In one of the most idyllic settings. This 17th Century building sits above a shallow slope to the Thames and enjoys both a sunny veranda balcony and a pretty paved garden right on the riverside.
Apart from one or two extensions over the years the pub building remains relatively untouched, giving it a traditional pub feel.
Festooned with flowers and plants outside in summer and warmed with log fires in the winter it’s been a very special local in Twickenham for many years.

    I'm so glad we booked here; the great weather meant the pub was very crowded outside. Inside was cool and beautiful! Lovely service - as usual, this place always seems to make sure they have more than enough staff. Excellent meal - expertly cooked chicken. Great flavours. Our guest was very impressed.

    The Chipotle Mahi Mahi was more spicy that expected. Loved the couscous served with it. The Naked Ladies beer, to be recommended and the salted caramel brownie too. On a sunshiny day it was very relaxing to sit on the balcony overlooking the river.

    Awful service, half of the staff was rude the other half totally inexperienced. The food was quite bad but very expensive for what we got and the poor quality we experienced. The only good thing is the outside space by the river for which they do not take reservations. We will not be going back!

    Great Sunday lunch. Quick and friendly service. We really appreciated being offered an outside table on the terrace instead of the inside table that we'd booked as the weather was great.

    I went with friends for an evening meal. The food was delicious good amount, and enjoyed the pudding as well. It's a small dining area, busy atmosphere but a very pleasant place to go and meet friends. A very popular pub. I will recommend to book a table.

    Staff were great, disappointing that having called to verify there really wasn’t a gluten free menu on offer. Unfortunately, ended up in the back of the indoor area so had to seek service at times. However, when staff we’re looking after us they were fab.

    Our treat to ourselves, having worked all weekend. The husband had fish the 'BBQ' sauce was a little sweet, but the pork was really well cooked. Pimms was perfect for a day that started chilly and got very sunny. Great service, as always, and entertainment from a few dogs for whom the pub is their local.

    Lovely location, limted menu but fabulous food, so whats not to like. Sat outside in their patio area. Excellent service, someone was always there looking out to see if we needed anymore drinks/food. Will be going again.

    Could not have been happier with the lovely, friendly staff and the outstanding food. Six of us were given potentially the best table in the bar, in the bay window overlooking the Thames so nothing to complain about there either. Will be back very soon. Many thanks.

    One of the very best pubs in London, a fabulous setting, great ambience, a friendly welcome and responsive service; Of course the beer is also good and the pub food has some imaginative dishes amongst the more traditional menu options.

    We booked a Table in advance for 4 people for a Sunday Roast. None of us had a starter as there wasn’t anything we liked (they weren’t doing the soup). The dinner was probably one of the best pub roasts I’ve had. The chicken was lovely, and roasted vegetables made a change from the usual broccoli. They didn’t have any desserts apart from ice cream. The service was ok, the pub was warm and cozy, was pretty busy which was nice. I would definitely go back.

    Really friendly staff who left us to dine and relax, visited us to refresh drinks at right times. Our food was good, ideal portion sizes and arrived without a delay or need to ask where it was - on a busy Sunday that was a plus for us. Recommended!

    Really small portion for a roast, was overpriced compared to other places. Asked for ice cream instead of cream with the sticky toffee pudding and was told I would need to pay extra. I wouldn't be returning based on this.

    Beautiful surroundings and lovely place for a drink. The staff were friendly and helpful with the drinks served quickly. The food was typical pub grub and was served hot but was mediocre. The fish was all thick batter and the chips were tasteless. A few starters may have been a better choice. Would recommend a friend for a drink only.

    Lovely warm welcome on a chilly day. The menu looks like basic pub grub, but isn't. The fish & chips comes in a portion size the staff referred to as 'a whale on a plate', and it defeated even the husband. Mind you, he'd already polished off a superb slab of ham hock. My starter, a smoked salmon mousse/pate was fabulous - and it's good to have some decent crackers, definitely not the cheap kind! My main was mahi mahi, with a sauce that was packed with flavour but still delicate. Rice served with al dente broccoli was perfect - though again, the portion was hefty. We're lucky to have this old place on the river. It's been there since the 18th century, and long may it continue.

    We were looking forward to a Sunday roast at the White Swan but were quite disappointed with the meal. There was so much red cabbage on the plate that overpowered any of the other flavours which I’m sure were lovely. The mulled cider was incredible. The staff were attentive and friendly so not all bad!
