for weeks. Staff gave us an extra touch to our meal as we were celebrating and could not be more helpful. Would love to visit again and try the dinner menu.
The view is very nice and people can take pictures on the 34th floor which is quiet and comfortable. The food especially the beef tastes great and the wine is also good.
Lovely food, spectacular wiew, great service! A place to enjoy both food, view and pleasant atmosphere.
Fantastic location, first class service, good food. Our family of four were there to celebrate our daughter's 16th birthday. We had what I considered to be the best table in the restaurant, with views over Tower Bridge and the river.
Service was very attentive and friendly, but not intimidating or intrusive. The food was good - quality, fresh ingredients, cooked well. My taste buds could have been slightly off that night, but I thought there could have been more flavour in some dishes. My family had no complaints though. The price of food was reasonable. The price of drinks however was a little over the top. My only real criticism is that when I order a glass of XO brandy, I do expect it to arrive in a brandy glass and not a whisky tumbler - a minor detail.
Overall, we had a brilliant experience and would certainly go there again.
A wonderful experience overall, only marred ever so slightly by the unsubtle presentation of our dining bill, which had not been requested. An unsubtle way of saying "do you mind leaving your table so we can fit in another punter". This is not what I would expect from an establishment of this standard. That said, to be fair, we had booked for 18:30 and it was a full two hours when they brought the bill. However, you should NEVER feel hurried at a restaurant of this quality. Especially since I was still ordering expensive cocktails and wine at the time. The staff did a great job of moving us to another table, as an afterthought, since I had made the point quite clearly that I felt we were being hurried, but did have the good grace to enquire as to whether or not the new position they seated us at, was to our liking. They then moved us a second time, after I had responded that I would have much preferred a table in the lounge proper, rather than what looked like the space just off reception with a couple of tables thrown down. Almost like a waiting room area (by the top of the stairs). To be honest, that experience brought into question the sincerity of the staff, which was a shame because Max, our host, was awesome and his recommendations top notch. He clearly has a really good understanding of the menu. Similarly, our wine sommelier was equally knowledgeable and a lovely personality to boot (sorry, don't recall your name). It's just a shame that at the end of the day, my wife and I were made to feel like we were on a conveyor belt.
All of the above said, I would still recommend the restaurant for the food and knowledgeable, friendly staff and of course, the view of London at night.
Oh yes, and I cannot forget how helpful the ladies at reception are. They went above and beyond in trying to ensure that we had a table with a great view, so thank you to them and indeed all who served us.
Note to management - NEVER MAKE YOUR CUSTOMERS FEEL HURRIED.
Great service and great ambiance, was perfect to celebrate a special someones birthday
We had the 3 course lunch with paired wines. Food was delicious and we had a lovely table with a fantastic view of Tower Bridge.
During our meal we had 3 different waitors/waitresess and they all made mistakes. The first one gave us a glas that was water in from the previous gest. The second one gave us hard bread and the third one forgot to refill our butter (we had asked for a refill). All in all- not worth the almost 300 pounds we spend.
Absolutely superb. The tasting menu with wine is a must. The wines perfectly complimented the food and for someone who knows very little about wine it took the headache of choosing away. The staff couldn’t be more attentive and we will certainly be visiting again.
Brilliant food, brilliant service, a good atmosphere and a lovely view. I will be booking up again.
Amazing food , the view was incredible definitely worth the price, room ambience was cosy, service was fantastic and requests were full-filled
Took few minutes to find my reservation, then after about 45 minutes to get the afternoons tea food to be served...waiters were very friendly with our seven years old guest.
The view is, of course, spectacular. Which is why you should go there. But, aside from that, it's mediocre. No attention to detail : the wine waiter tells long stories about the 'notes' (which, by the way, are wrong) and gets the provenances wrong. The food presents well, but is the ingredients are second rate and the seasoning uninteresting. We booked for a birthday and they not only forgot..they forgot they forgot. The view is great, so you put up with the rest.
Great Service. Poor food. And that very expensive.
Go there for a drink. Eat somewhere else.
We had a corner seat for 2...excellent views..very efficient and friendly staff..tasting menu was great as were the wines with each course...lots of different and complimentary flavours...
Will definitely make a return visit
I was really disappointed with the service. It clearly states on booking that for 2 people you have a 2 hour slot. We waited over an hour for our starters and 40 minutes for the main. We were seated by the window so had a good view of London by night but, we were right by the cooking area and so we constantly had the waiters clip clopping back and forth and the chef shouting!! The manager was made aware and moved us but a little to late. This is a high end restaurant whereby I expected a far better service. If it was not for the quality of the food it would have totally spoiled my husbands birthday meal.
Maria was our waitress and she made this an unforgettable experience for my husbands birthday. The food was beyond delicious as always!
We have booked 1 month in advance and request a table near the windows, but we were accommodate
in another inside table, when we complained about it all they can say is I know, poor management I
would definitely not dine in there another time and nevertheless recommend this to another person
Unfortunately, we didn’t get a window seat, which we were prepared for. However, we were seated in the middle of the restaurant in the path of the waiters serving other guests. It wasn’t a great experience. Aside from that, we had to ask for the drinks menu because the waiters forgot to give it. We waited an incredibly long time for the food to arrive. Although we wanted dessert, we weren’t prepared to take the risk of waiting 45mins so left without having it. However, the worst part for us was that we wanted steak. Prior to our booking we had called the restaurant to query whether or not a halal steak could be provided. We were categorically informed yes. At the restaurant, our halal option was limited. The dish we eventually did opt for was ok but not great. The cost wasn’t an issue but it becomes an issue when it feels like money wasted. The waiters focus on 10 different things at once. Every time we conversed they would be speaking to others at the same time. For a high class restaurant, it’s quite uncomfortable to witness a lack of basic etiquette. Extremely disappointed.
Great service, great food, everything was classy. The highlight of the journey to London
Went for our 30th anniversary and we got a prefect seats with a lovely view.
Food was also very nice. X
good food and service a must if your in london onr of the best restaurants i have ever been in
keep up the good work
It was a lovely meal to celebrate an anniversary ggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
wos so good dinner and place but the front ofiece girl seated me at first in avery bad location although there wos a lot of good views tabols !! i dont know why she did somthing like that with me ,,, i asked her to shange the location to another place ,,,she told me the good location is for 3 seats ( she is liying )<< after that i asked waitter his name is crestien and he moved me to another outstanding table for 2 !!!!
Very good Restaurant, a bit on the expensive end but the view is worth it. The service was amazing.
The best view in London, excellent service, and excellent food.
Extremely impressed. The view from the the 35th floor is insanely good. The menu isn’t exhaustive, which is a good thing, and the food is top notch, with deliberate design and meticulous attention to detail, not to mention the perfect balance of flavours — guaranteed to impress. The service is impeccable without being stuffy. Did I mention the view? And if you ask very nicely, you may just be able to get yourself a table up on the 52nd floor lounge bar, to carry on from a perfect meal. Take a date, a business prospect or your partner for a special occasion and you will not fail. But do be prepared for the bill — you pay for what you get.
Food was good but not incredible. Service was very rushed, felt like they wanted us out of there as soon as possible. Main course came before we could even order wine. As a frequent client of this hotels restaurants in difference countries was a little disappointed.
Wonderful experience and will definitely be coming again! Staff were so accommodating
It has great customer service ... just disappointed about them not having lobster ravioli even tho it was on the menu
Stunning views as with all shard restaurants however the service was below par and the fact that half the menu was “sold out” meant that unless you love fish there was very little else on offer. Fairly slow service and having to move table mid meal due to having wine spilt on me was not great either. Overall a very disappointing evening unfortunately as I informed the team. I would have expected some sort of gesture due to the events of the night. Lovely venue in terms of view and decor, however I would not recommend. There are other restaurants that provide a far better service.
Had a great evening and really enjoyed the wine pairings as they were introduced by the server with full explanations. Variety of food was brilliant too.
Went for my boyfriends birthday and couldn’t be more impressed with the whole experience. 10/10 would recommend.
Great hospitality and great customer service. High level of service delivered. Love the stonebass with deep fried octopus. Good main dish to enjoy.
My second visit for lunch and both occasions memorable, the views, food, service outstanding.
Amazing food for my Daughter's 18th Birthday
Cake was Great amazing service
The service is the best I've had for a very long time - even better than several Michelin one stars. They're super attentive, and they tried to arrange for a window seat for us upon request.
However I have to say the food is mediocre - it's not 'wow' but just average. It took 30+ for them to serve our main courses which is a long wait. The starter portion was quite small though.
Overall a good dining experience given the view and the good service. Will come again for special occasions.
