The Spread Eagle
As of January 2018 The Spread Eagle became London’s first vegan pub with all our food, drinks, fixtures and fittings being plant-based and sourced sustainably where possible.
Our doors are open to everyone (families and dogs included) and we cater to all manner of lifestyles. Our fun & friendly staff are always on hand to make sure you feel welcome.
THERE IS NO DOUBT ABOUT THE SPREAD EAGLE HAVING THE BEST VEGAN MEXICAN FOOD IN THE COUNTRY. NO DOUBT AT ALL.
As a meat eater, I would also say this is a brilliant place to go with Vegan / Veggie friends. The food is so good and everyone can order everything. This is up there with the best Mexican food in the city full stop.
Really tasty vegan Mexican food. Friendly though slow service. Lovely interior though cramped where we were sitting
Tasty vegan food, friendly service.
Really great experience here. It is lively and has a feel good atmosphere. The music played was top notch and the service friendly and efficient. The food is a some of the best vegan variety around. Only downside is that it is quite pricey, but is London afterall.
Food was good but service was very slow - over 30 minutes for our drinks and they didn’t get our order quite right. Good and buzzy atmosphere though
Everything was fantastic! Best brunch I’ve ever had and the cocktails were wickedly good.
London’s first vegan pub is a real neighbourhood gem. I’m now a regular weekly visitor due to having a dear friend in the nearby hospital. I’m working my way through the interesting menu items and the wine is excellent. Nice mix of longtime locals and hipsters on the hunt for high quality vegan fare. Worth a visit.
Had a great meal. The staff were lovely and the Mexican food was amazing. Full to the brim and a beer each and it came to £20 each. Best of all it was all vegan. Lovely atmosphere too.
Absolutely wonderful meal for my partner’s birthday! Service was wonderful, amazing cocktails and exceptional food! Lovely ambience and venue. We’ll definitely be back, without a doubt!
Always really good food, and this time a return to really friendly service.
My partner is vegan, I am not. I really like food and am pretty fussy about what constitutes good cooking. The food was really really good. I don't usually leave reviews but feel compelled to. The food even made up for the fact that it was noisy and bustling. Service was great - professional and attentive, but slightly negatively affected by how busy it was.
Had the nachos, MFC burger and for dessert the deep fried ice cream. Everything was delicious, but loved the burger and I was really positively surprised by the black rice ice cream.
Food was excellent and a great selection of drinks.
Service was good, however I wasnt happy for the enforced service charge.
The website didn't have the brunch menu (checking on mobile, not sure if missed somewhere) so surprised to not see the standard menu when we arrived. However, this was fine. Food was excellent. Service was slow - took a while to have our order taken, food came out sides 1st, then mains. I had my main before the other 2 mains came out. Waited a long time for dessert.
Seated next to a large group for a birthday so wasn't ideal in terms of noise levels.
Would go again in the evening as we would have preferred the other main menu and like to support a vegan business.
Absolutely amazing food, cocktails and service. I would recommend to anyone wanting a delicious vegan feast.
Yummy food, good vibe, nice wait staff. Awesome to have such interesting vegan options.
too much deep frying but generally tasty and nice setting
A brilliant pub with amazing food. Attentive staff and good selection of drinks.
A pleasure as always - great food and an impressive array of ales
Great vegan food. Great beer.
I have to say I was disappointed. It was a very noisy and crowded pub. We went on a Saturday night and were told it was not as noisy other nights. Great for a pub night out but too much for a classy vegan dinner. The food was nice but not amazing. The service was excellent - very lovely people.
Loved it, delicious food, all vegan (woohoo!). Nice staff. A little bit noisy for a big get together.
Amazing place and amazing food! Highly recommended for everyone. It’s also dog friendly :)
Amazing time, food is just so delicious and bar staff were really friendly and helpful
Lovely place and great that everything is vegan so you can relax. But the portion sizes are so small, and they ran out of one of the sides, of which there were only 4, by 7.30! So we left feeling hungry.
Really nice pub, cool vibe, amazing food! I was still thinking about it the following day! My taste buds were having a party!
Even as a meat lover, this was amazing! Went for couples night and we had a great evening. Atmosphere and staff were lovely, too
Second visit and every bit as good as the first. Whole family came this time and even the non vegans said that the food was very tasty and appealing and that meat was not missed at all.
The food was great and I'll definitely be going there again
Food was really nice, just very small. Place itself was cute and the staff were really friendly.
Amazing food, drinks and atmosphere, couldn’t fault it.
Great food and vibe. Fantastic to see an entirely vegan pub. Loved it and will be back!
Friendly, likeable place. Good food and beer. A neighbourhood attraction.
Lovely food, really tasty vegan menu and my partner said the best dessert he's tasted in ages (fried ice cream in popcorn with chilli chocolate sauce). I'd definitely go back to try other things on the menu. Service was great too, very friendly.
Great food, lovely staff and a Prince shrine! You couldn't ask for much more.
Great food and service. We will be coming back :)
When the owner/ supervisor appeared, the atmosphere changed and staff seemed stressed out so we felt sorry for them (unnecessary pressure?)
Went for food and a catch up with a friend. Entire menu was vegan which was perfect but value for money was poor. Portions are tiny. Overall food is very creative and haven't seen vegan food like it before but don't turn up hungry
My wife and I had dinner at the Spread Eagle for our wedding anniversary a couple of nights ago and left very, very happy. The pub's main draw for us was its vegan status, and although there wasn't a huge range of food on the menu, we both found something that tickled our taste buds. The suggestions of what beers to have with the quesadillas was great (we both went for the 'chorizo' quesadilla), and we were glad of that cold pint, as they were very spicy (but not so spicy that it hampered our enjoyment of it - just). As our sides, we can highly recommend the triple-cooked potatoes and the tortilla chips and guacamole/ salsa. Next time we go there, we might try the burgers they have on offer (the 'fried chicken' one, especially).
There was a good range of lagers and ales, and even a decent-looking stout on tap (which I didn't try, as the weather was very warm), and we definitely plan to go back there at some point soon.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and complimented a relaxed atmosphere, and the decor is fantastic. Fully recommend the place.
On a damp Sunday evening it was busy but not rammed - I think you could've just rocked up and got a table although I would recommend booking.
Food was very tasty.
And vegan for anyone that doesn't know it's 100% vegan.
But portions weren't huge.
The burger came with nachos and looked a decent size.
The nachos was also a sharing portion.
But the tacos and chick'n wings needed chips to fill you up.
We shared a portion of spicy potatoes after our main meal!
Maybe we are just greedy :)
Cocktails and beers were fab of course
Great vegan food and drinks. Happy smiling staff and a chilled out crowd on a hot London evening. A pub local to us that we will visit again to go through the menu items we didn’t try that evening.
