The Hole In The Wall
Great venue, great service. Good menu. Could do with a few more beers on tap.
Disappointing. A cold day in a cold room, the doors open to kitchen and full view of the Gents.
We asked to move next to the radiator, it was barely warm. Bouillabaisse tasty, mackerel ok, bream with mango salsa unusual, however mango turning up again as "custard" with pear tart with appalling soggy pastry revolting. Our annIversary treat very disappointing.
Great food, vegan options were very good including vegan bread.
Such a pleasure to eat quality food in a lovely atmosphere and have the choice of 3 different veggie/vegan options (rather than the usual 1 option). The food was interesting, well presented and very tasty. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Will definitely be making this one of our regulars.
Good food good atmosphere good value. Friendly staff and the location of ideal.
Top class food and service. Couldn't fault this place at all. Can't wait to go back.
Birthday lunch with girlfriends. Appears to be in the middle of no where but actually only 15 minutes from Cambridge.
Small dining room so has a quiet atmosphere. Service was accommodating and friendly including a complimentary small dessert with candle for the birthday girl. Food was simple but tasty.
Lovely cosy dining pub, excellent and friendly service. Food and Wine was great and good value for the fine dining type of food served. Loved the fact that a generous selection of veg to go with the mains was served for the table, at no extra cost. So many places now charge all this kind of thing on top. Wished we lived closer!
Had Sunday roast dinner here. Was really lovely, good potatoes which is always a win! Had a pram with us too which they accompanied for. Quick service too.
Great location and stop on service. We found the food reasonably prices and very tasty! Would certainly recommend.
Nice cosy bar to have drink in before meal. Dined in the smaller restaurant section which was nice and quiet. Good service, but food was disappointing. My steak was average, and my wife's pork dish was poor. It was supposed to be accompanied by a pea puree which was actually mushy peas, and the caramalised apple and pear was oversweet and did not appear to be homemade.
Excellent food in a cosy and comfortable setting. Does the gastropub thing well :)
Good food, fairly priced and well presented. Some of the flavours were a little underwhelming but in general a good dining experience
Food and service were excellent, however, the bottle of wine ordered was brought to the table half full. This was brought to the attention of the person in charge and was quickly rectified to our satisfaction.
Sticky toffee pudding could have been a more reasonably sized portion.
Poor negligent service (it took 15mins for them to notice we were there and unable to take a complete correct order), poor food (rubbery mushrooms, tedious nut roast, soggy Yorkshire puddings and stale crumble) made for a poor experience. We will not return
Lovely to be back at The Hole in the Wall under new management. We enjoyed the Sunday carvery are looking to go back at Xmas or New Year
food good and staff were great and very good at what they do
Very enjoyable evening and the food and service were excellent. Will definately book again in the very near future.
This was the first time back in this lovely pub since it’s revitalisation and it was a pleasure to be there. Superb ambience and lovely team contributed to this being a welcome return. The food was excellent and I thought really good value. We’ll certainly be back sooner rather than later.
the food was great and the service was really good staff very polite and the food was mouth watering and the hole in the wall was great
