The Granary Square Brasserie
The brasserie buzz through breakfast, morning coffee, lunch and cream teas in the afternoon. Throughout the day the lounge area will be perfect to relax with a drink or for informal meetings with luxurious vintage leather chairs and low brass tables. As the sun sets and we get ready for dinner, the DJ set will begin, and cocktails will flow.
The restaurant is beautiful with cut glass pendant lights, banquettes upholstered in silk and velvet and exotic kilim rugs. The striking central bar, located in the heart of the room, is perfect to survey the scene and enjoy an aperitif cocktail.
Friday - Saturday: 8:00am- 01:30am
Sunday: 9:00am- 11:00pm
A fabulous restaurant in kings cross area, lovely atmosphere, lovely hosts, greeted upon arrival by name. Food good, maybe a tad expensive but worth it.
The staff and manager were very attentive, polite and welcoming. great décor
We had a wonderful lunch here... the food is excellent, the service is efficient, relaxed and fun, the acoustics great - we could have a conversation! Perfect for a much anticipated family reunion.
Thank you very much for a memorable experience.
Very nice lunch and will definitely return. Although November we are outside on the patio and enjoyed the warm sunshine. Although there is building works nearby it didn’t affect the experience and is only short term anyway. Lovely atmosphere
Always have good time- food exceptional usually, but Sunday lunch Vegas were over cooked and rather meagre!! You were exceptionally busy though, and everything else was really good.
Very lively, very noisy restaurant. Waiting staff friendly and helpful.
Everything was entirely acceptable, aside from the portion size of the shepherd's pie. It was comparable to a tiramisu and nowhere near commensurate with its price tag. My three companions had eggs Benedict, steak and egg, and fish and chips. All were far, far better value.
Lovely atmosphere, good lighting. Very attentive and helpful service. A very enjoyable evening.
The food was lovely, however the service was quite poor. The waitress didn’t write our orders down so we ended up with two wrong starters and then an additional starter once we sent it back and an additional main course. We ordered tap water with our drinks and still hadn’t received any when our starters arrived so had to chase. There was a baby on the table and the waiter offered a kids dessert which didn’t arrive and when the desserts arrived the wrong dessert was given to the birthday boy so once the singing finished we had to swap plates.
So good went back the next day and was even better, the general manager was so welcoming and even offered to buy us a drink.
Great casual eating spot in kings cross. Loved the food, location and ambience. Can't wait to go back again!
Great food and very accommodating to our party. Would recommend and will be visiting again!
Wonderfully evening with great attention to details from staff. great way to end the week and looking forward to returning
Very nice and elegant. Food is good but we have to wait for water to be served and the was no complementary water bottle on the table.
Once again the Granary Square Brasserie failed to disappoint, great, attentive service. Delicious food and the added bonus of a DJ on a Friday night. Love the atmosphere in this place, pure glamour and a real treat.
Dinning at the bar was a joy. same at was raining outside otherwise but we be back soon
Have brought a few friends here over the past 8 months; all have been impressed and most have returned. A great spot; superb atmosphere. Special without being ridiculously priced.
Excellent food; very proficient, very courteous service. Nothing NOT to like!!
Excellent food as always.
The restaurant was very busy and noisy as there was a dj playing that night. We waited around 20 minutes to be seated. Drink orders were mistaken a couple of times and arrived separately- one much later than the rest.
It was a birthday meal and we had been told there would be a candle put in the birthday girl’s dessert- sadly this didn’t happen.
The waiters were very good at advising us on gluten free options and there were many available.
I have been before and will probably return as the food and setting is so lovely, hopefully the service issues were a one off.
The Granary Square Brasserie is a fantastic experience - glorious decor, great menu and reasonably priced.
Very nice food and great atmosphere. The service was average, felt a bit neglected when it got busy!
Had a really lovely birthday meal at the Granary Square Brasserie. The food was great and the staff were so friendly. I’d definitely return.
My fourth visit, superb food. Music seemed a bit loud last visit with an older group, we asked for it to be turned down and it was a little. Service good though getting the bill can be a bit slow so ask for it early if necessary - there is no sense of being rushed through and out the door at this restaurant. Waiters appeared entirely relaxed about shared starters/ puddings. I will be back soon!
Food was not what you would expect from a restaurant like this - average to poor. Meat was a bit tough and fatty. More importantly the waiting service and time to receive our food was awful. Waiter keep spilling wine, he also shook a bottle of red which released the sediment, so he had to strain it through a sieve in front of us! He also took too long to serve the drinks, so we ended up pouring it ourselves.
So on balance for cost of this restaurant there are much better alternatives. At lease the restaurant ambience and setting is good!
Always a favourite
Unfortunately my dining experience was not as good as I’d expected. My meal was missing key ingredients as were described in the menu. After discussing this with a waiter I was told that the kitchen had been advised that I had personally requested to leave out mushrooms, etc. This was not the case.
After the error was finally acknowledged I waited only to be given the missing ingredients - not a fresh meal. By which time my meal had gone cold while I waited. No one enquired as to why I had not eaten my meal.
I am surprised as I’d only dined at the restaurant a couple of days before, I’d returned with another friend as I’d expected the same great experience as my first visit.
This is my third time which says a lot as I’m fussy and like to experience as many different London restaurants as I can.
Food was nice and not stupidly overpriced. One thing that was slightly annoying was the service as we had literally sat down, not even had a chance to look at the menu then we had the waiter there to take our order. Happened several times and then they tried to bring us the wrong food. I know Saturdays are busy but just seemed a bit of a mess in terms of serving and not feeling like you’re on a conveyor belt waiting to the thrown out the door.
Spent a lovely couple of hours with friends enjoying the cocktails and food. Would throughly recommend
Chaotic on front desk couldn't get served even though booked, people behind us who hadnt booked got spoken to before us, lovely menu, took an hour to arrive, fried eggs were swapped for poached when ordering but still arrived as fried, took half an hour for cup of tea and difficult to get noticed to pay the bill.
Lovely decor, lovely menu but need more staff who know the menu.
Living in Marlow. we have had the opportunity to test the delights of the Ivy chain - on our own High st - quite a few times over the last year. The Granary is having the same problems and needs to get them sorted or the reputation of the Ivy will suffer! Lovely environs...totally chaotic service. In both locations. You’d think the staff - who individually are very nice - had never met each other!
Good food, good service. Found the tables for 2 a bit close together.
What is this place trying to be? I think the Open Table description of noise level ‘energetic’ fails to adequately describe our experience at the Granary Square Brasserie. More like ‘loud’ where disco meets bar meets restaurant. The food is fine - the wine okay though the usual horrendous mark ups - the service friendly. Our bill for 3 came to £180 including 2 bottles of South African Shiraz. May be I am old so do not appreciate the nuances of the place though please decide what you want to be and if it is a restaurant then give us an opportunity to have a conversation without having to shout.
really fun girls evening - nice food, drinks and music
Very nice food. Great service. Definitely would go again.
Didn’t much like the music.
Great place! The halloumi dish is amazing! The interior is cosy and enjoyable.
Love the food here. My cocktail was shaken at the table, sauces poured for you and the chocolate pot absolutely delicious. We met for a family lunch and ended up staying over two and a half hours chatting, eating and drinking. We will definitely visit again.
Good, nice setting, food good enough. Location is great.
Good food and excellent service. Can be very noisy so go early if you want a quiet meal.
Good food, attentive service and great atmosphere for meal with a friend.
