Mastro's Steakhouse - DC
1 year anniversary... great food, great live singers and overall nice!
Not only would I not go back, but I’d encourage others to find an alternative. Music is too loud. Steak, gnocchi and bread basket were good but the the creamed spinach tasted like it was store bought and the white cake was also lacking. When you leave an establishment with those prices, every aspect of the experience should be stellar. From the food to the service to the ambiance. That was just not the case. Overall you don’t get value for the price.
Amazing service and really friendly staff. It’s always a good time when I visit and the lobster mash potatoes are my fav!
Upon entering the establishment they did not like what we had on, and we were dress very classy. So they did not seat us in the main dining room they sat us in the bar area. So for that I was already a little annoyed, however I continued the night. We typically go DEL FRISCO’S for steaks but we decided to change it up. NEVER AGAIN!!!
The food was underwhelming and the appetizer selection was not good, However the server did a great job. What I gathered from this experience is that DEL FRISCO’s is a better establishment if you are looking for a great experience and great food
So If you are considering this restaurant it’s merely because of the name. My recommendation would be to go the DEL FRISCO’S I can’t stress that enough.
Excellent food and excellent service. Al was very attentive and knowledgeable.
Crab Gnocchi is insanely good.
Restaurant Week! Maestros has a fairly good selection.
Wonderful dining experience. We will definitely return.
Always a treat to go to Mastro’s! The steak was excellent and restaurant week is always a great way to enjoy a truly nice dinner because you can add that bottle of wine!
Mastro’s is a wonderful restaurant. It is great for small or large parties. The food, service, and ambiance were perfect. I can’t wait to go back.
While the food was excellent, the service needs improvement.
Nice change of venue for restaurant week. I liked the spin on the Caesar salad; the blackened salmon and lobster mashed potatoes were to die for; and the butter cake just melts in your mouth.
Enjoyed DC Restaurant Week at Mastro’s. Our roasted brussel sprouts were over cooked, some extremely charred; overall the dinner and ambiance was great. We enjoyed our time there and I hope to visit again in the near future.
Would recommend only in Houston, LA and NYC. The DC location is okay. The steak lacked flavor and it was overcooked. The sides were basic nothing spectacular. The top 3 locations above have amazing sides and the steak is 10/10. This steak was 5/10. Better steak houses in the dmv....
Since it was restaurant week, my boyfriend and I decided to try out Mastro’s. It completely blew all of our expectations out the water. To top it off, our server, Al was PHENOMENAL and definitely made our dining experience that much better! An absolute great night! Well done!
The food was excellent. The ambiance was nice, except that it was extremely loud (so much so, that it was a little difficult to hear someone sitting across from you). The service was decent, but I expected a bit more attentiveness given the prices and caliber of the restaurant.
Came during Restaurant week with family & Friends from out of town. Food was delicious but had a limited menu selection for restaurant week. Waiters were nice and friendly but disappeared several times.
All was great, top food, great wine recommendation, effective aervice
I have visited Mastro's before, but never during restaurant week. I was pleasantly surprised with the restaurant week options. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Overall it was a great experience.
The food was fantastic. The ambiance was great and the service was excellent. Our waiter Rice was fantastic.
Excellent food and service. Two major concerns about the environment: 1) The music was extraordinarily too loud for this type of restaurant, where patrons (particularly but not limited to business) are likely to want to talk and be heard. Lower volume, jazz-like music in this restaurant is highly encouraged for DC restaurant goers. 2) Some of the tables--particularly those along the left walk-way are too darkly lit. I had to switch seats to read the menu clearly.
Great meal, great service and overall great experience!
Rice was the absolute best waiter. The food was delicious!
Some of the side dishes are WAY overpriced. We ordered lobster mashed potatoes that cost $38. That is entirely too much for mashed potatoes and a few pieces of lobster. Also, you should brief your customers of what the seasoning is because we did not care for the old bay seasoning, nor did we expect it on mashed potatoes.
The drink that is your server Rice’s speciality is AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING
Great setting, live music, great service
$63 steak swam in butter, full of gristle; did not taste like grilled meat. Tasted pan fried in butter. Waste of moneys.
The staff from the greeter/hostess bartender and especially the wait staff was excellent. This was me and my guests first time visit there and we all said the same thing, that this will not be our last time coming there. Please pass KUDO's to all of the staff for helping make our my business lunch as success. I will highly recommend your restaurant to all of my colleagues and friends.

It’s was my boyfriends birthday and they truly made the celebration extra special. Wine list is amazing 😉
Excellent overall. Their bone in ribeye is excellent - it’s large but two people can share. The lobster mashed potatoes, creamer spinach and au gratin potatoes are so good. The cheeecake and butter cake are also a win.
I went to Mastro’s for a special birthday dinner. I had indicated there was a birthday in the reservation and they handed the “birthday boy” a card as soon as we sat down.
Other highlights were the sides serve 2-3 people so the portion is quite generous for the cost.
In addition, the wait staff were amazing and even brought us a comped slice of birthday cake even though we were stuffed from dinner.
Wonderful staff and even better food!
My family and I enjoyed ourselves. The food and atmosphere was great. We definitely will be back.
My complaint is why ask if we are celebrating a special occasion and not translate the information to our waiting staff! They called me several times to confirm my reservations and stated that I was celebrating my wife’s birthday but nothing was set up! I then told the receptionist once we got to the restaurant and still nothing!!! I told the second waiter we had and he said no one told him anything. We came all the way from Dallas for this restaurant and I expected better service! Great music!!!
I have gone to Mastro's numerous times and have always been pleased. This time there was a few issues but the restaurant took care of it. I would say that maybe looking at the temperature of the restaurant will be helpful. It was so cold that it was hard to really enjoy our food. I kept going outside to warm up but my time I got back inside I was freezing again.
The food took too long to arrive, so we missed the movie we planned to see. The food was delicious, so we still enjoyed the evening.
Mastro's was amazing. Very personable and friendly staff. Food was great!
Everything was excellent and the truffle gnocchi was exceptional. The only reason it wasn’t 5 🌟 was because during our visit the air conditioning had an issue. If i could rate 4.9 i would
Went for a graduation celebration. Food and service was excellent. A little loud but not bad. Would definitely go again.
there is nothing about this evening that was not terrific. The lobster mashed potatoes are just too delish to describe.
then having the signature butter cake for dessert....beyond fabulous.
