What Insiders Are Saying
Agora is often overlooked for trendier spots in Dupont, but the Mediterranean food here is pretty good. Use it for a last-minute meal.
Food was okay.
I love Agora! The food is amazing and it’s pretty reasonable. However, do not go when you’re in a hurry. The service is pretty slow. This is fine when you plan for it and want to take your lunch at a leisurely pace.
Could be bc of restaurant week - there aren’t r ought servers. Food for each of our party of 3 did not come out together. And it was cold when it arrived.
Restaurant week - service was good, food was good although I didn’t like my main (I like lemon but it was very overpowering on the shrimp). I would return but just order something different next time.
Only fault was my husbands starter came out before mine, so it went cold while waiting and then again with the mains. Poor timing with kitchen safe.
HAPPY HOUR WAS GREAT: I tried every single dish with my friend (2 of us) and we were very satisfied with the tapas. We had the lamb sausage, shrimp taco, brisket taco, and pita bread with dips. ALSO I loved the cherry mule! Great twist on Moscow mule and it was a refreshing and delightful drink to have. Not to mention they have great music :)
I'd never been to Agora, but had heard great things from friends who frequent. I was NOT disappointed! Looking forward to returning again.
I took my mom here for bottomless brunch and it did not disappoint! Truly great
Great value and great portion sizes
Incredible pita and baba ganoush!
Solid brunch with unlimited mimosas PLUS one chase cocktails.
This place is usually great but this time it was incredibly disappointing. We were there for brunch and the service was really slow, the waiter rarely came to our table and our table was rarely cleared. They were incredibly stingy with the pita bread (a requirement for dips). We ended up finishing our dip order with no bread because after 4 times of asking (and not receiving) for a refill they gave us 2 pieces for our table of 8. Once we were finished eating we were not approached by staff for about 45 min. Very disappointing.
We got 5 small plates for 2 people, which was a bit more than we needed. The scallops were excellent. I'd say everything else was very good. The ambiance was good, and we had a relaxing dinner.
John the bartender was very attentive, friendly, and fun. Best brunch in dc! Will be back. Service was top notch. Thank you
Best place for bottomless brunch, all you can eat and drink for $40. Really great service and food!
Delicious tapas in a fun environment. Service was outstanding
It took a while for my party to be seated but other than that everything was perfect
Everything was great! Perfect dinner out
A hidden gem. Authentic high quality Mediterranean dishes. Rich and flavorful not watered down versions of the classics. Relaxed atmosphere with very professional service. Chef so committed that he came out to gently ask customers if everything to their satisfaction and smiled broadly when the answer was a resounding “Yes!”
Tasty food, but for bottomless brunch - extremely inattentive. Our food order was forgotten about, we saw the server so infrequently we were barely able to order more than our first drink, and by the time we could place our order, many of the items we'd been waiting on were sold out.
Food was amazing. PERIODT!
Sat inside for dinner, very cool design. Menu choice great - food even better.. highlight were the cheese with honey, lamb chops and the octopus. We were looked after by Lucino, very sweet ! Recommended a great Greek wine with undertones of honey.
Loved the restaurant and have recommended it to all my local colleagues in DC.
Food good, service ordinary. Welcome was good. Ordered a bottle of wine. Server came back with 2 glasses but no wine. Bottle sat at the bar for at least 10 minutes before server brought it to our table.
This was my first time visiting for Brunch. The food, service and atmosphere were great! The room got a bit loud at points, but overall, a fun experience.
I really love the dinner and would eat there every night, but this brunch was not it. The bottomless alcohol including liquor was nice, but I didn't eat anything I liked. It's so different than dinner, which, again, I'm a very big fan of.
Food and service was outstanding. We can’t wait to go back.
This was my first experience at this restaurant, and I had bottomless brunch. It’s now at the top of my list for a bottomless brunch experience in DC. $40 for unlimited food and drinks (including mixed drinks!) is an unbeatable price. After roughly four items, drinks or food, you’ve got your money’s worth.
The service Zeynep provided was outstanding. Even with a packed house, there was food on the table and refills poured faster than we could even ask for them. I appreciated her recommendations on food, and her patience in such a packed restaurant.
The food was great, I would recommend the flatbreads, bacon, and arugula salad as my top choices. Definitely a great place to continue ordering the menu items since they come in what I would consider tapas sizes (as do most DC bottomless brunches).
Restrooms were clean and well attended to, even with tons of patrons who were drinking heavily.
I would highly recommend this for a brunch gathering and will definitely be back soon.
I am from Turkey and the brunch made me nostalgic of home! I got to eat pide (bread) with beyaz peynir (white cheese/feta), kasar (aged cheddar), and zeytin (olives). Though pretty pricey for the quantity you get, I could tell that it was authentic ingredients (the olives were clearly in brine before being served and the feta was definitely from full fat milk and came in water). Overall they did a great job combining Turkish classics with American favorites, such as their Pastirma Benedict (Turkish pastrami is popular breakfast item but eggs Benedict doesn't exist in Turkey, though it is an American favorite). It felt like experiencing the combination of cultures I am accustomed to in food form!
Enjoyed the squid and octopus! The fresh delicious pita and spread was lovely. Wonderful service. Noise level made conversation a little challenging.
Food is good. Waiters try to ups sell you on the number of tapa plates you need to order. Our waiter was busy and did not visit often. Drinks are poorly made and portions are very small for the price. Lots of hype, has a chance of being great but needs a little more attention to detail when it comes to service and bar tending.
Love everything form the environment, the service and the food
Our server Borack was amazing! He recommended great drinks and was so friendly. My friend and I split the sampler spreads which were all incredible. We can’t wait to go back and bring the Mediterranean family!
We loved our brunch here; Can, our server, was very nice and attentive. We will certainly be back!
Surprisingly good for brunch!
The food was good, but not as special as I was hoping. The bartenders were very nice and helpful. The busboy was excellent. Our waitress could not give a damn about us. She took our order OK, and the food was delivered OK, but she seemed about as aloof as she could be (and she rolled her eyes when I asked her to please place to alcohol on a separate check). (Hey, my business expects that!)
Don't know why we waited so long to try this restaurant. Food was superbly prepared and very delicious, not excess oil, salt, or overpowering garlic. We had several appetizers/small plates (hummus, lamb sausages, grape leaves, falafel, helim cheese, lamacun) and shared a main dish of stuffed eggplant. We'll be back for more.....!
Service was slow and we could not order specifics from the bottomless menu, they would just keep bringing it all out. It was also very loud in the side room. Other than that I enjoyed the food and drinks.
We had a lovely brunch on the outdoor patio. The food was excellent, but it was the attentive service from all staff (especially our server) that really stood out. He was busy but we always had what we needed. He was friendly and professional throughout and very kind to send out a dessert when he heard it was my birthday. I would have written a glowing review anyway, but that was a nice surprise when we were ready to leave. BTW the sweet potato hash is amazing! I love that the patio is covered so we were always shaded, but the breeze comes through. Small plate servings are small, so take that into account when ordering, but everything was yummy.
Food is very good. Small plates so about 2 plates per person - maybe three for some. Fairly reasonable. Hangar steak was very good so was the shrimp - garides rawa !! The ambience was great noise level a little higher than I would like but to be expected in the summer while being seated outside - all in all a wonderful experience !
Lovely dinner in a fun, festive environment. The food was really delicious.
Very flavorful tapas with very interesting price. The place to go there to eat. We are from Belgium and it was good to spend less money for the eat and with a very good quality
