Prelude + Post offers an unbeatable location for theater-goers at the DCPA, with "excellent service" and a "convenient" spot for pre-show dining. Highlighted dishes include the "steak frites" and "scallop appetizer." While some reviews mention inconsistent food quality and service, the overall experience remains appealing for its proximity to the theater.

The location is ideal for pre theater shows. It was very busy, poor service, understaffed. However the manager was very apologetic and made good on our dining experience. We’ll go again but earlier to enjoy our meal and not rush to theater.

Ordered full size Caesar salad with chicken. Serving size more like a side salad and chicken dry and flavorless. Worst entree I’ve experienced.

Prelude & Post is a nice restaurant. Good brunch menu. I'm a season ticket holder for the Denver Center for Performing Arts and Prelude & Post is in a good location to eat a nice meal and then walk a few steps to the theater.

Not a great experience. Service was okay. For the restaurant to be directly across from the Buelle theatre and not be prepared for Saturday night business is honestly not good. It says a lot about management and how the restaurant is run. Food wasn't bad but didn't have time to have an entrée because the kitchen and bar were backed up. Won't be back and won't recommend.

We had a reservation for 2 but they sat us at a table with two other people. It took 25 minutes for water to be brought to our table (after drinks arrived when we requested the water when placed our order). My wife’s pork chop was undercooked, but it took so long for our food to come out, we did not have time for her to get another meal. They were also out of carrots, so they subbed brussel sprouts, which were almost raw. Manager comped her meal and gave us a voucher for $$ off next time we go, but I do not think we will be back. Waitstaff tried delivering food to us multiple times that wasn’t ours, I saw at least 4 other dishes sent back by tables around us and staff seemed overwhelmed with the amount of customers. The fact we made a reservation for a table for two for a special occasion and were sat with strangers with no explanation or apology was not ideal to say the least. Very poor experience and we do not think we will go back.

This is the second time they were out of several keys items on the menu by 6:15PM and that is inexcusable. The Airline chicken was way overcooked, dry and tasteless and the scallops were undercooked. We used to love this place but after these last two experiences, we won't be back!

Worst meal ever! Had the gnocchi. Most vile thing around. The place only had Caesar salad. Ran out of food. They were out of every salad except Caesar. We were there at 5!!!! Before we left they were running out of other entrees also. How can a restaurant run this way. BEWARE!!!!

Prelude & Post is a staple restaurant for us before going to see a play at the Buell Theatre due to the great location in the same plaza. On this particular visit the lights in the dining area seemed to be brighter showing a worn carpet. Our dining experience was not very pleasant due to wanting to cool off from being out in 90 degree weather, but it felt like the air conditioning was turned off or not working. Great Customer Service by host and server, however I ordered the meatballs for the first time and they must have been sitting out all day or overcooked, hard to cut and bite into them. Flavor was good, but was hoping for something more fresh. We will be back, but hoping for a better experience on our next visit.

Such a strange experience! First puff our server Cami was excellent- she was kind, attentive, funny, and really wanted to make sure my friend and I had a great meal experience. A+ for her! The food was really good- steak frites and trout were both really well prepared. The atmosphere was the disappointing part. There is literally no atmosphere in the dining room we are in. Harsh lighting like I’m in an office building, nothing on the tables, gross grey stained carpet and grey walls. It felt like a hospital cafeteria. It’s too bad because this place is the perfect location and has a great menu!

I made a reservation the day before on OpenTable. I was not informed that I would be sitting at a community high top table. I am handicapped and cannot sit at a high top table. I also do not appreciate sitting at a community table. Fortunately, I was able to call another nearby restaurant and get an immediate reservation. There needs to be a way for you to notify people if their reservation is for a high top table or community table.
