Booked the Huxley for my son’s 18th family meal. There was around 12 of us, and everyone enjoyed their meals, they were never short of drinks, staff are really friendly and it was an overall lovely experience.

I always love having lunch at The Huxley and it never disappoints. It’s great getting a table by the window and this is rarely a problem as they have so many window tables. Staff are all lovely and very polite and attentive. Strongly recommend…

Amazing atmosphere, amazing food, amazing service, amazing cocktails! Was perfect, we were there for our first meal on our honeymoon they did a congratulations in white chocolate with meringue and chocolates presented on a slate. Can't thank them enough! The server andrew was ace as was everyone 👍

Great place to have breakfast, in the centre of Edinburgh. Friendly staff and lovely food. We had the 'full Scottish' breakfast, which didn't disappoint. The bacon was deliciously smoky, the two different types of sausage were very tasty and succulent, the black pudding delicate yet spicy, the potato 'scone' was a tasty revelation, and my first haggis was a very pleasant surprise. With a choice of poached, fried or scrambled egg, fried tomato and mushroom - thankfully there was not a baked bean or hash brown in sight! My only criticism would be the egg was served on the toast - rather than toast to the side, and the toast was a bit hard to cut - but that was a very small thing. Definitely worth a revisit.

3 of us had a lovely lunch here on 8th Oct. We had a nice table at the window so could watch the world go by. Staff were fantastic despite some of our group being held up. All of us enjoyed the food. Steak and garlic mash were particularly good. Would definitely recommend 😊

Last minute booking before waterboys at Usherhall , Gluten free options were lovely. Very quick service, very friendly attentive polite waiting staff . Totally recommend the rump steak , really nice place to visit will definitely be back .

Service was painfully slow. Even accounting for the fact that they were changing over from breakfast to lunch, it took nearly 1 1/2 hours to get our food. Food was average at best. Very limited options for gluten free people as food is pre-prepared and can’t be adapted. Burgers were microscopic.

Good destination for a business lunch - burgers, sandwiches (the kind served on a plate with fries or a salad on the side) sort of place, with swift and friendly service. Quiet and very convenient because it is so central (West End, Edinburgh).

We went in at 11.45am to e handed a breakfast menu, told girls in for lunch. Told she couldn’t take lunch until 12…came back at 12.15 to say running late but would put lunch on when they were ready. Told girl we were in a hurry as I was singing in Usher Hall. We ordered teas and coffee to come with lunch but unfortunately they didn’t come. Half way through lunch we asked to be told not added on. They then came. Unfortunately not time for dessert but had to rush out. All in all not a great experience..

Good value quality meal with the world's biggest chips. Great seating so we could see what was happening in the street. Good choice of beers. Been there before and they make a great breakfast too. Recommended.

The menu choice and quality of the food seems to have gone downhill since our last visit about a year or so back. Not bad, just not any good either. Forgettable food that was overpriced for what it was.

Visited for lunch with my daughter before a rugby match. Service was good and drinks reasonably priced the food however I felt wasn't good value, £13.00 for a burger, just a burger, chips etc extra, we did enjoy the food, just not value for money.

Service very poor and slow. We were told there would be a 20min delay in the food but and hour for a plate of shared nachos to start us shocking. And they were not as warm as they should be. The mains took another 40 mins !! No service for drinks, was told there was no bottled water and had to have tap water. The mains were average to say the least and dry. We ate them and felt unwell as soon after. We missed the tattoo due to the effects of the food. Was so looking forward to last night which ended up a real disappointment. Will be giving this place a miss in future.

The tables we were given (two small round tables pulled together) were not conducive to eating as there was limited room. There were a couple of little things initially like not enough napkins provided and no cutlery with dessert, but the food was good. My Mum's first latte was cold (they did bring her another) and because of an error in the kitchen, one of our desserts did not arrive until the time we had to leave. There wasn't anything available to take the dessert with us but the manager did take the cost of the dessert and the surcharge off the bill. The cost for the meal was high and because of the inadequate service, I wouldn't think we'll go back.
