3rd time in that restaurant, never disappoints, love it
Lovely lunch menu-something for everyone. Not bad value considering the location.
The sharing concept works well with Asian dishes, all of which were good and some very good (e.g. the black cod gyoza). The wine list is long enough and not overly pricey. And, of course, The Ned is jam-packed of an evening. Service was friendly but a little patchy. Overall, a good place for food with friends and reasonable value for the middle of London. Just don't go if you are looking for a quiet night out and don't like crowds of people!
Amazing food and atmosphere!
Some of the food was lovely in particular the black cod gyoza but the sushi was very average
superb atmosphere really lovely waiter who suggested some of the food which was excellent
really enjoyed the evening
Had afternoon tea - food was lovely and the atmosphere was great; went on s Saturday so there was live music being played in Millie's restaurant next to Kaia but the music level was perfect as could still chat with friends! Definitely recommend going!
The whole restaurant hall is huge! And has very cool athmosphere. Whits a jazz band in the middle of de room... not quiet but not booring:-)
Love their salmon poke bowls! Service is super attentive and it's a good spot for an informal business luncu.
Great food and service in an amazing space.
Always busy and great place for all occasions except I would say it’s a bit too noisy for a romantic meal.
The service was poor and menu choice limited, but the band and dancing were great
Kaia is a great restaurant for Japanese and Hawaiian style dishes. We had the poke which was outstanding plus several different sushi rolls. All of the food was fresh and flavourful.
The restaurant is located as an open area next to the Ned Hotel reception desk. There is also a couple of bars further down in the lobby as well as a small stage which when we were there had a jazz band playing. It’s a cool atmosphere but a bit noisy.
We enjoyed our meal and the service was very good. We would go back.
Service was appalling, very slow and very rude staff. Food was average, but nothing special and quite expensive.
I only had a small bite to eat with an associate, but the service was excellent. Good recommendations and chat from the 2 waiters. Will go back for another crack at the chefs selection!
The food was just ok but felt expensive for what we ate. And the staff were nice but not very experienced. Considering the location, I wasn’t very impressed and won’t be going back.
Great food, staff were really friendly but it were pretty busy. Definitely going again
Amazing place and such a great ambiance! Service is excellent as well and the food is great very, very tasty.
Would recommend to anyone a must go!
Birthday dinner was amazing must try the beef tataki . And the black cod! Wow
Excellent food and atmosphere as ever. Highly recommend
The food was amazing but it took about 25 minutes to get offered a drink. I had to ask 2 different very unfriendly waiters if we could order, both ignored me.
Finally, a 3rd lovely waitress who was friendly came to serve us and take our order. It's definitely NOT somewhere for a romantic date as it is extremely loud there and it can be very awkward depending on who is sat next to you.
I've been twice now, both times service was appalling. The table next to us felt the same.
Food is so good though.
Fresh sushi and sashimi . Fun high energy seating. It’s noisy, not good for big group conversations. 1:1 works. But energy is good and lots of people around to watch
Overall experience horrible. Terrible service. Massive disappointment. The place is super noisy. We were sat squeezed between other people having their dinner (I don't think there were details about the tables when I booked it on OpenTable). The waiter forgot one of the orders and then brought twice a starter we ordered only once. Then when we asked for the missing salmon and a plate arrived much later (+30 min since we ordered it the first time) and it arrived with ginger (even if they initially asked for food allergies and we said ginger - who knows why they wanted to know...) so we had to sent back the plate. Because all the waiting and the waiters/kitchen were not organised at all we decided to leave and finish our dinner somewhere else. When we asked for the bill we had to send it back twice!! every time they were charging us for things we didn't have. Imagine how stressful was even just wanting to leave this place. The last time the Manager brought the bill and it was correct, he apologised because of the disaster they did and the horrible experience they offered. I appreciated that. However that didn't change anything. The terrible experience was over.
Kaia is a little way off from the main hall of The Ned and is a nice quiet spot for an intimate dinner. Food was excellent and staff were happy to recommend dishes or drinks. The paired dessert and sake options were delicious (I would have happily tried them all but there is always next time).
Fabulous setting in the old bank ...I would travel anywhere for their amazing Poke Bowls!
Firstly the food was very good and we had a nice evening for my sisters birthday.
However, when I noted it was a special occasion I would have expected a better table. Our table location was right in the back corner and when I had booked in advance was not impressed. Right by the bar and the back of the kitchen. It was very noisy and hot! Considering we were right by the bar we had to ask on a number of occasions for drinks to be topped up.
Our waitress was friendly and polite however the menu was not explained and I felt like guidance would have improved our decision and would have ordered more food!
Atmosphere in general was good and we continued to have drinks later on.
Great evening out with friends
Really poor service. Zero waiter attentiveness. Waited over 20 minutes just for our first drink. No-one seemed to want to take our food order. The starter arrived at the same time as the main. Food was OK, far from great. Only positive apart from my excellent and forgiving company was the impressive building, but you'd eat as well at Wagamama, at a quarter of the price and with much better service.
The food was really exceptional, as was the ambience. The service could have been a little better, given that we had gone for lunch, and it was not very busy. Overall, a very nice experience.
We were disappointed by Kaia, terrible and unattentive service, forgotten dishes, run out of dessert at 9pm on a Saturday. Super noisy. Raw ingredients were delicious e.g. wagyu beef and otoro tuna. We asked to talk with the manager about the service and waitress came back saying they would take off gratuity and that was pretty much it. Level of service is too poor for the location. Quite sad as it has potential.
I have dined here three times but my problem is that diners are forced to sit facing each other on bar stools which makes it difficult to have a conversation, we requested to sit next to each other and were offered a spot at the back by the kitchen, after this we were completely ignored and had to keep getting up to find a waiter to order drinks/ pay the bill. Terrible service, will not be dining here again, which is a shame as the food is good
Food was excellent and reasonable value in an interesting venue. Multiple open planned bars and restaurants in a large hotel lobby atrium with live music. Will go back for sure.
My boyfriend and I went for afternoon tea. Matcha buns were a bit dry, cakes were ok but nothing special. At 30 pounds it wasn't worth it.
Always enjoy the food...the sushi and poke bowl is very tasty and fresh.
The beef tataki was honestly the best thing on the menu, the meat MELTED in your mouth like butter!!
Good food, but a little overpriced. Felt the service was confused and a little rushed
Had a relaxed and healthy Friday lunch. Lots of vegetarian options which was good. Service was friendly but a little bit inattentive as it was busy.
We booked a table in advanced and got it in 30 mins delay.
Food was less than average:(
Went on a Thursday evening. Overall the Ned is very loud but this was a great spot where we could still hear the band but could also hear eachother speak! Would revisit.
First time dining at Kaia and I'll tell you what, it has definitely won me over. It definitely gives sushi samba a run for its money. Will definitely... And already have recommended.
The food was beautifully presented and top notch quality. Good drinks options, excellent cocktails and good wine list selection.Excellent service. We all had such a wonderful time.
