Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse - DC
They are great in every aspect, food and service. Top notch steakhouse in DC!
On Saturday, Aug 17, 2019 i visited this place and my first intention was actually to look for a brunch but since their restaurant week menu was tempting so i decided to eat here. The atmosphere was inviting and cozy especially the bar. Here’s what i ordered: i picked lobster bisque to start and it was delicious. For second course, i had filet mignon with mashed potatoes. The steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked (medium rare). It was tasty and juicy. I had Belgian chocolate mousse for dessert and i loved it. BTW my Tito’s mule was perfect as well. Let’s talk about the service. My waiter, Xavier, was pretty attentive and friendly. I also need to give credit to the female manager (sorry i forgot her name) who approached my table and asked whether everything alright or no which i thought was very nice of her. Everything was excellent in this restaurant. I wish i could give more than 5 stars.
Everything was great. The carpaccio melted in your mouth and the prime ribeye was among the best I've ever had in my life. I told the waiter as much and the chef sent along a personal note. All in all, a perfectly wonderful experience.
The food was really salty and the service sucked.
Beyond disappointed. I come here often with friends for pleasure and for business. My meal, I had two clients in town and took them for lunch here. Our appetizers were fine, then it was about a 45 minute wait from then until our mains came. One of my clients’ steak was the wrong size. When we finally found our waiter, he made a new one. The new steak was cold inside! He ordered it medium rare plus, yet it felt like a refrigerator inside the steak. My other client ‘s steak was also incorrectly cooked. It took us until the end of our meal to find our waiter, who only came after we had to ask the neighboring waitress to help find him. What happened DF? Super disappointed.
It's always a great value during restaurant week. Very generous with our friend's birthday dessert.
Filet never disappoint
Pretty good restaurant. Potatoes were astounding. Steak was good. Cheesecake and lobster bisque, I desired more from. Woule be a good date night though.
I went here with a group of friends for dinner. We had done restaurant week here a year ago and had such a great time that we decided to come back. What a difference a year made. My bourbon neat showed up on the rocks, my friend’s French martini was undrinkable after two attempts so she went with a different drink. The two Caesar salad’s were not edible as the lettuce was stale and slightly brown. The 8 ounce filet mignon that one person ordered medium came back so undercooked that the middle was totally rare and cold. The waiter offered to take it back, my friend said she was concerned that it would come back overcooked but he promised that wouldn’t happen. And that’s exactly what happened so she ate no more than a few bites of it. The only good thing about the entire meal was our waiter who worked really hard to be friendly and helpful but even good service couldn’t save a meal this bad. We definitely will not be back. I understand it was restaurant week but that’s an opportunity for restaurants to market themselves to people who don’t normally eat there which is what brought us back. If that’s the goal, it was a definite miss on their part.
A little disappointed! I ordered the aged prime rib steak to be cooked medium well and it was practically ruined because the chef overcooked it. I also requested sautéed onions and mushrooms with my order but it did not come when my food was delivered to the table. Apparently, Adrian, my server forgot to put my request in. By the time the onions and mushrooms arrived, my steak had gotten cold. I was also disappointed that Adrian charged me for a side of onions $14 and a separate side of mushroom and onions $12.50. One side of onions and mushrooms would have sufficed for one cut of steak.
Outside of those issues, lunch was enjoyable. The cesar salad was satisfying and the strawberry cheesecake was light and delicious.
The food was good. First time I've been somewhere and wished i got the salmon instead of the steak
It was Restaurant Week so I think businesses should see this as an opportunity to gain new customers. I was highly disappointed. My entree was extremely salty - potatoes, filet and sauce - to the point where I didn’t finish because it was just too salty to finish. I told my server and the floor manager, nothing was done or offered. Customer lost here. For it to be of value, it needed to be an exceptional experience - it was not.
Went during RW so of course it was crowded which is to be expected. Even with the large crowds, we were seated about 10 min after our reservation time - I personally find anything up to 15 min acceptable. RW menu is a great value and the food was good - came out perfectly temped as we had ordered it. I did notice that the portions were a little smaller than previous RWs, but again reasonable given the huge discount. The only true negative for our meal was how dirty all the tables were around us. We came on the later side of things and as the tables around us got up there was little to no effort from the staff to clean them. Three tables in our direct line of sight emptied of guests within five min of us sitting down, but there was no effort to clear them throughout the duration of our meal.
The 8 oz Filet I got was done just right as medium rare, and it was juicy, flavorful and tender. This was by far the best filet I've had, and I've had my share of Filets at brand name steakhouses. The mashed potatoes was also perfect in portion size, taste & texture with herbs, butter & skin. And to top it off, their real strawberry studded cheesecake was phenomenal, the best I've had from all sources of cheesecakes (store Restaurant, local bakery, home-made retail) except homemade, but I maybe biased to anything homemade where I know the source/quality of the food ingredients. Overall a perfect meal and that to at DC RW prices. Value cant be beat at that price and I would happily pay regular price for such an experience!
Food was terrific. My steak was cooked perfectly to my request. Service was great. Overall it was an excellent experience. I would definitely go back.
Dined here during restaurant week for lunch! At $22 pre-fix 3 course meal, you can’t beat it! Ordered the lobster bisque- delish; 6oz filet- melt in your mouth perfection; chocolate mousse- every chocolate lovers dream!
I came for restaurant week and the restaurant was overwhelmed. I got there before the 12pm rush so I didn't think it would be that bad but it took forever to get our steaks. It took too long for them to bring out dessert that we had to leave (even though we asked to get it to go). I went back to pick up our desserts and the manager gave us one of each of the restaurant week desserts. I appreciate the kind gesture and that he was apologetic over the restaurant being overwhelmed. I probably wouldn't recommend coming during restaurant week at lunch, unless you have 2 hours to spend at lunch. Normally, the food and service is better and faster at lunch.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Del Frisco's, DC. The food was scrumptious, the service was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was nice. Since it is a high-end restaurant, I may not get their often, but I would certainly suggest it for special occasions.
I had the medallion duo, both sauces were delicious and perfectly cooked.
I asked for medium rare...hot pink center filet, instead received a well done hockey puck.
Steak was way undercooked the first time around. Better the second time. Very slow during lunch, but overall good experience
Had lunch here during restaurant week. It was an excellent value. Good food and the restaurant looked very nice. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying their other specialties.
Salad wasn’t as fresh as I would expect; also a bit much dressing for my liking. Dressing was good but nothing extraordinary.
Filet was tender and had good flavour but a bit over seasoned. I also had to send it back because it wasn’t cooked according to my request.
Dessert was good and presentation was lovely.
Terri let service and server. Food was average at best. Not interested in returning. Not worth the price, even with restaurant week.
The steaks were great, nothing special. The sides / salads were over dressed and nothing special. Cheesecake and chocolate mousse was okay again not special.
The food was extremely expensive but the flavors just weren’t there. The steak was way too salty/peppery for my taste and the Brussels sprouts were bland and lacking any sort of seasoning or flavor. Overall disappointed because the $200 meal wasn’t worth more than $75. Poor quality food for the price range. Also the DC restaurant week menu lacked options, I understand it’s a discount week but the only appetizer options on the pre fixe was Caesar salad or house salad? Also, all the entrees came with mashed potatoes and couldn’t be switched for anything else not even vegetables. Personally I dislike mashed potatoes so on top of the $35 deal we had to purchase an additional side of Brussels sprouts for $15 (which were awful.) I didn’t even finish eating because it was just tasteless. I found it bizarre for a high end place. Won’t be going back.
THIS WAS MY 1ST TIME THERE. THIS RESTAURANT HAS A LIFELONG CUSTOMER!!
Great experience service was awesome Ishaia was great
I took my mom and my boyfriend here for their birthdays on different occasions and was extremely satisfied both times. The service is great and the food is even better. The butter cake is also very delicious. Sometimes I come here with friends just to share a butter cake at the bar. I would definitely recommend.
Food was delicious as always, seated quickly. The service was just ok. Far from what I’m used to when dining at del frisco’s. No bread, didn’t ask if we’d been here before.”, didn’t go over any special dishes being served. Bought one butter cake out for 6 people to share with no spoons. Ordered additional cakes still I spoons. Wouldn’t be so bad but being gratuity was included in Bill I expected more
Great food quality and service
I am on a very strict diet... no sugar, no carbs, gluten free, low calorie, high protein... so it’s hard to find a good place that satisfies myself and my husband. While vacationing in DC, we wanted a nice meal before the ping drive home so I googled gluten free good food places to eat in DC and the Double Eagle came up first. So happy we have it try. The best filet mignon I have ever had. The meal was excellent and completely worth every penny! Looking forward to trying out the Double Eagle in Philly very soon.
Daniel was a great server but the host experience and the manager who did not even look at us as he did his take touch run by made the experience less than passable
Enjoyed celebrating my birthday! Food was delicious!
I love this restaurant! The food and the service is always outstanding. The staff have a thorough understanding of celiac disease and the risks of cross contamination with gluten and are very careful.
Great experience! Would definitely recommend to others.
We requested to take home the remainder of our food yet all of it was not given to us. I was very disappointed to know that I spent so much money on our meal only to get home to only a portion of it being in the bag.
First, the valet parking did not tell us it was cash only, but I'm sure they are a separate entity. The greeting upon entering was nice and they greeted us by name on our reservation. The manager was nice in greeting also. We were seated at a 2 person table in which we felt the chairs were to low for the table, but sufficient. Our waiter was nice and informative but lacked in timely refills of lemonade. At one point waiting on a refill, I witnessed him at the bar having a conversation and waiting another table before I received my refill. This was an anniversary lunch for us. I ordered the French dip with hand cut fries. Most of the fries were saturated with oil and although reordered, was not that much better. My husbands steak was overly salty and not being familiar with this restaurant, we were not aware that the seasoning used was salty. Later my husband asked the waiter about it and he was informed how to request the intensity of the seasoning(lite, none, etc). The manager came by to inquire on our orders, and I asked for a little more au jus, in which I felt he rudely corrected my pronunciation of the word. He knew what I was referring to, so why correct me. I did not receive it until almost time to go, in which I only ate half of the sandwich. We also ordered the steak salad entree' and the steak was dry, some of the avocado was brown, and the dressing was somewhat faint in flavor. We were given 2 deserts on the house by our waiter as an anniversary gift, that was a nice treat I must say. But we felt that the overall quality and experience was less than desirable and we felt we should have chosen another comparable restaurant. It was our first visit and most likely our last with this experience.
