The Britannia Richmond
Friday: 12pm - 9:30pm
Saturday: 12pm - 9:30pm
Sunday: 12pm - 9pm
We ate here before heading to Twickenham for the rugby. The food was great and the service came with a smile. Not my first time here, and certainly not my last!
Continue to be one of my favourites..
Outstanding food and service..
As always another wonderful meal at The Britannia. This time we went for the Sunday roast and it was an absolute cracker! Plates were cleaned and we were happy. The service always goes above and beyond.
I've met friends many times at The Britannia for lunch and always enjoyed it. This was the first time I had been for dinner, the food was the same high standard, very friendly and attentive service. We were a party of 7 and had a table upstairs where there was a lively atmosphere in keeping with Friday night. One of my guests was celebrating her Birthday and she was very well looked after
First visit, outstanding meal. Definitely visit again when next in Richmond.
Friendly, good choice, frequent menu change, relaxed
Great food, quality wine, very friendly service and fun atmosphere. Would recommend it for a Sunday lunch with friends
Fab evening out with a friend as always the meal was excellent, tasty and well seasoned. Seasonal food at a great price, well cooked and well presented, excellent service and great atmosphere.
We really enjoyed our meal. The food was extremely tasty, the service was very friendly and attentive.
Lovely little pub down a tiny street in central Richmond. Beautifully kept and furnished, excellent service and staff and good range of food. We ordered 11 courses between four people (yes, we take food very seriously!) and every dish was well cooked, well thought out and well presented. Beer was also very well kept. Loos were spotless. There is a pretty garden, but it was a bit too cold to sit outside.
We were seated near their stinking toilets and when I asked to be moved they obliged but we could still smell the filthy toilets throughout the meal. I mentioned that they should clean their toilets to two separate staff member, one of whom was the manager, and they just looked at me and did nothing.
I'm actually surprised that the health authority hasn't been on to them.
Two water glasses had to be returned because they were so dirty (actually encrusted with lumps of matter).
I wouldn't set foot in this place again and was really embarrassed that I had taken my friends to this place.
Amazing last minute booking. The service was excellent. Food, fantastic. Great value for money. Would highly recommend.
Superb local pub lost in the alley ways of Richmond. Great sun trap beer garden and fantastic staff. Ordered three starters and five mains and all eight dishes delivered.
Great food and atmosphere. Busy in the bar but the upstairs restaurant was a retreat to be able to talk but still great atmosphere,
Great food, lovely ambience and really friendly service
Good pub. Overall helpful and friendly staff (forgot a drinks order). Booked a table but the manger asked if we would like to stay where we were drinking and eat in the bar, which was thoughtful. Food good and tasty and wine choice good. Ale choice limited. Only poor part was the coffee, which was really weak.
The Britannia is outstanding, in my view the best pub food in Richmond.
Been a few times. First time for a Sunday roast and I was really impressed. Would recommend
This was our second visit and it lived up to and surpassed our expectations. Great service, good choice of wines and beers and some excellent dishes. A really great experience.
We had a lovely meal. The staff were very attentive and looked after us well. We'll definitely eat there again!
A must-try, exquisite food and ambience, friendly and attentive staff. All on the roof top terrace.. Amazing. Thank you!
A friendly welcome at the outset. Staff were engaging and helpful and the service was great. It's a pub, so decor was basic, but the food, it was fantastic. Everything cooked perfectly and piping hot. I would recommend to anyone
Britannia is lovely spot in Richmond on an alley off the main street. Wonderful staff and superb food. Splendid garden area and separate rooftop terrace is tastefully decorated to create a casual yet elegant setting to enjoy an excellent meal.
A good gourmet pub, in a small bylane in Richmond near the green. Place was lively as it was a Saturday evening. The food was good & the waitress was good at her job , very cheerful & very prompt in getting the orders etc. We had ordered oysters for starters & then Salt Marsh lamb for mains, hake in white wine sauce. All the items were good n the portions were big. Overall it was a good evening with good food & a reasonable wine list. It was also good value for money.
Great pub in Richmond. Fun atmosphere. Friendly service. Slightly chaotic but very amiable. Probably could add an extra vegetarian option in but the crab, steaks, risotto were all good.
For a Gastro Pub in Richmond it was small and crowded with very basic tableware but the food was excellent & the service very good.
Basics done very well. High quality menu options. Very tasty and tender steaks and a chocolate tart to die for!
The only thing to improve is the beer selection. Doom Bar is pretty dire and there are a lot of better ales out there! The Butcombe was really good
The food was lovely and the staff friendly and attentive. Great tunes, too.
They went above and beyond to help ensure my mother who is in a wheelchair was well looked after. There is a step to get into the pub, but the guys always helped us either get in or get out with ease. Thank you.
There were quite a few dishes that we would have opted for but they were off the menu. We were going to see a show and our server was very quick to get us served once we explained that we had a short time frame. She was very sorry that the food we had chosen was off the menu and offered us both complimentary tea or coffee. Lovely evening on the rooftop terrace.
I love this place - a really lovely local pub - I keep going back! The staff are friendly and attentive, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is cosy and elegant. Good value for money and every meal has been excellent. I don't often write reviews, but I highly recommend!
Excellent roast dinner, will be back.
I've lived in and around the area for years but never been. What a waste of a great venue! We'll be back soon, the food was excellent, the outside terrace was a bonus on a lovely, hot day and the staff couldn't have been friendlier.
This was another visit to The Britannia Richmond with another group of friends. Again, we all thoroughly enjoyed the food, cocktail and wine. I love this place - it's a hidden gem (shhhh) - it's not on the river but provides outdoor dining spaces in terms of a terrace and a garden. The garden is a dog-friendly place but if you don't like dogs, the dog owners to date all seem to have well-trained dogs so they won't bother you. There is an excellent level of service and attention to detail. The menu is varied providing options for meat eaters, seafood lovers and vegetarians and it provides more than your standard fare as well as some classics.
Excellent food in a beautiful terrace garden. Staff were attentive and fun, especially the manager Richard who made our party feel very welcome. The wine list was very good and well looked after. Will look forward to coming back. Set meal was £23 for three courses. Excellent value.
This is my favorite pub/restaurant in Richmond. I have never had a bad experience, the food is delicious, the staff is attentive friendly and helpful. Dominic runs the show and puts a smile on every face. The atmosphere is cozy, buzzing and it is located in a very lovely part of Richmond near the Green. Highly recommend you visit it, all people that I recommended have been back several times. Well done Britannia!! A very happy customer :)
Fantastic service. 6 of us for Sunday Lunch. Unfortunately the roast beef was raw and cold, but the staff were very gracious about dealing with this, and our drinks were refilled to make up for this. Loved the asparagus appetiser, but the chicken liver pate was extremely offaly. Give the profiteroles a miss - dry and cardboard-like, but the meringue was nice.
Service was exceptional. Very diligent around food allergies.
Booked table for pre cinema at 6.45. Bar downstairs busy with good atmosphere.
My partner arrived first and was immediately welcomed by the manager. I was soon after and we were immediately shown to a lovely large table on the first floor outside terrace.
Great service with a smallish but very well chosen menu, same can be said of the wine list.
Very good quality food, beautifully presented. All freshly prepared.
Wines very reasonably priced.
Altogether a great experience and will definitely return and recommend.
Nice garden space to the rear & very convenient for pre-theatre meal.
