Service was excellent, food was not. Savory items were just okay. Jam for scones was not even house made and only one small jar was provided for four scones. Sweets were not really edible, especially the checkered matcha cake (too sweet) , the madeline (dry, nothing special - even with the rice crispy sprinkles) and the round cookie (dry and no flavor).

Expected a much better choice of teas. Tea should be brewed and kept warm. Tea bags were used for individual pots where the tea became cold quite quickly, and no one came by to offer hot tea. Very poor selection of savory food/sandwiches. It seemed like they ran out of food. Extremely disappointed with a very high priced, poor quality, mediocre experience. Will not be going to the London for tea again.

Honestly, I didn't think the sandwiches were that great and as is often the case with high teas, too many desserts, too few sandwiches. But these sandwiches were a disappointment. Service was great until we were ready to go, then our server was MIA. The hotel and room are lovely and the desserts were very good.

Wonderful tea and great service. Beware though the parking with validation is $22 ouch. Would think twice about returning purely because of the outrageous parking fee.

Great experience, I’m surprised they weren’t busier. The quality of the food and tea was wonderful and the service provided by the staff was very friendly. Thanks for making our Mother’s Day memorable, I will definitely be back!

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I’d done afternoon tea at The London 5 years ago and it was lovely. They even had this magic tea menu for kids, which they no longer have. The hotel overall seems way understaffed. Our waiter was nice, but kept disappearing and everything took forever to come out. My tea pot didn’t have enough tea bags in it so it was just hot water. And our waiter didn’t seem to know anything about the tea service. He was clearly not trained for this and seemed overwhelmed. The food was mostly good, but it’s hard to enjoy it when it took over two hours for everything to be brought out. This is a pricey tea service. It cost $300 (including tip) for 2 adults and one child. Plus the $22 valet. They should really discontinue the afternoon tea service if it’s going to be this low quality. It was a huge disappointment and we will never be back. I expected better from The London.

Excellent afternoon tea, with real clotted cream, only negative was the savory sandwiches were not as much as a normal tea, less of a selection, and they used too many non English breads. The sweets were mediocre. But the experience and scones and some of the sandwiches were amazing. Add a bao bun to the tea and boom! Heaven.

Parked free on San Vicente Blvd., Host sat us immediately. The room was big, and separate from other hotel functions. There were coffee tables and couches, as well as café tables. The dishes were standard issue, white restaurant plates and coffee/tea cups. The design was on the minimalist side, with subtle layers of textures in the stone tile, linen and other fabrics in beige, white, black and green. The service was gracious. They were able to accommodate our last-minute request for one of three orders to pescatarian. We caught the tail end of the rush. it took about 25 minutes wait before we were sipping our tea and we were not in a hurry. we lingered for a couple hours. The food was overall rating of good. Some of the sandwich bread was a bit dry, and the egg and cucumber sandwich while pretty needed some seasoning. The salmon, roast, beef, and duck were good the scones were fresh and not dry. They were served with the traditional lemon, curd, clotted cream, and strawberry . jam we finished the tier tray with a chocolate covered strawberry. Then came the second course, which was outstanding. All desserts, it was hard to decide with which one to start. the flavor of each was delicious, especially the cream puff and Battenberg pistachio fondant cake. The financer was in a tough third place. Then there was the ginger Madeline with ginger icing and the açaí macaron which was good but a little bit too buttery, if there is such a thing. Hats off to the pastry chef, who clearly has a cut above many of the tea service restaurants chefs and cooks. Finally, the cost was a bit overpriced at $333.40, in my opinion, for three people without any add-ons such as champagne. The breakdown was $84 per person. There was a 20% automatic service charge totaling $50.40. The tax was $31 and appears to have been added after the service charge. That was my only gripe.
