   We had a great time there. Destiny, our server, was excellent. The food was amazing. So worth it to go during Oyster Happy Hour. Just came back from a road trip in Maine and their lobster roll was one of the best I’ve had! It can compete with the best of them!

   Ford Fry needs to incorporate more veggies in his dishes! We tried the trout ceviche, redfish, and collar fish, which were ALLLL delicious! But small portions and only jicama slaw available as veggie. Excellent service and loved sitting outside. Just could be more complete dishes for such a high price.

   Sadly the quality of food and service has changed from the opening of Beetlecat. It was one of my favorite restaurants in town and after our experience there last night, I don’t think we will be returning. After ordering a dozen ($150) of oysters, we were given 8 crackers and a tiny dollop of cocktail sauce and mignonette. Not even enough to use on the 12 oysters. They had run out of lemon too. Seems like Ford Fry has been too busy working on his restaurant empire and forgotten about one of his classics. Sad!

   It was interesting, first we are seated then the hostess proceeds to take our order like she is the server. 15 mins later our actual server shows up, no problem! This was probably our 8th time there so we order the same dishes most times. We got the fried rice and it was soo salty we didn’t even finish it. Ofcourse we did not send it back, just decided to get the check and leave. When the server brought us our check she tells us she’s going to wait at the table until we are ready to pay. It was very awkward. I guess we looked like we were gonna dine and dash. I’m not sure.

   The host Lamont seated us — from memory — at my favorite table, and our server Alexander was as informative and upbeat as ever. The food was delicious, and the size of my cocktail was generous! All in all a great experience.

   I made a reservation for 1 as a treat to myself. I was automatically grateful to be given a table as most places a party of 1 is immediately put at a bar seat. My server was attentive, but so was every other person I encountered in the staff from the host, to expo who brought out my oysters, to the gentleman who took my plate when he saw I was finished. My food was incredible. Truly could have ate my weight in oysters with how delicious they were. I also had a Barry Palmer mocktail that was delicious. It's always nice to see mocktails on a menu for nights I don't drink alcohol. The postcard is a wonderful touch. I look forward to going back again soon and hope to try dessert next time, but who am I kidding... I'm going to stuff myself with oysters and leave no room. Thank you again for a wonderful experience.

   Food and service are always top notch. Leans seafood, but the burger was awesome too. People watching on Fridays in Inman park from their main level is great.

    UPDATE: The team at Beetlecat truly outdid themselves during my latest visit, making the experience exceptional. I enjoyed the Royal Hawaiian cocktail, fresh oysters, and a perfectly crafted lobster roll. Everything was spot-on, from the flavors to the presentation, with impeccable service to match. They clearly know how to deliver outstanding customer care. I went to the heralded donut brunch and ordered the all-in chicken sandwich which includes 2 glazed donuts, a sunny side-up egg, a fried chicken breast, and house made hot sauce. The donut had some sort of spice sprinkled on top. I wish the donut was just plain. The chicken had a funny taste to it - maybe Old Bay? and was a bit overcooked as was my egg. I didn't like the flavor of the house made hot sauce either. The chicken crust became quickly saturated and started coming apart. I also had fries (very good) and Hair of the Salty Dog cocktail (ok). I wish I had ordered the lobster roll and the Royal Hawaiian cocktail. Live and learn. I would go back, especially for dinner and the oysters.
