Chart House Restaurant - Alexandria
Beautiful view and attentive staff. Food was delicious.
Thank you for making our 14th Wedding Anniversary the best. A perfect end to a great day.
The food was very good if a little expensive, but you are paying for the view. Although our view was partially blocked by the paddle-wheeler that was parked right outside the entire time we were there. Great service.
This is my favorite spot for special occasions. Terrific food, great service, and a loyalty rewards program that pays dividends!
Waiter was good, efficient and friendly. The lava cake was the best one we have ever had at Chart House in all the years we have been going to the Alexandria location.
We enjoyed being cool with great river views— the ferries, the fire boat, the tourists , the Potomac, even the Capitol. A very nice Restaurant week lunch.
I was disappointed in the food quality. My salmon was bland and the coconut/ginger rice has no flavor. The most disappointing part was my creme brulee was curdled and couldn't be replaced. I really was looking forward to that the most! They seated us in a booth and the water /silverware prep area was on the ledge next to our seating which didnt help the ambiance. For this price point I expected better.
The waiter was so good but the food sucks at this restaurant
We had a marvelous.
Great outdoor and in door setting looking at the Potomac River. Good friendly service. Food was good we had filet mignon but the cut could have been better. Had to repeatedly ask for a steak knife where at a Morton’s or other steak houses they place that there before your food arrives. Service was good but it was not a busy night so not sure how they handle things when busy.
We came because we’ve never been disappointed on previous visits, so we decided to come for restaurant week. We were seated swiftly and the server came to take our order. Our food and drink orders came quickly but not precisely. Our burgers weren’t prepared as we requested. We sent them back to redo to our specifications. My guests burger was sent back in a timely manner, but mine wasn’t. It was late coming back without tomato and everyone else was already finished eating by the time mine arrived. The server then asked if we were ready for dessert when not finished the burger that just arrived still without the tomato. I didn’t want the burger at this point so I took it home, ate dessert, then left. This visit was very disappointing.
Great ambiance and great view of the Potomac
We had a day date and ferried over to Chart House from National Harbor. The ride was wonderful and the Chart House sits right at the ferry dock. Our seat was more inside versus window view and I don't know if outside dining was available because we were not asked if we wanted to dine inside or outside. The food was good but not great...tasted a bit bland and we had to add seasoning, albeit salt and pepper, to add flavor. There was a very large party at tables/booth in front of us, with kids, who were allowed to run about towards the end of their meal which was a bit distracting, but they left by the time our meal was brought out so we did get to eat in peace. We would do it again and make specific requests for seat placements.
Excellent food, and excellent atmosphere and great service
It's a very pleasant location on the Potomac river, beautiful view, relaxing ambiance. Nice for an al fesco dining.
Great food and atmosphere. Exceptional service from Dwayne!
Very overpriced even for Alexandria and the service was lacking. Service was slow and inaccurate. Drinks came out wrong, and there seemed to be some general confusion. Ordered a filet medium and there wasn’t a touch of pink left in the steak. Wife ordered oysters and another sea food option which she said was okay but nothing special. It simply wasn’t a very good experience with the food or atmosphere. We were quite surprised.
Food was bad, service was OK,it was a waste of time and money. The restaurant is a mediocre tourist trap and we do not recommend it.
Appetizers were large even the “small” sizes. The calamari was great and the hummus. Entrees were pretty good too - we had the poke bowls. The chicken was very dry (we got it for the kids meal). Service was pretty good. The best part was the view and mud pie! I would go back for that mud pie!
The one thing the Chart House has in Alexandria is a great location, particularly the patio (which are rare here), but also the restaurant's waterfront location as a whole. The food is always good. Those two things bring me back occasionally, but the service is always lacking. It's not that the staff aren't friendly (they are); in fact, our waiter this time was very friendly and professional and did an excellent job. But we waited an inordinately long time for very simple lunch food to be delivered. This was a lunch visit - the restaurant wasn't empty, but certainly wasn't slammed such that the kitchen should be struggling like this. However, it's consistent with all my other visits to this location... the service is always lacking in terms of delivery of food.
Great place to enjoy a meal alfresco when the weather is nice. Can’t beat the view of the Potomac and the boats.
Fire pit room is amazing...definitely a pleasant experience.
Visiting Alexandria for the birth of our grandson. My son having lived in Old Town recommended this restaurant to celebrate. Wonderful choice! Great food and service. Will return there on our next visit.
The food was excellent, the service – even better! Kathleen provided great suggestions. We had a table with a great view of the water.
Birthday. They gave me a card and desert for my BDay which was a really nice touch.
Fish was poorly prepared. The presentation was nothing special, and the price to value was not great. Overall just average
Our server was terrific! She answered every question we had and had excellent suggestion for both beverages and food.
Wonderful atmosphere, service and location for both Lunch and dinner!!!!!
We had a double service I believe one server was in training. However they were great with ideal personalities for the environment of the restaurant. Our food and drinks were timely and fresh.
Beautiful view on the waterfront & delicious seafood dinner!
I would absolutely recommend Chart House - for indoor and outdoor seating. The location can't be beat! And, the food is delicious.
Great, as usual, with the million dollar view. One of my favorite spots.
Very nice staff. The food was wonderful and the view was awesome. Thanks for the great visit
We just celebrated our 52nd wedding anniversary in grand style at The Chart House Restaurant Alexandria. A window side table was awaiting us, along with a very nice anniversary card from the restaurant staff. Everything was perfect for this important event. Our server was most attentive as I have Celiac Disease and must remain Gluten Free. Everything presented for our dinner was perfectly cooked and very tasty. We will remember this occasion and heartily recommend The Chart House to any and all!
This was my first time here. The food was delicious! The atmosphere was nice! Chris the waiter was excellent! We will be back!!
We were fortunate to get a window table. Felt a little too close
To tables next to us. Ambiance nice. View relaxing.
Everything tasted fresh . Not our first visit probably our hundredth...so we are very familiar with the restaurant.
My wife and I enjoyed an early Sunday dinner. Everything about our visit was outstanding.
The Chart house brunch is the perfect reason to go hang out on the waterfront on Sunday! Incredible food (caviar on the salad bar is my go to favorite). Brunch specials were excellent. And you can't beat 99 cent mimosas! Great service all around.
Our server José F. was outstanding. He was always around making sure we had what we needed. He made us feel special one more time.
Brunch was so-so, would not rave about salad bar...much better options for brunch in Alexandria, especially in Old Towne!
