Oceanaire Seafood Room - DC
It was great food and great double date. The food was delicious and worth a return trip soon. The waiter was great she was on top of everything. There was no complaints.
They never disappoint! The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
My birthday ended with a phenomenal dinner with amazing service from Maynor!
I have been plenty of times but the last time the food was not as great as usual and the staff seemed very unfocused on the customer experience.
This restaurant is the bee's knees! Wonderful service and classy atmosphere. The food is a bit on the pricey side but well worth it. Highly recommended!
Food and Service were very good. We went during restaurant week - so the cost was more reasonable than it would be normally, so a good value. It is a good place to eat if you are attending a performance at the Warner theater.
Great and friendly service.
Very enjoyable dining, exquisite food selection as well as friendly and courteous service .
From the moment we entered the restaurant the service was impeccable and top notch. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that likes food! And the cocktails were soooo yummy!!!
Had an AMAZING experience! Loved the intimate atmosphere and the food was delicious.
Went for restaurant week and the menu had pretty good selections! Food and service was great and I’ll definitely be returning.
The food was amazing. Everything about the place was great. If you’re coming here, you’ll love it.
Food was top notch. Although this was my first time there, it lived up to expectations. Great selections.
Not worth the price. Salmon was overdone; sauteed spinach was extremely salty.
RW Menu was extensive selections and generous portions. Our lovely lady server was excellent also. We are experienced and seasoned diners—and this was impressive
Oceanaire was very good. I would recommend the restaurant. I went there with three friends that were visiting for restaurant week. We had a good time. The restaurant is well appointed. The selection was very good for the three restaurant week courses. I like the ambience. My only concern, and the reason that is rated four rather than five is because the service by the waiter was only average. No attention to the table, and we had to wait a long time before the third course, and we had to call the waiter over to let him know that we needed our final course.
As usual, I enjoyed my food.
Stephanie is an excellent server!!! The Cobb salad was good too.
VALET WAS BAD BUT THE MANAGER , ANDREW CLEARED UP EVERYTHING AND GAVE US A COMPLIMENTARY BEVERAGE!
Manager came and greeted us after our meal. Other than being under the AC the food was good!
There was a sense of high customer appreciation and satisfaction when you arrive at the restaurant. From the valet, hostess, bar staff, and servers everyone greeted us with pleasantry and high quality. The food was superb. This was my first visit. I was impressed with the glamor and nostalgia of the restaurant’s interior. It reminded me of a scene in a 1940’s supper club. I can not wait to come back for a date night.
Absolutely love this restaurant. My out-of-town guest can't stop talking about the food and the evening out. Oceanaire is a winner!
The crab soup had me feeling underwhelmed, fish tacos were tasty but cold, best part of meal was the dessert.
Ask for Shadrack. He is the best waitstaff I have encountered there
Oysters were outstanding. Of the 12 varieties offered, we tried eight, two of them good, four excellent, and two amazingly big, salty and delicious.
Excellent !!!! We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and couldn’t have asked for better service from the attendants, server, and manager.
We will return!
Disappointing visit. Been many times. Great service, mediocre food, very expensive for a plain fish dish. Love the place for its atmosphere, just didn’t feel it was good enough from the foods perspective.
Food was great, service could have been a little better!
It was fantastic! Would definitely recommend! Fantastic service!
Our server Nelson was awesome. We started with the South African huge prawn which was ok. Kinda dry though. We also had the shrimp and grits which was amazing. The flavor was off the charts. Our entrees were just ok. I had the pan seared chicken which needed seasoning. My wife had king crab which was good. The sautéed spinach was awful. We didn’t eat it. The kicker however was the bug that crawled across the tablecloth on my wife’s side!!! Not sure what it was other than it had no wings and was brown!!!!! We moved to the bar where the manager came over and apologized and offered drinks and dessert. They did the right thing and they were very apologetic. Probably won’t visit again.
I love Oceanaire. The staff is friendly and the food is excellent. They catered to our group and made the experience outstanding. They even made a non menu item for my 97 year old grandmother.
This is an extremely nice, upscale restaurant. It is also hideously expensive. I often eat at expensive restaurants and I must say I’ve never seen a Dover sole listed for $67 before. I had the halibut and it was $47. It was by no means a large portion. Again, an upscale restaurant that just seemed a bit too expensive.
I was so excited to take a friend to the restaurant and then so disappointed that the service was less than adequate and food average. I've been to several Oceanaire and always excellent food and service. This is also the first negative review I've given any restaurant. Perhaps it was an off night but the server actually tried to blame his mistakes on us..for example we ordered raw oysters and when he brought the entree, he said "oh yeah the oysters are shucked, I'll bring them - I told him I didn't want them as they were to be an appetizer and he said well they are shucked and I guess I'll try to cancel them since you changed your mind - WHAT! Same thing happened when I ordered another wine and had to ask several times for it...he said - you're going to drink another glass??? That's two of many mistakes with continual excuses and blame. I'll not be back to this one in DC
Many people do not visit Oceannaire any longer, but I am not sure why that is the case. Every time I am there, the fish is just outstanding.
BEST RESTAURANT EVER !!! FOOD WAS AMAZING!!! OMG SO GOOD !
Excellent wait staff
Service was great. Food was a disappointment.
I have food allergies and had to be very specific and limiting about what I could eat. Asked for the Alaskan wild caught salmon to be grilled plain with nothing else on it.
The fish arrived with a dry, rubbery surface and undercooked center. It’s disheartening to have such a simple request turn out so badly.
Sides are typically priced family size. The rest of the menu had interesting and diverse options for seafood and meats.
The oyster selection was good. They have a chef’s choice with 6 oysters that drops the price per oyster by a dollar. Very fresh tasting and presented nicely on ice.
