Founded in 1993 by the Pounds family, Harry’s is still independently owned and run today. The eclectic restaurant, bar and private dining room all sit within the iconic gothic style building, formerly Harry Hems’ 19th century architectural sculptors workshop.

We had a fabulous meal here. Menu choice was varied and everything our table of 4 ordered was delicious. Looking forward to returning.
Real find! Loved everything about this place, ambience, food and staff. Happily recommend 😊
Excellent overall. Good choice of food and drink from varied menu. Very friendly and efficient service. Although living outside the local area, will definitely return and recommend to others.
Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch at Harry's. Lots of choice on the menu to suit everyone and not too expensive! We all had the cauliflower soup to start with and it was delicious! The waitress was excellent, very attentive.
We have been dining in Harry’s since they opened and we have never been disappointed and the staff are just great!
Beautiful restaurant with relaxed atmosphere, great food, and very professional and pleasant staff.
We had a great lunch here to celebrate a birthday. The environment was a relaxed , attractive, bistro style. Service was excellent and our steaks all perfectly cooked and delicious. Forgot to order a peppercorn sauce but that was not a problem and a sauce was quickly provided. Vegetable sides were all good as was the G&T to start and wine with lunch. We will definitely be back.
Fabulous steaks and lovely atmosphere, would definitely recommend this restaurant
Good all round experience - great food and refurbishment excellent
Fantastic - will definitely be back soon !
Plenty of choice and food was amazing (even the other dishes to neighbouring tables looked great !!)
Amazing for a special occasion, yet a bit pricey otherwise. Saying that our food wa very delicouse so nothing to complain about there, especialy the garlic bread! Staff where a bit too fast when we were deciding food coming up to us more than 4 times before we were ready but other than that brillint.
Overall very lovely evening. Very friendly staff. Had a burger would have maybe liked it cooked a little more as quite pink inside.
Very nice restaurant though
The food and service were exceptional, but unfortunately a very large table of about 14 people came in and the acoustics meant that we were unable to hear each other talking without shouting. The people on the table next to us asked to be moved because it was so noisy.
We will book and go again, but will probably ask if there are any large tables booked in and avoid that evening.
The sweet potato and bean chilli was lovely and we were very kindly given a glass of wine as it was our anniversary. Staff were lovely and couldn't apologise enough about the noise.
We enjoyed a family meal here mid-week. This is a popular venue and I'm not surprised. There was a slight issue with the power, which made it darker than usual but candles added to the ambiance. The food was good, as were the cocktails and we struggled with the 'heart-attack' dessert!! Highly recommend dinner here.
Fantastic evening. The staff and food were both brilliant, couldn't fault it.
Would highly recommend.
Arrived 30 minutes early and table was all set and ready for us. Super friendly & polite staff. Food was perfect. Thoroughly enjoyable meal.
A very good restaurant , I went for breakfast but excellent
Warm and friendly welcome. Attentive service. Tasty breakfast, and very accommodating for special dietary requirements. We'll definitely be going again!
Ambiance and feeling - if you are in Exeter you should get yourself here!
Very enjoyable meal, great cocktails, lovely staff
We had a very nice meal, with good service. Nice atmosphere. One of my favourite restaurants. Would definitely recommend it.
Great food and Service
My daughter enjoyed the food and felt the lively atmosphere was great as did I except my food was poor. This restaurant makes a play on its Mexican food. It is not that good, the chicken filling for the fajitas was supposed to be on a sizzling hot metal dish, it wasn't and was cold by the end of the dish. Also, a minor element, there were supposed to be four fajita breads but only three were given. Crab rarebit starter was good as were the pop corn prawns. This is not of the quality Harry's seems to be striving for, lets hope this was just an off evening.
Ambience and food very good. Unfortunately we were sat near the coffee machine which was rather noisy.
The service was very slow our waiter seemed to be very new, no doubt employed at half term and on a very steep learning curve. This we understood but should have been overseen to make sure all was well.
On this occasion our first visit it did not matter too much as we were on a leisurely lunch. But could have been a problem.
Will definitely visit again and have already recommended to friends.
Top class food, but stuff could be more allive in place like This
Great food and a lovely atmosphere. Good service and decently priced. Well worth a visit - will definitely return 😀
very very pleasant evening had a wonderful time with my partner for our first dinner out together, not much variety on drinks but from the drinks given very tasteful and unique
Worked well for lunch prior to Munster v Exeter match. Good food and value
Great brunch birthday treat!
Loved the Aussie breakfast!
We were seated by the door on a cold evening but were able to move when we said it was too cold to sit there-so we were happy with this.
Service was very prompt and we were not rushed even though it was a very busy Saturday night.
Steaks and burgers we were very tasty, the fish cake not so good. Great starters, side dishes and desserts.
Would definitely return.
Amazing food love Harry’s.
Food is always tasty, fresh and hot.
Good menu choice and amazing desserts.
Our Fav restaurant in Exeter, never disappoints! Atmosphere is good, food exceptional as is the service.
Our son has just started at Exeter Uni, his name is Harry so we thought we would give the restaurant a go. We weren’t disappointed lovely food, great service. We will definitely return and recommend to our friends.
Food remains as good (and good value) as ever, but more more plush and comfortable since the recent revamp. Great venue for an evening out.
Wonderful food and great service
We regularly come and each time food is to a night standard
Excellent meal in great surroundings and served by friendly and helffull staff. Will visit again when in Exeter
Great food and service. It’s was very busy but it was perfect.
Not the first time we have been and it was lovely to be back.
It’s changed a little and the specials board has gone which is a shame.
Nevertheless, another lovely dining experience.
Went for a 21st birthday meal and it was our first time eating at Harry's, will definitely be going back! A really good range of vegetarian options which are often hard to come by, huge portions of food, definitely good value for money! The staff were absolutely lovely and very chatty, will be returning soon.
Really good atmosphere. New decor is very good. Food was excellent. Service excellent and friendly.
