A little disappointed. Booked afternoon tea here as was seeing a friend I hadn’t seen in a long while and fancied a treat. The room was lovely and the server was very sweet however, as soon as we sat down we were told there was a 90 minute time limit which I didn’t think was totally unreasonable but we didn’t receive our sandwiches until after 30 minutes so not much time to enjoy all that was on offer. No offer of sandwich refills which is a bit of a cheek considering the price. Opted for the mini martini version. All very good but the server did spill I little and didn’t offer a fresh one. After the 90 minutes we were told that we needed to finish and leave even though there was only one other occupied table in the whole room. I’ve had afternoon tea in various hotel in London and this is the first time I’ve experienced this. Don’t really think it’s appropriate especially when it wasn’t busy. I don’t feel at all that the experience reflected the service that is expected in a five star establishment.

Our guide told us Duke’s has the best tea in London so we tried it out. The staff was kind to our 3-year-old and the food was delicious!

Our first afternoon tea was exquisite! The finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries were delicious. The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing and the service was excellent. Definitely recommend Dukes for an authentic Afternoon tea!

The hotel needs a complete renovation. “Charming” however old and tired. Food and service very average compared to the Ritz or Savoy. Only place we could get a reservation. It started well with service however dirty dishes towards the end remained on the table… server disappeared after tea was served. No explanation of sandwiches and pastries…

Very poor service, the food was mediocre and not at all what you would expect from a luxury hotel. We waited forever for the three mini martinis, that were not very good and not at all comparable what is served at their famous bar. Since it was two of us they put all our food together onto one serving tray, the scones were terrible overdone, covered in powdered sugar to make them look better. Tiny scoop of fairly firm clotted cream. Just all in all a sad experience, not on par with other places In London. They need to send their team for training in customer service and food and drink quality. If you want a great experience go to Forum and Mason, the Sheraton or Ritz. Close by and so much better!

Lovely setting for afternoon tea. Staff were professional, friendly and welcoming. They were very knowledgeable and explained in detail the contents of the cakes and sandwiches. What stood out to me was being told that the sandwiches and scones would be replenished free of charge if needed. (That in itself is very unusual nowadays!) Only downside - the tea was very weak - even after allowing it to stand. That’s probably our fault - we should have asked for the waiter’s advice as to a stronger tea! All in all a lovely afternoon spent at the Dukes Hotel. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Dukes has hollowed out a classic British tradition. Unbalanced food choice, v few sandwiches. Cakes/scones not fresh. Service slow/stop start/inattentive. Tea quality disappointing. Boisterous children change environment from quiet/relaxing drawing room to “energetic”/noisy cafe. Disappointing. Hotel has not replied to my online message.

Took my friend for afternoon tea as a birthday treat. We both enjoyed the food and service. We were left to chat for as long as we wanted. We didn’t feel rushed. The room was pleasant and comfy. The doorman was a good sport when my friend asked for photos with him.

We had a great afternoon tea here. Although on the more expensive side, the food and tea were super good & the overall ambiance was very cute. It was very quiet, but that is expected for this type of dining. Overall, we would certainly return on our next trip to London.

Service was poor. Had to request extra small table as it was impossible to pour tea with overcrowded table. We opted for the tea that was to be served with 3 paired mini martinis as advertised online. We received 2 plain martinis. There was a definite language barrier that added to the confusion.

Visited Dukes for afternoon tea while on vacation. Just an absolutely wonderful experience all around. This is a great location tucked away in St James Place. Food and tea were incredible and the entire experience was exactly what we weee hoping for. Highly recommend Dukes for a traditional afternoon tea in a quaint an intimate location

I went for afternoon tea in the Drawing room at Duke's with my mother on a Saturday. We had a great time and it was especially due to the great service of Musa. He was lovely and attentive and made the experience great! We had the martinis with the afternoon tea and they were made so the taste complimented what we were eating. That was really fun and both the martinis and the tea were great. The sandwiches tasted really good, especially the one with gammon and the brioche with egg. You are also offered complimentary scones or sandwiches if you would like more. The scones also tasted really nice, with jam and clotted cream and the assorted delights/petit fours were tasty - the only problem was that we couldn't eat it all! It was a lovely day and we will come again.

It was alright, but I prefer to sit at a real table, not a low table. The eggnog was great, but there was far too little cream and jam for the scones. We ordered some water, that never came and had to ask for a refill for the tea ourselves.

We where not impressed unfortunately. We got the tea and hot choklad 20 minutes before the scones and the rest came for 3 of us. My sons dish came after unother 15-20 minutes when the rest uf as finally had starting eating and after asking for his scones etc. Best regrds Ellinor

The service was one of total disinterest with no comment made as to why 90% of the cakes were not touched. The sandwiches were fine, the scones delicious but the cakes were unpleasant. The crème brûlée was runny and the pink round balls had an awful inedible filling. Final insult was the compulsory service charge!

Slow service, average spread of food. Not enough cream or jam served with the scones. Staff didn’t present the tea with any enthusiasm or know what was on the plate when asked. Jut put it on the table and couldn’t wait to get away. Seemed short staffed. We must have waited over half an hour after arriving before we were served anything.

The overall experience was lovely --the setting, the food, the service and bartender (we opted for the marTEAni tea). My only complaint is the music* - - much of it was new age/fusion? It wasn't loud, but in a beautiful quaint environment like that would appreciate old school (could be 1920', 30's or even big band or classical) or even Christmas music given the time of year. Other than that, two enthusiastic thumbs up! *in fairness, the music wasn't loud, just unappealing

Incredible tea experience! Especially for vegans like us. It was so tasty and wonderful. The service was INCREDIBLE! I can’t say enough about our servers - they treated us with such care and were so attentive. Definitely add this to your London itinerary.
