Stanley's Bar & Grill
At the risk of sounding a little over the top, Stanley’s Bar and Grill is like a theatre of food where you have been given front row seats and a chance to meet the stars beforehand. Open kitchens allow you to watch a team who just love preparing your food, however this is not pretentious dining In Stanley’s bar and Grill service is about a smile, whether family dining at the big table or time out on the terrace with a table for one you get to choose. This is the life we have created at Stanley’s and we invite you to join us.

Unique atmosphere, warm and friendly, food was lovely as was the breakfast
Great place to dine or just having drinks. Nice ambiance with friendly staff.
Fantastic service and great food. Would happily come back again
The meal was spoilt. By poor level of service provided by a waiter.
A reasonable evening with pleasant food apart from the humous was a little bland. Unfortunately service was very poor and due to staff members calling in sick (the manager told me) a virtually untrained member of staff was waiting on. Seemed like a nice girl but no idea of the needs of customers - orders went missing, wrong drinks brought, no steak knife for the steak, no offer if desserts or coffee. In fact went completely AWOL when we were due to pay and had apparently gone to cry due to presumably feeling the stress of not k owing what she was doing. Poor thing. Also, aside from the waitress, the tables as particulalry close to other diners.
Service was a bit hit and miss. Drink order was forgotten and service was slow. Food was good.
Good food, good service worth a visit if you haven’t been
The food at Stanley’s is sublime!! Atmospheric setting with all the mod cons, it was an absolute pleasure to eat here. The service could not be faulted and the quality of the food presented was truly amazing. We will definitely return.
Great atmosphere , lovely food and great service .
Food was tasty but the service was extremely slow and disjointed as we were served by several members of staff during our meal they appeared short staffed and disorganised
the manager was apologetic but there were a lot of staff around but they appeared disorganised
We felt disappointed at the standard of service in such a lovely setting
Really nice food! Reccommend gunpowder chicken and sticky toffee pudding
Very Pleasant venue, i took my partner to Liverpool for her a weekend for her 30th Birthday and wanted to find somewhere nice to take her out just to spoil her really, the food and the drinks are really nice, the staff are friendly, the restaurant were clean, everything was well presented,
As for Value for money, i would not say it is great for value for money, but has to be said that the food and the service was worth the price, but if you are looking for anything cheap, you will not find it here, certainly good for a one off treat once or twice a year for a loved one though.
They have a Vegan menu but it is not great in my (husband's) opinion. They do however do a great steak.... for those of you who are not (married to a) Vegan!
Fantastic place to eat, the most polite staff we have ever come across. Definitely be returning soon
Booked an early dinner, was at the venue 1 hour earlier, luckily we were as bar service was very slow . Meal and service was very good ,although we would have liked to have been in the room were you can see the chef's, as there was a football team staying this was out of bounds with a gate across the entrance with two suited bouncers on the gates ,not really conducive to a nice atmosphere.
I was in Liverpool it’s my parents to celebrate there anniversary. We wanted somewhere with good food and wine but in a relaxed and interesting environment. The Stanley Bar and Grill was perfect. So much so we stayed longer than intended and ended up missing the military tattoo we had booked for the evening.
A place I will return to.
Contemporary design bar, friendly staff, food good little over priced but tasty, not an extensive menu but usual favourites such as fish & chips, Thai curry, sticky toffee pudding.
You have to pay for parking but there is free roadside parking. Staff presented me with special birthday pud which was a nice touch. Popular for afternoon tea.
Would go again.
We booked Stanley’s for a birthday meal. The food was lovely and we enjoyed the cocktails in the rum bar. Unfortunately the service wasn’t great. We were seated for about 15 minutes before we were asked if we’d like a drink. After we had finished dessert no one came to ask if we’d like coffee etc and we did wait for some time. Eventually we gave up and had to find someone so we could pay the bill. They may have been short staffed that evening but we felt our experience wasn’t as good as it should have been. However if we stayed at the hotel again we would probably return and hope for better service.
Excellent location. Spotless and great atmosphere. Staff were great very attentive and pleasant.
Staff v attentive. Beautiful location. Good delicious inc surprise ‘Happy Anniversary’ dessert. Thank you so much.
Lovely meal, we had 3 course sunday lunch and it was delicious. Lovely staff, really enjoyed. Good value for money too. £27.00 for 3 courses, of high quality food.
Excellent overall but my steak which was tender, but sinewy. Other than that had a great meal and would recommend it!
Poor customer service and attitude from workers. Lovely place as well.
Everything was very good!!!
An amazing lunch with friends an a beautiful afternoon on the waterfront. Superb cocktails preceded an excellent lunch which has something for everyone on the menu. since there were 8 of us, we were given a round table for 8 in its own area which was perfect. The service was attentive without being intrusive and we really liked the fact that all 8 meals were served together at the same time. We will definitely be back and possibly have a stay over too as we would like to spend more time in the great atmosphere. Thank you
Great setting and great food, just a little over priced for what it was, however, I would certainly stay and dine again here
Booked for our 1st wedding anniversary as we had our wedding reception in the rum warehouse! Lovely touched by the staff for our anniversary which made our evening that little bit more special! Waitress was really friendly and attentive! Food was amazing as always, will defiantly be returning.
Gorgeous place to eat, cocktails were fantastic, food was out of this world and our server was fantastic, lovely guy. We had an amazing time. Would highly recommend.
We had a lovely evening. Family celebration where everyone enjoyed their meal and service was excellent. We finished the evening off with coffee in the hotel lounge listening to very entertaining music. A lovely evening.
Lovely restaurant but not so lovely food. Very over priced for what it is, I paid £20 for a main that was tiny and the taste was not worth the price at all. I was still very hungry afterwards so had to eat elsewhere too.
Lovely meal with family. Nice quiet surroundings with good attentive service
Beautiful venue but felt the menu let it down- very small selection so it felt like a hotel restaurant rather than one in its own right. Expected more and glad to have tried it but won’t be in a rush back
Great food in a lovely environment. Waiter was really lovely. Not Michelin starred cuisine but that’s not what we wanted or expected and you pay for what you get! Just good tasty food. Would definitely recommend.
Not enough staff, consequently too much waiting for service or attention. Also in my case, despite when ordering requesting that the salmon should not be be overcooked, it was indeed served so and was therefore tough. It was replaced, and the second attempt was significantly better, but the time taken was excessive meaning that I was left to eat my meal after my wife had finished hers. We ate on other nights in this restaurant, and on one evening had to return a steak as medium rare rump was served virtually raw. This was handled with professionalism from an attentive waiter called John, and I thank him for looking after us well on that night. We feel that although this restaurant appears capable of producing good food it is somewhat of a lottery, especially as it may well have waited a significantly long time after cooking before actually being served at the table. They have the potential to make this a very good restaurant but need especially to improve on their service attention at times.
We booked the table for our first anniversary but didn’t feel very romantic, not enough variety on the menu and bland food. Quite disappointed and we also had breakfast the next day which was very disappointing the bacon was rock hard the sausages were bland and mass produced, the mushrooms were slimy and the tomatoes were tasteless.
Fantastic food and quick. No sitting for ages waiting for your next course. Service and menu knowledge and advice from waiter John was impeccable. Friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely return and recommend to others.
It was a fantastic food, service and fun
The staff made us feel very welcome and were very attentive. The food, whilst good, was not, we felt, outstanding for the price that we paid. I would say that the starters were better value than the main courses and desserts.
Love the dining room. Decor is really attractive, giving it a nice vibe. Derelict building next door isn’t pretty but doesn’t put you off eating.
Service was Goodish. Our young server was only into day 2 of her job but she started off well then got a bit mixed up later when the wine, sauces and mustard were a bit late coming.
Food, sadly, was typical pub food cooked alright but nothing special. My medium steak took some chewing! We had probably by the lunch we had elsewhere earlier that day.
Would I go again? Probably. I love the place and enjoy being there with a quality glass of rum. Would be more careful choosing what I had next time.
