The Capital Bar & Grill may be the embodiment of Capital’s Southern Comfortable culinary vision focusing on provincial comfort food with a particular emphasis on the bounty of Arkansas. The tools of the bar include the most sought-after liquors, mixers and ingredients. In sort of a back-to-the-future twist, it has been a devotion to handmade classic and custom cocktails (the Aviation vs. the Cropduster) that has established Capital Bar as a nationally-regarded spirits destination. All this said, we strive to create a fun, relaxing experience for all of our guests: The friendly atmosphere is especially suited to business lunches, after-work drinks and get-togethers, as well as special date nights.

We had the most incredible 28th anniversary dinner at Capital Bar and Grill last Saturday evening. The food and the service were amazing! When we arrived, Mollie, was kind enough to seat us at the perfect table. Our server, Aley, was incredibly attentive and offered fantastic service. She recommended the Chef’s special that night, jambalaya, and we chose a special bottle of wine to go with our meal. The jambalaya was delicious, one of the best we have ever had! During the evening, both Aley and Mollie came by to wish us a happy anniversary. After our meal, the next thing we know, Aley is arriving at our table with a mini key lime pie adorned with berries, whip cream and a beautifully stenciled “Happy Anniversary” on the plate! What a wonderful surprise to top off a magical evening…..Actually we had one more surprise coming, the young couple next to us, paid for our bottle of wine. They had already left the restaurant, so there was no way to thank them. In case they happen to read this, we wanted to tell them that they truly touched our hearts and we are so grateful. Please send our sincere thanks to Mollie and Alex for making our night extra special! If you too, want to enjoy an incredible meal, second-to-none service, and a fun time, we highly recommend Capital Bar and Grill!

Portions were terribly small. The house salad was served in a small soup bowl not what you would expect for the cost

Lovely dining room with relaxing vibe. Salads were made with very fresh ingredients and great dressings. Trout was great and waitress took time to find out it’s fresh from a farm in Wyoming. Key lime tart also great. Overall a perfectly lovely evening.

We made reservations for a Saturday evening. The restaurant was not super crowded or noisy during our dinner. Our server was so sweet and our food was great! We will be returning.

The food was way overpriced for its quality and value. Particularly bad was the dessert, key lime “pie.” I put quotation marks around pie because it was actually a small tart with underbaked crust and no-flavor filling. The chicken in my husband’s pasta was unseasoned, and my trout was a bit overcooked (although my favorite part of the meal).

We got there before our reservations and the bar was full, so we took our drinks to the hotel lobby, which was a great place for small group conversations. The staff came to get us when our table was ready. Waitress knew we were going to a concert and was efficient and the mushroom risotto was great! Got our bills quickly and were ready to head to the concert in plenty of time.
