Ruth's Chris Steak House was founded in New Orleans, Louisiana by Ruth Fertel, a single mother of two who wanted a better life for herself and her two sons. She purchased "Chris" steakhouse in New Orleans which had been operated for 38 years prior. She changed the name to Ruth's Chris when a fire forced her to move from the original location. Today, there are 142 Ruth’s Chris Steak House restaurants across the globe.

It’s hard to find if you’re not familiar with the location. Plus there’s no convenient elevator and it’s up a long flight of stairs. Food was happily very good. But, we find capital grille and Eddie V’s to be better.

Our appetizer order was not placed until after we had sat at the table for over 30 minutes. We were sat in the bar area where a karaoke contest was taking place by the drunk sitting at TABLES behind us. Because we were in the bar area we were completely ignored by our waiter. It took 30 minutes to get bread, SERVICE. The restaurant made it up to us by giving us free appetizers. Overall, The experience was not worth the time and effort.

We visited impromptu because of the $60 deal and sat at the bar and had a blast. The service was great and the food delicious.

Great experience, as always. Ryan was our server, and couldn’t have been better. Super attentive, polite and on top of everything! Management was great as well, as they always are!
