Nested in Uphams Corner, Dorchester, we're a lively and intimate 30-seat restaurant serving brunch on the weekend and dinner at night with a full bar and outdoor patio. Our food is a celebration of the ingredients and flavors of the African diaspora connected from Asia to the Americas — global comfort food. We are proudly Black-owned, immigrant-owned, and women-owned. We believe that food is a vital aspect of community building and we envision a place that is actively engaged in highlighting the culture, art, and history of our community.

- Patio dining: patio reservations are weather-dependent and may be canceled due to inclement weather. Our patios are partially covered protecting from light to moderate rain and light wind.

- Timing: dinner's last seating is at 8:45pm and brunch's last seating is at 1:30pm. Your table is reserved for 90 mins for parties of 1-5 guests and 2 hrs for parties of 6+ guests.

Why they're an Icon

From the OpenTable editors: This Dorchester gem's cross-cultural menu is unlike anything else in the region, and that's why it's already earned a five-star review in the Boston Globe and been named Boston Magazine's best new restaurant in 2023. The restaurant, led by managing partner Biplaw Rai and chef partner Kwasi Kwaa, is a nod to the rich contributions of immigrants to this country. Dishes embrace the ingredients and flavours of the African diaspora, which means you'll find West African-style suya beef with caramelised onions and spicy Ghanaian plantain preparation kelewele. Get in on the celebrations in the light and airy dining room or the greenery-lined patio in the back, all part of what was once a historic rest station in Upham's Corner.

    We ordered the Suya beef, jerk duck, and short ribs as well as a couple cocktails. Everything was delicious and exciting combinations of flavors. Looking forward to going back and trying more items off the menu!

    Eat here TONIGHT!! This is a very unique restaurant- you won’t find this anywhere else! African fusion - yes that is very broad, but even menu has little blogs like a magazine talking about the diaspora and food anthropology of curry or coffee or spices along the silk road. It is an educational gastronomical wonder! Also in a cute historic building with great ambiance and side patios with cute lighting. Get over to Dorchester’s Uphams Corner! Congrats to this large culinary team for terrific food, non alcoholic fun drinks, cocktails/libations and desserts!! Good for families with babies through that romantic dinner you are planning!

    This has been one of our favs. The food is tasty. The service is very professional. The black Caesar was damn tasty. Looking forward to going to brunch see you next month ck Love my peeps Tom and Joe

    We went to Sunday brunch. It was 1 pm still more than a couple of owner before closing time. From the main entrees choices only TWO were available, that was VERY disappointing. Noise levels was absurd.

    Great dining experience. Have been wanting to go for a while. Good, inventive food. Some plates were missing something but couldn’t quite put my finger on it. Maybe it had one too many ingredients. Not sure. Overall, great dining experience and will recommend others to try. Drinks were amazing.

    Fantastic experience all around. Food, drinks, and service were top class. Jack fruit sliders were incredible, perfect amount of heat. Monkfish curry and Shortribs were fantastic. We will be back
