Lovely evening. Great staff. Good is always better than expected. :-)
We had the sharing platter, olives, bread skinny fries and cheese cake to follow. The cheese cake wasn’t to my taste very gritty but everything else was very good. Organic Prosecco also good.
We had a great meal, absolutely perfect. We ate quite late in the afternoon so very quiet in the restaurant.
Service was quick and efficient. Very enjoyable and will return.
Delicious food and lovely staff. Would highly recommend!
The sharing platter was delicious, especially the scotch egg. Would love the recipe!
Great service, lovely lovely food, staff very helpful, my only slight complaint is the toilets weren’t very well kept.
Service not great on 2 occasions - manager quite offish when complained - food fairly good but expensive for what it is.
Absolutely amazing food - I just don't know how they come up with the flavours. I love that the food is fancy but the feel of the restaurant is smart casual. Lovely, friendly staff. Great for special occasions.
Staff helpful chatty charming
Gave good advice on what to eat
Nice food at Sunday lunchtime with imaginative and tasty choices. Clear menu with options for vegans and those with allergies. Service was friendly and efficient perhaps even too speedy with no gap between courses to chat. Could have felt more leisurely and relaxed for Sunday lunch. Tables quite closely packed in and ours was behind delivery door so no view for people watching which is part of the fun.
I had been to the restaurant before but this time the selection of food & the actual food was disappointing.
Unfortunately one dish was cold when served as were the chips 🍟 although this was dealt with extremely quickly and compensation was given re chocolates to share and a free glass of wine
Great options for vegans and nice choice on menu. However food quality wasn't great - chips were undercooked, halloumi and mushroom burger was ok, but not worth the high price. Range of ice-cream flavours was vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, so not much choice there.
Lovely food, overall a good option, interesting menu, well presented
Very enjoyable evening and lovely food. Staff were excellent, our waitress was particularly friendly. The 'Birthday girl' on our table was made to feel special. Good to have a vegetarian menu. Although we do not live in the area we will return to this restaurant when next in Brighton.
Amazing food, great service. Lovely decor, a very good night for us.
Food For Friends never disappoints! Always friendly staff and ambience but most importantly incredible food. Veggie and vegan options available and they make dietary requirements (e.g. gluten free) clear on the menu. Great for date nights and special occasions. I've taken my partner for her birthday two years in a row now and we always have a great experience.
Good, but not as good as I remember. Food was good but not great, service ok but rushed for food slow for drinks. Was one of my best. Now fab but not sparkling
Fabulous food, great atmosphere and helpful and friendly staff. Great for vegetarians but one of our party is a carnivore who also thoroughly enjoyed her meal. Would definitely go again.
Food was superb. Our waitress, a blonde girl wearing a black high neck jumper, was lovely-very helpful and polite. Can’t wait to go again!
Great vegetarian food, plenty of variety. Not cheap but always busy.
Lovely place, food and service was excellent! The vibe was amazing for a chilled out evening
Always love Food for Friends however on this visit the menu was much smaller and my curry lacked the usual complex flavours.
Very good, with a friendly and attentive waitress. My wife had eaten here with our daughter a few weeks previously and wanted to return. Despite the fact that I am not, by nature, a vegetarian I enjoyed by curry. Our party of four enjoyed the meal and the ambience.
We were so impressed with this restaurant! Beautifully presented food, relaxed atmosphere, and friendly and attentive servers. Well-balanced flavours, good portion sizes. A thoroughly lovely dining experience for myself and 16 year old daughter (I'm vegan, she's vegetarian).
Great restaurant with tasty food and helpful staff. Would absolutely recommend
We were recommended by a vegetarian friend though we are not vegetarian ourselves. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals which were tasty and filling. The atmosphere is very pleasant and although it is a small restaurant, the different rooms help to spread diners out. The staff were very friendly and attentive and looked after us very well.
Great food and lovely atmosphere
I searched online for a vegetarian restaurant, for a friends birthday, this one caught my eye, firstly because of its name. It was well worth the two and a half hour, stuck in traffic on m25 drive! Thank goodness! Wobbly table aside, the food was fabulous! I would definitely recommend the share platter. A firework of flavours in my mouth! Not being a vegetarian myself, i certainly didn’t notice the absence of meat. Perfectly satisfied, with plentiful portions. Friendly staff, complimentary water. Even a delightful touch of a birthday greeting on the dessert plate. Lovely afternoon, will definitely be visiting again, but will travel by train next time, so I can taster the cocktails!
Very good food and a pleasure to be there. I would heartily recommend.
Menu selection more limited than usual plus very annoying child next to us but service consistent
Extremely good waitress in both service and temperament, quiet table as requested and beside window. Very relaxed atmosphere. A friend who was with me was so pleased with everything requested to visit again next day. Thanks again to Good for Friends for an enjoyable experience.
Lovely food but quite noisy. Shame businesses opposite have closed down as it is not a very picturesque view out of the window!
Really lovely evening, welcoming and cheerful staff. Food was fantastic.
Having previously enjoyed dining at Food for friends I am disappointed to write a bad review however, the experience on my recent visit was poor. We were dining early and were among the first customers of the evening and I assume that the kitchen had little to do. This resulted in the Waitress asking to place our mains barely 5mins after our starters had arrived. When we declined she held them in the kitchen but as soon as she spotted we had finished out starters they were placed. We took our time eating as we were trying to digest our food but still had completed dining within 40mins of arrival and had over half a bottle of wine to finish. I commented to the waitress how disappointed we were and she said there was a new chef and his timings were a bit off. There was no offer of a apology from the manager or indeed any response to an email I sent to the restaurant. Not what I would expect from such a well established restaurant. Maybe leave visiting until the chef has worked out his timings!
This is a restaurant which shows how flavoursome vegetarian cooking can be.
Lovely staff and food! Was in Brighton and seen good reviews so booked...worth a visit for sure!
I love food for friends for it’s inventive flavours and great vegan options. Everyone I take here, regardless of their diet, has a great meal and wants to go back.
Exceptional tastes. Wish I had tried here before as even though I am not vegetarian it was great. Desserts were to die for. Scotch egg with delicious mayo was a really great surprise.
The restaurant was very good and the waitresses were all very nice. There was a nice selection of food with them all being vegetarian. I would highly recommend it, and will be going again.
