Buzzy atmosphere, good food, efficient and professional service and decent value compared with local competition.
I have been to this restaurant several times and have always been very satisfied with the overall package of menu, service, ambience and value. Looking forward to the next trip
This was my third time at this restaurant. Food and wines are always superb and service very attentive. It's the best restaurant for 'occasions' in this area with the garden décor adding to the overall stunning package. If I had to make one criticism of this place, it's the noise level. Not sure if the low ceilings are to blame but you cannot hear your fellow diners unless you shout. Not a place for a relaxing meal or intimate catch-up. Having said that I've booked another table in December.
Been several times and will go back, if only to sit at the bar and watch the diners
Ivy City Garden was delightful. Everyone enjoyed their lunches, decor is lovely. It is buzzy so do not go if you are after a quiet business meeting.
As with all Ivy brasseries, great atmosphere and fabulous décor. Food great as always, and staff friendly (if a little inexperienced - I got the impression there were a few new staff on that night). I would definitely go back and look forward to taking a larger group (the larger tables looked like a lot of fun). The food is always reliably good and the menu is really varied. Great value - two cocktails, three courses and side dishes, soft drinks, all for £55 a head including service.
First time at this location and as always a lovely restaurant with delicious food. I dropped a star for service as a number of people taking orders were actually very offish
The restaurant looks nice decor was but is too cramped with the seating arrangements. There were many staff changes during our meal, and the timing of drinks and pre dinner entrees was poor. The waiter removed all of our side plates before we had finished the bread without asking if it was ok to do so. The arrival of our drinks was overdue.
This Ivy is lovely. Staff attentive but not overly so. Food great. Busy but not too loud. Good for groups and for smaller tables. Would definitely return.
The Ivy City Restaurant! What can say we would definitely visit again and recommend to friends. Everything was fantastic. We visited on a Monday lunchtime and the place was alive with music and conversation. Food fantastic.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch here. The service was great. The ambience is lovely. The desserts are fabulous.
We enjoyed it so much we are bringing our friend on Saturday for his 50th birthday and hope he enjoys it!
Buzzy, smart with a really impressive interior. Food was excellent as was service, just as you'd expect from Ivy Group. Just one minor gripe - prices on the wine list spiral out of control very quickly.
Amazing place service so kind. They saw it was my birthday and even gave me a lovely cake. Coming back
Very nice restaurant! Food and service outstanding
Despite being fabulous place and fabulous food our waitress was as less and her English was poor to say the least
Service was poor. This was early on a Saturday night with a 2 hour turnaround on the table, which is fine, but the mains arrived as our starters were being taken away, which was far too quick. We did complain to the waiter, but her response was that we should have said something at the time, to which we said we didn’t want our food taken back to be sitting under a hot plate. Wine pouring was inattentive as well. A very poor contrast to the “real” ivy
We arrived late but the staff still managed to accommodate us. The waiters and staff were polite and as helpful as ever. The food came quickly and was delicious.
As it was a Saturday night there was a lively atmosphere in the restaurant but this didn't spoil our evening.
Good food. The sourdough bread starter was amazing. Wide range of drinks available. Service good but sometimes requests to one member of staff not communicated to others.
Great for a birthday dinner. Great food, lovely setting, great ambience
A garden oasis in the middle of the city. Deceptively large venue which was buzzing on a Friday evening. Foie gras was unethical but divine and the tempura prawns were generous (5) and light with a mild wasabi sauce. Lobster Linguine was OK and the single fish cake was large with good fish content and not overtly made of potato. Great service from friendly staff. A special birthday tartlet with candle finished off the evening perfectly.
Beautiful restaurant with two bars just round the corner from Liverpool Street Station. Very noisy due to the large number of covers and distorted sound from a DJ playing in the corner. My wifes soup was very good but I had the prawn and lobster cocktail starter which was full of prawns that were a bit soggy at the bottom and the lobster had no real taste. Our mains were chicken bourgeon. The piece of chicken was large but the small dob of mash under the chicken just mixed into the sauce. The courgette fritti we sent back because they were so soft and the only taste was of flour and full of oil. Pudding was very good though. A bit of a mixed bag but at £126.00 too expensive for the quality. Sorry.
I was not very happy we only had the table for 2 hours could have been longer.
Nice catch up with friends, nice decor and atmosphere plus decent food.
The food was very good. The service was good. The only down side is the noise. I thought I was eating in a pub.
Lovely night, real buzzy restaurant but could easily chat. Great food n cocktails - def recommend and will be a regular haunt!
Really lovely venue, food and friendly staff.
The only downside was we were given the bill as coffees arrived and chased to pay several times before we had even finished our coffee. We were only there for a total of 2 hours and being rushed for the last 30 mins which was not ideal
I must say I was a bit disappointed on my second trip here. The first time I visited it was amazing, but this time not so much. The table we had was stuck in a bit of a thoroughfare, so I was forever getting my chair bumped into, plus I think they had watered the plants and the floor was soaking around us. At 7.36 someone came over and said they would need the table back at 8.00 and no rush, within 30 seconds and not having asked for it, the receipt was slapped on the table with a 'how would you like to pay?'. Maybe it was because we didn't have any alcohol, but I felt we were treated a lot differently this time. I also think their vegan menu is a bit of a joke price wise - £17.95 for a sweet potato curry?? It's also pretty lame and unadventurous when you can make extremely tasty vegan food, everywhere else seems to manage it. All in all, not in a hurry to return to this particular restaurant. The toilets are amazing though, which is one bonus!
As a very regular customer The Ivy City Garden never lets me down in any way. Quality food, beautifully cooked and presented by the most friendly efficient staff who cannot do enough for you. Excellent in all ways
Last minute booking but glad we made the trip. Boisterous environment with slightly erratic service, so not really somewhere for a date, but for friends to meet it was fine. Decent and interesting / unusual vegetarian options.
The Ivy City Garden is a great place for a relaxed meal at surprisingly competitive prices - very generous portions served efficiently
Have been to this restaurant several times now but this time, was exquisite. Had a really lovely meal and the service was very good. We dined early so it was fairly quiet but got busier as time went on. Lovely atmosphere tho, great food, service and surroundings.
Interesting and lovelydecor, good quality food, friendly service, nice ambience
Our waiter was (VERY) uncommunicative and really struggled with English. Not good with the wine pouring. rather disengaged. Our guests were elderly and we were stuck right in the middle on a small table. Some more thought about placing (likely) hard of hearing people in a quieter part might be a thought, but I get that its a busy time! Overall it was a good evening.
Tres bel endroit , personnel charmant. Repas un vrai régal
I love to come here and have brunch on a Sunday. It is great for having brunch/lunch/drinks with friends but also with your family. Service is more than perfect and the venue is so charming!
Amazing decor and fantastic service. Brunch was accompanied by a live DJ who played at a moderate level so the music was a complement. The artwork on the walls is fantastic!
Lovely restaurant. Fantastic for any occasion. Highly recommended.
The ambience was great, the menu and food were excellent, service was prompt, attentive but not intrusive, the restaurant situation was very convenient... near to Liverpool Street station. All 6 of us had a different dish for all 3 courses and everyone liked what they’d chosen, we had a lovely evening.
