The food was amazing at La Vie! Service was top notch, everyone was so attentive. You can’t beat the view as well.
This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I have been been to! Definitely going back!
Very nice place. It’s expensive but has a great view and good food.
Dinner was very good the view was great. Location is right next to The Anthem. Great place to to before a show
Amazing! Beautifully coordinated. Amazing food! Excellent service!
I absolutely loved everything about this place. The ambiance was great, the food exquisite and dessert was amazing and full of surprises lol(try the cotton candy dessert). This restaurant had such a beautiful view as well.
It's a beautiful restaurant with a great view. We were leery because of a previous bad review...but it was wonderful. We only had appetizers but they were terrific - especially those brussells sprouts and the burrata tomato salad. Definitely would return to try more dishes. We were not there during a normal meal time and service was good.
BEAUTIFUL! Food was incredible and prices are reasonable. We went there for an anniversary brunch, and it was perfect!
Boughie Brunch on the Southwest Waterfront. It began with the view of the river and Haynes Point. The staff was attentive and always there when you needed anything. The meal was freshest ingredients cooked to perfection. From smoked salmon and shrimp cocktail to the short rib hash... Delicious.. DC Sunday brunch at its best.
Our experience was absolutely terrible. The waiter was very rude, did not introduce himself. Ignored us for our entire stay, had other individuals driver our food. He brought us food and then told us that there was an item in the meat my husband was allergic to. We are never coming back!
The view was well designed to showcase the waterfront, but the other dining rooms have their own special appeal as well. The food was really well prepared and nicely plated - definitely try the octopus! Our server, Leo, was very friendly and offered excellent recommendations. The only bad part was one of our guests got very sick within 3 hours of eating!
La Vie was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday! The ambiance, the service (Andy was great by the way), the food, drinks and dessert were amazing. La vie did not disappoint and I will suggest this restaurant to anyone. Also, the outdoor bar area has amazing views of the harbor. Thank you for making my birthday special! :)
This was my second visit to La Vie, the place is nice so I returned back with some family members but sadly we didn't have the best service that evening, the person took our order kept making mistakes and took so long to bring the drinks. I'm not sure if service we had that happened during our visit or it's a common issue. I will think twice before I go back to La Vie.
I was out with a friend from work, just for drinks and a bite at the bar. Excellent drinks, bartender attentive, crowd friendly and seriously the best Seafood Misto I have ever had. I order this everywhere, so I am sure it is THE BEST!! I will definitely go to LaVie again for a full dining experience. Just excellent!
My reservation for 5:30 didn't go through, no big deal right? No, hostess didn't offer to to ahead and seat us so we walked out to their patio bar. We actually wanted to sit and eat so I rebooked for 5:45. We go baxk to the Hostess and it was all the 2 of them could do was actually speak and be courteous. I said I booked a hightop, one gal rudely said "we don't have any hightop seating". I said well, tell Open Table that. One finally sat us. Then no less than 6-8 servers were walking around, several looked at us, but no one came over. After 10 min waiting, we got up and left.
My first time and the atmosphere has a great vibe and is just very pretty and chic! I enjoyed my food and brunch cocktail. My server was awesome...I forgot her name, but she took great care of us and I felt very welcomed :)
Our server, Miguel, was fantastic. The cauliflower and kale appetizers were a triumph.
The food or drinks are over priced. Guess we are paying for the view as well.
The restaurant atmosphere was fantastic - great view and service!
We loved the food but didn’t love the champagne upsell attempt. The waiter said they were out of the $60 dollar gotten but had one for $146, when we declined, magically he found the $60 bottle. Otherwise great experience.
We had a dinner reservation but it was a nice night so we opted to order from the happy hour menu on the outside patio instead. Drinks were yum (frozen creamsicle something . . . ) and we really enjoyed the food very much - we ordered everything from the HH snack menu except for the oysters. Everything was delicious!
Over priced and food was awful
Large, open space with separate tables, bar areas, and lounge areas. Variety of menu items and attention to detail.
Overall, this was a great restaurant and experience! The restaurant seemed moderately filled when we were there although service was a bit slot. Our food and drinks were pretty amazing! We had to ask 2 different people for salt before actually getting it. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, seems to have a nice bar program, and the food was delicious!
Provided the perfect ambiance for my boyfriends birthday. We waited for our table in the outside bar with beautiful views then ate some delicious food with a surprise cake from our waiter. A perfect night to celebrate.
I absolutely loved and enjoyed my time at La Vie it’s super upscale and classy. Amazing service and sense of security with all the security posted throughout the location. I look forward to coming back.
Beautiful restaurant. Great view of the area. Food was great as well.
We had a 8:30p reservation which we arrived for at 8:10p. We were told the table wasn’t ready for 30mins which was fine. I went back to the hostess 35 mins later and they again said the table is not ready should be 30 mins. We waited 1 hr and 10 mins. For a place that advertises as business casual and “not good for kids” there was three people dressed as business casual and multiple tables with kids running around. Everyone one else was in shorts and t shirts.
This is a beautiful space with a lovely view. Problem with the view is that many of the window tables will have at least one person with their back towards to the view. Service was slow and we had to look for our waiter several times. We had gone through a glass of wine and finished our appetizer before he even came back to the table to take our order. The portions are just the right size (don't expect any leftovers). The 'sea' options do not come with a side and are pretty steep at $11 while they are a shareable size. The wine prices on the menu did not match up with prices on their wine list. The bottle we got was $15 more on the wine list then it was on the menu and we, of course, were charged that higher amount. They do have an outdoor bar area which is very nice. It is a shame they couldn't have an expanded area to offer outdoor dining as an option. It really is a beautiful space though and worth a visit.
This restaurant was highly recommended by a friend--so my expectations were HIGH...We visited the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon (a 4:30 reservation). Upon arrival, we were seated immediately in a beautiful table near the window with an amazing view. We sat there for way too long before someone came over with water. Again, we sat there waiting another 15-20 minutes--I waived down someone asking if he knew where our server was. He said he could take our order for the appetizer. The appetizer was delivered; yet, still no server. We enjoyed the appetizer. Again, we are waiting to see if anyone heads in our direction...Finally, another random person came near our table and he took our order. After our food was delivered, one server took interest in our table and asked how our meal was. I assume she was our server, but I have no idea since she never introduced herself or anything. Let me just say that the food was delicious and the restaurant is lavish. However, the service SUCKED. I'm definitely not accustomed to dining in an upscale restaurant and receiving such poor service. This experience definitely left a bad taste in my mouth and I doubt that I would ever dine here again.
The big front room was glamorous, views are great. Happy hour menu was not available at tables, which is not clear on the website, and disappointing as we expected to spend somewhat less for the occasion. Food was bland. I think the best dish we had was the brussel sprouts.
Really perfect. A gem overlooking the Potomack!
We went there to celebrate my birthday, me and a friend got very sick the next day...
I ordered the lamb and she ordered steak they both arrived cold so they took them and heat them up!!! when we wanted to order a desert they said that the kitchen is closed!! It was my birthday and I couldn’t even order a desert i wanted!!! When I called the next day to complain, they apologize and offer to send a gift certificate, which never arrived!! I called again after 3 weeks and they say they will call me back still waiting!!! It’s really nice restaurant but the food makes you sick and the service it not worth what you pay!!!!
Nice relaxing spot with great views and attentive service
The food was mediocre, the drinks (a hot coffee and an iced coffee) were very watered down and delivered without anything to stir, and the oysters were filled with ice and water. While our water glasses were always refilled promptly, and things were quickly cleaned off, it took forever to get the attention to place our orders and get the check.
I had egg shell AND lobster shell in my benedict. This is the principle, basic of the basic, should never happen.
Food was so delicious, but service was subpar.
I enjoyed the place with my wife, I would go there again soon.
Great food, and though the service was a bit slow they were very busy and our waiter made a GREAT suggestion (the French Mussel Pot) that although my date and I were dubious about, we wound up enjoying very much.
We went to La Vie for a birthday dinner and it was phenomenal. From Millie the hostess, to our waitress (I forgot her name!) to Andre the bartender, to the stunning sunset views and delicious food - everything was fantastic. We really enjoyed the La Vie En Rose cocktail, the truffle gnocchi is rich and flavorful without being too heavy (not to be missed), and the brussel sprouts were crispy and tangy. We never felt rushed, everything was just perfect.
