SS106 Aperitivo Bar is named after a highway which stretches 491 km from Reggio Calabria to Taranto , along the coast Ionian of Calabria , Basilicata and part of Puglia in Italy. We pride ourselves in bringing Italian dishes with a bigger influence of Southern Italian Cuisine. Our motivation of opening this restaurant/bar is to bring the Italian lifestyle and social aspect of Italian Culture to Calgary. Start with cappuccino in the morning to a full meal any time during the day or evening. All our cocktails our made with fresh squeezed juices. Our wine list is extensive. Our menu includes appetizers such as Calamari, arancini, Italian Sausage with rapini and many more options. We have charcuterie boards including an antipasto and a hot vegetarian platter. We have many pasta options with Gnocchi which are made in house. Gluten free and vegetarian options!

If you want to experience the food of Napoli without going to Italy this is the restaurant to eat at. The spritzes are amazing as well.

Food & service were great. Both personnel checked on us multiple times. Music & art set a nice atmosphere. Benches were comfortable but the metal chairs are not. Having everything open to outdoors is lovely on moderate days but was a bit too cool on a late September evening. The reservation system was glitchy (Open table problem) but the restaurant made everything work.

We came on a Friday night to celebrate an upcoming birthday. The service was excellent, good energy with upbeat music that was not too loud but gave it a nice vibe. The calamari with added shrimp and tomato sauce was superb. The mushroom gnocchi was outstanding. Salad with tenderloin was very good. We tried some different drinks and had wine.Good atmosphere and great food! We will be back!

My wife and I had an excellent experience at SS106. We shared an order of calamari to begin which was served hot and was cooked perfectly. My wife had the gnocchi and I had the veal and mushrooms. Like the appy the mains were perfectly cooked. The servers were pleasant and very attentive. The only negative comment is that the dining room was very hot due to the extremely hot weather. With a western exposure the air conditioner could not meet the challenge for an early evening sitting during a heat wave. On the other hand we had the option of dining on the well shaded patio but we weren’t aware of its presence until after we began dining. Overall a very pleasant experience.

There is no ac at this restaurant. On the days of 30 degrees, it was just way too hot to have the dinner there. I clothes were all damp by the time I finish dinner. For the price of this dinner, I think it’d only be fair if the surrounding (temperature) is up to a certain standard, after all, I didn’t pay for a food court price.

This was my first visit and it was great. Food was delicious and our hostess was great in explaining the menu and serving our orders. Definitely will be a return trip.
