Great food and drinks! Neighborhood gem.
Food was amazing. The biscuits and jelly is a must have as a starter. For my main meal, I had the shrimp and grits. Super tasty!
Our waiter was so awesome today! He went above and beyond and made our little 3.5 year old so happy. Thanks to the chef for his soft heart, too!
This is a must for anyone in the Arlington area. Perfect for date night or a evening with friends. High praise for the folks at Green Pig Bistro.
Fabulous! Our server was terrific. Attentive without being aggressive, great on recommendations, and super nice. Also loved the atmosphere. Food was terrific!
The waitress was aces. Really kind and thoughtful and patient. The best.
Best food in Arlington. I have never had a bad meal here.... Go to place for celebratory meals.
My favorite restaurant in the DC/NOVA area!! Food is amazing and service is excellent! Perfect for anyone tons of options! The Tuna appetizer is off the charts good!
The menu looked amazing but everything was underwhelming. The flavors were bland. I ordered the Fried Chicken special and it was flavorless. The mac and cheese was nothing special. The fried shrimp starter was the best part by far. Our waiter also kept forgetting about us too. I would not go back.
Went for Sunday brunch with a bunch of friends. Ordered cinnamon buns to share, which were dense and not tasty, especially once they got cold. Portions were generous, and service was friendly and prompt. Food came out in a timely manner, with all special requests adhered to. Did not feel rushed to clear out after we finished eating which is always nice. Overall the breakfast centric food items that the table ordered were good (e.g. grits, egg sandwiches, yogurt parfait, etc.).
The food is always delicious and the atmosphere wonderful The staff is friendly and efficient.
first time there, overpriced for the quality and quantity of food...$14 sangria was a glass of ice and two sips of sangria...salads small and very simple but fresh. would rather try another place than come back again.
The appetizer of pork ribs was delicious -- although it could use a little more bleu cheese. Gazpacho was good as well. The scallops entree was good, but not exciting.......the pancetta dust made the dish altogether too salty. I wasn't able to tell my server, as she did not come to check back on me. I would have probably exchanged it for something else because the saltiness took away from the taste of the pea puree and from the scallops themselves.
I would suggest that GREEN PIG should keep tracking the confirmed reservation of the customer since I have made the reservation through Open table on July 14 at 6:30 pm and it went through. But Green PIG front receptionist argument me that Open Table made a mistakes to the wrong date and they did not find and check their screen and did not let me in. It is disappointing. They could not check their own screen and complained about open tables and refused the customer to accept the reservation. They later realized they made the mistake and took me to the table. Time wasted and felt terrible hospitality.
Really nice brunch. Loved the biscuits. Soooo good.
This is a great neighborhood restaurant which we have been going to since they first opened. Glad to see they are now open for lunch. One recommendation though, please juggle up the menu. While there are some minor variations, a lot seems to have been on the menu for a while now.
While I requested a table in the back of the restaurant when I made the reservation we were seated in the bar area. When I asked the hostess I was told a large party showed up and was given the back. I asked what the purpose of making a reservation was and being asked, to which I was told she’d check but never got back to me.
The waiter, aka the bartender, two of them for the entire area had to be flagged down twice. And it took him about 15 min to even take our order.
The bathroom was a mess; water and towels on the floor. The only urinal had painters tape over it with a sign that it was out of order. The sink area had flakes off paper towels all over it. Oh, and the paper towel dispenser was empty. There was a sign that read “trash” with a down arrow - it seems management has trouble before with a messy bathroom. I’m sure any restaurant bathroom that doesn’t get looked after would look like that no matter how nice of an establishment.
My fried chicken appetizer was served on an over baked biscuit. The honey was completely dominated by the hot sauce which had oil bubbles in it from the oil dripping off the chicken. My flash fried and braised pork shank was so fatty I had about four bites before pushing it off the side. Under it was cream spinach reminiscent of grocery store brand frozen cream spinach. The cinnamon bun bread pudding was bland and underwhelming.
I was at this place over a year ago and I ate at the bar and the food and service were good. I’m not sure what happened and I don’t care. I will never eat there again and suggest you don’t either.
Great Brunch Menu! Homemade cinnamon rolls are awesome!
There are some very good items on the menu and some less so, but overall the food is quite good and reasonably priced. One issue that is bothersome - and most restaurants are guilty of - is the use of unsalted butter for the breads. It is widely known that nearly 50% of the population's taste buds react to unsalted butter as if it were rancid. It spoiled a brunch when the toast was already pre-buttered.
Very nice neighborhood restaurant. We both ordered fish and they were excellent.
Bethany has a wonderful attitude and always does a great job! Great food, great service!
Hostess was very accommodating by not sitting the 6 of us in the extremely loud bar area and found a table in the very loud dining room. Food was as good as always (e.g., snails snack, scallops, hangar steak) but the service was average. Two guests ordered burgers, one medium and one well done; the server assured us which was which but he was wrong. We had to wait several minutes for our waitress to come by and another 10-15 minutes to replace the dinner. We also had to ask for water refills. Finally, 2 of the 3 checks had the tip included.
Food good, service slow, super loud
Waitress was amazing and very impressed with brunch options- will be back again!
Best restaurant in Arlington and DC area. I eat here often and highly recommend. Great menu that changes often. The buffalo ribs and tuna appetizers are amazing!
We eat at Green Pig often and it is great. This night was a big exception. Our waitress was pleasant but she completely disappeared mid meal. The French fries were a greasy mess and the shrimp special was tasteless. We spoke to the manager who actually admitted the fries have been bad for 2 days running and no one knows why! He took 2 dollars off our bill. I was not happy with the experience and the lack of caring by management. It will be a long time before we return.
Awesome food, great service. Always love eating at the Green Pig!
Always a treat.
The pork chops and country fried steaks are delicious. However, the side portions are lacking.
I would suggest that opentable and GREEN PIG need to have a better communication since i went to GREEN PIG again yesterday through opentable reservation confirmation GREEN PIG did not find my reservation and they hold me for 20 minutes at the front not checking and not letting me find my colleagues at a table who have already had and sat at the table inside which was reserved under my name This is bad.
Great food, friendly service and charming ambiance. It got a bit loud as the place filled up but definitely worth returning to.
I am so sad to write this negative review. I have been to Green Pig Bistro a few times, and have had great experiences. However, this past Sunday we visited for Father's Day Brunch, and were hugely disappointed. The service was absolutely terrible - it took nearly 20 minutes before our drink orders were taken, and another 20 for the coffee to arrive at our table. The waiter never came back to refill the coffees or to take orders for additional drinks. My order was completely messed up, eggs were done the wrong style and sausage instead of bacon. An extra side of bacon never game for my kids. Ketchup never arrived for the tater tots or chicken. My husband's breakfast sandwich was covered in mayonnaise and almost to terrible to eat. All of this, and when our check was delivered, come to find out a 20% gratuity was included (we were a party of 8). I believe this is why we had such terrible service. There was no reason for our waiter to cater to our needs! I don not think I will be returning here any time soon, especially for brunch!
Father's Day Brunch gave us fluffy eggs, super-rich yet delicious grits infused with cheddar cheese and thick, flavorful biscuits (although I would have liked the cream cheese and jam served separately). Staff was great at accommodating our extra requests (mostly changes in sides to make healthier choices). Steak was cooked exactly as ordered. Coffee was declared to "the best" by one member of the party and the Ginger Brew was light and not-too-sweet. Total bill was very reasonable given the huge portions (this is not a place where you watch your waistline, but it isn't meant to be). Setting is interesting and has a nice funky feel, but, as with so many places these days, too loud. The concrete floors, open ceilings and kitchens and piped music makes conversation challenging. I wish restaurateurs would address this more. Worth a second visit if I wasn't a vegetarian.
My daughter and I had eaten here before and thought the food was amazing. On this visit, she had the diver scallops and said they were excellent. I had the special- Cioppino. It was good but nothing special and I thought the portion was small for a main course - a few mussels & clams in tomato broth with a small piece of salmon and 2 small pieces of toast.
Went back for the best chicken and waffles
Overall good food. I had to send my veal chop back because it was too rare, but not a big deal. The tuna, avocado appetizer was awesome.
The staff is friendly.
I dined with a friend on a Wednesday evening. The place was packed and energetic, but in a good way -- there was plenty of personal space to enjoy the meal and have a good conversation. The service was friendly and food came out reasonably quickly given the crowd. The food was great, something like comfort food with an emphasis on pork. Be warned that if you do not like pork this is not the place for you! Good beer and mixed drink selection would make this a good after-work spot to enjoy some time with colleagues.
charming menu, decoration, waitstaff, hostess. A trendy place and my current go-to place in Arlington
Yum! Sitting at the chef’s table with a view into the kitchen was mesmerizing. Each dish is plated with precise certainty and looks better than the one before it. Well balanced dishes and thoughtful menu. Incredible how this restaurant mixes fine dining with the casual weeknight experience. Great for “just because” nights out and celebrations.
