The food is extraordinary and the staff is wonderful. It’s become one of our favorite places to go for a special treat. It is expensive, but the quality of the food is beyond compare.

My friend Fran Weissler, Linda Swartz and I had the most amazing dining experience at Hutong last night. The 2 appetizers were so delicious! The duck was cooked to perfection and so delightful. The service was fabulous!

A bit disappointed with the food: for the price, I was expecting something a lot better. Nothing special with the dimsum appetizer, actually a bit bland and so were the condiments. Dim sum in Chinatown is so much better! While the dimsum was bland, their mapo tofu was blazingly hot so we hardly touched it. Talk about extremes. Had peking duck - ok, nothing to write home about. Overall - quite disappointed!

The food was amazing-delicious and artfully presented. I specifically recommend the mushroom dim sum and the wagyu beef en croute. All the dim sum we had were great. We also enjoyed the Peking duck and the sea bass entree. The service was decidedly less praise worthy. We were a party of 5 and they initially seated us at a table that only fit 4. They eventually moved us, but then couldn’t direct the later arriving members of our party to where we were. They delivered the entrees when we were still working on our appetizers. The busser threw a wet cloth on the table and asked us to wipe the table down ourselves. The price is high, as you would expect from a midtown business account kind of place.

The service was very bad, we were sitting for over 20 minutes before someone came to take our order … and they only came because we asked for someone. The waiters were not attentive… served soup without soup dishes, serving appetizers without a serving spoon. We have been here many times but very disappointed to see the service fall. Have had a wonderful experience in the past and hope you all can improve!
