Travel down historic Market Street towards the Riverfront in Wilmington, Delaware and you will find La Fia Bistro. La Fia is an intimate dinner destination in a historic building located on the corner of 5th and Market. Chef Dwain Kalup's menu utlizes carefully sourced ingredients reflecting the seasons, local region and local farms. The menu at La Fia features small plates, pastas and creative entrees. Our cheese and charcuterie is one of a kind and not to be missed!

It was unbearably hot in the restaurant. There was a small rotating fan blowing for a few tables but it never pointed in our direction. The food was good but the entire experience was ruined by how uncomfortable we were. 1 of the 4 of us even had to step outside for10 minutes to take a break from the heat. I hoped at one point to get water to cool off but the sparse amount of ice melted almost immediately. Normally we would have had coffee with dessert, but never even considered under the circumstances. I don’t know if it was a conscious choice to not have air conditioning or if it was broken, but if it was broken we should have been called earlier in the day in case we wanted to cancel our reservation or at least told when we arrived.

A delight as always. Staff directed us to a stunning Valpolicella. Best informed and most personable wait staff anywhere. Food and cocktails are uniformly good.

Outstanding food was creatively presented. Enjoyed everything and the highlights were the beignets, squid ink radiatori and branzino. Deserts are all fantastic and the wine selection is top notch. Will be back!

We had the Wednesday night prix fixe menu. All was superb including our Market Manhattans w the warm rosemary focaccia! We had the following: crispy duck confit and shrimp toast for starters; bucatini alla gricia and the porcini-rubbed hanger steak cooked to a perfect med-rare; for dessert the chocolate entremet cake and pistachio cake! It was the perfect birthday celebration. Service and food and cocktails were all spot on and amazing!

We love La Fia . Chef Dwain is amazing. We’ve followed him for years. Our server was the bartender, Diego. He was knowledgeable, with helpful suggestions and the perfect amount of attention.
