Welcome to the Steam Plant Restaurant and Brew Pub! This historical building actually functioned as a steam plant between 1916 and 1986, when the last boiler was shut down in December of that year.

Then years later, the old plant was transformed from a dirty, drab industrial behemoth into a cathedral-bright architectural showcase becoming a functional commercial space while maintaining as much history and equipment as possible within the rigid guidelines of historic renovation. Fortunately, the iconic twin stacks continue to lend a uniqueness to the Spokane skyline.

Since reopening in November 2021, the Steam Plant has partnered with Grain Shed Brewing whose beers are made with regionally sourced ingredients. The bar and dinner menus have been updated to showcase local favorites. Prices range from $11 - 16 for shareable appetizers, soups & salads, handhelds, and pizza; entries range from $18 - 38; and desserts range from $9 - 19 for the Steam Plant Shareable that feeds 4-6 people.

Service seemed very rush, food was over cooked and drinks were weak….. sad that we’ll probably won’t go back even though it’s considered one of the best restaurants in town…

Their menu has changed and we were sad. We miss the Steak Bites and the crème brûlée. My son’s steak was overdone and not well seasoned. However, their chocolate cake was amazing! Their cocktails are also very good.

Andrew our server was excellent! We've been to the restaurant several times on my stay in Spokane this month. Great food and drinks as well as awesome service every time!

Food was mediocre. Server was nice. Takes longer to get adult drinks since they come from downstairs. I don’t think we will go back because the food wasn’t worth it.

We met friends from out of town here. The remodel was so great. It created ambience and yet kept the history of the old steam plant in tact. All of us were very impressed with the quality of good, choices, prices were fair, and the staff was really great. I would really recommend this high end restaurant/ pub on special occasions. It is definitely not fast food. Take your time! Walk around the building and read the signs.

Great service and ambiance. Unfortunately, some of the food that was ordered, was not up to expectations. Ribeye steak was chewy with almost no seasoning, potatoes were pasty and along with the green beans, fairly bland. The artichoke dip was absolutely delightful, though.

Super cool building, we loved touring around and learning about the old steam plant. Our server was great, super friendly, helpful and patient. Food was good, wasn’t blown away, but didn’t leave unhappy or with any complaints. Kids loved the Huckleberry Lemonade!

I like the vibe of this place but honestly the food was only so-so. The shrimp pasta was decent, but would be easy enough to make at home. The roast chicken was chewy and dry, sides rather bland. I think this place used to be better.
