Delicious food as always. Excellent friendly staff.
Food waste great as always. We were not rushed. We all had a great time.
Father’s Day “Barbecue” not as advertised. Outside patio was not completed and hamburgers etc...pre-prepared buffet style and not at all good. Shrimp cocktail rubbery, salads not freshly and overall food very disappointing.
The staff and the hostess only bright spot, as service attentive. Overcharged child as an adult “by accident”. However, the hostess apologetic and kind, she seemed to know things not up to par...a keeper, as she was the only thing right about the restaurant for this Father’s day.
Hard to recommend or return. Used to to much better, even with Groupon years ago. So that much more disappointing paying full price!
The deconstructed Caesar salad was great. We had the duck and the chicken both of which had a passing resemblance to food. The waiter was unable to express how the chicken was made which resulted in one of us ordering the duck. The duck was over done and dry likely because it had been sitting around for hours. The drinks were good. If I had to eat here again I would order the salad and stick to the simplest things on the menu.
Food was delicious as always. Enjoyed the new menu but missed a few options from the old menu!
My only complaint is that we were not in the usual dining room but in room next to it.
First I didn't realize it was in the Doubletree Hotel but then I figured some hotel restaurants are beautiful so that's fine. It was't even a restaurant. It had a 3/4 wall dividing it from the main thorough fare where there was a bar with tons of people so it was very loud. The lobby had a nice atmosphere but the restaurant was nothing special. Our waiter was lovely but when we told him we had a show to see if they could rush the meals, he said it's very busy I doubt they can! the food was ok. Definitely would not go back.
Very busy - waited a long time for the food - waitress was very apologetic.
The food and service were both excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Bistro Z is my go to for quiet conversations romantic or otherwise. Good food and super comfortable chairs in a quiet sophisticated space.
Beautiful presentation on all dishes. Service was good but inconsistent.
This is an excellent restaurant !
This is the second time we met friends for Saturday night dinner... this is a hidden gem. It was restaurant week. The choices were excellent and the food was terrific.
We had always greatly enjoyed the food and menu here. Unfortunately, they have a new chef and the menu is as disappointing as the food is cloying and poorly conceived.
We started by receiving cold bread served with a tasteless hummus, an over salted olive tapenade and a tomato bruschetta which was tasty.
Our salads consisted of a lovely garnish around the outside of the plate and a mound of arugula and kale dumped in the middle with no other elements incorporated.
For an entree, I ordered the chicken dish. The chicken itself was dried out with an oily sauce all over it. There was a mushy red cabbage dish that was overly sweet. The meal was inedible. Our very competent waitress was attentive and quickly offered to replace with a dish of my choice. I ordered the shrimp dish minus the bread pudding side which sounded awful.
The shrimp was quite good. There was an overwhelmingly rich sauce served on the side- thank goodness- thus, avoidable.
My partner had the short rib dish. It was highly salted and also served under tons of a rich sauce.
For dessert, we both ordered the flourless chocolate offering. It needed something to break up the chocolate- either a vanilla ice cream or a whipped cream.
Overall, we were disappointed in the meals but Simone, our waitress deserves high praise
Unless there is a change in chef we won’t be returning.
Sad for that as our previous meals had been excellent.
Always a pleasure to dine at Bistro Z. Usually quiet enough to speak to your dining companions and lively enough to know you're not the only ones in the restaurant. Excellent food, especially for hotel dining and a very lovely and eclectic menu.
Excellent service, outstanding food and value for the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week menu.
Delightful waitress. Had an “encore” shrimp over salad greens with citrus dressing and avocado.
It is my 'go to' place to visit when in Tarrytown area. Very nice atmosphere to meet people at. Thr sliced steak sandwich is excellent.
This was the fourth time that we ate in this restaurant. This visit will be our last. The food was so salty it was not edible. When we mentioned this to the server, she brought us a side of some vegetables. i ordered Duck and there were only two slices. last time there were five. When questioned, the server told me that it was cut thicker this time. I directly asked if there was a new cook and she said no. Sad to leave a good restaurant, but there is something wrong here.
We ordered French Onion soup - excellent
Lamb shanks - delicious
Scallops - a bit too salty
Wait staff was very attentive
The brie app is excellent! All 4 of us were raving about our entree choices..,chicken, rib eye and steak!
Food, service, accommodations, were all excellent.
We were able to visit with friends while having a great meal, and without distractions.
Normally I hate dining out on Valentine's Day since restaurants fabricate over priced menus. However, not only did Bistro Z have a beautiful price fixe valentine menu, they also offered their regular menu. And if that was not enough, they also offered a special prime rib menu. Something for everyone. I had the lamb chops which were cooked to perfection and a double cut providing ample portion size. My wife's fish was done to perfection. Bistro Z is a jewel that should be discovered by all looking for a great meal. The service is friendly and attentive. We will certainly be back !!
Bistro Z is a good value and good food. The server we had was the best we have ever had at Bistro Z... she was accommodating and paid attention to our requests.. Ambiance is good..
Tried this place after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. We went on a Wednesday evening at 6:30. Only one other table had patrons. When we left only a couple of more tables had patrons. Service was great. The bread was day old, dry and hard. Almost everything was over salted. The octopus app was interesting. The octopus itself was decent and nicely charred. The green olive salad on the side was way salty. My wife had the charred romaine salad. The lettuce was wilted, perhaps left on the grill too long or not that fresh. My wife had the sea bass, the fish was cooked nicely with a good sear. The sides (barley risotto and greens) were way salty. I had the lamb shank which was in a super salty sauce with a side of polenta which was also heavy on the salt. The lobby ambiance, dated decor, and just ok food, don't merit the price. Probably won't come back, although the waiter and service were just fine. If it wasn't for waiter, would have rated a 2.
The food was delicious. My meal could have been hotter.
Accompaniments were creative and visually appealing.
Bread was not very special. Used to be better
Young lady can’t remember her name, she was doing everything, hosting, seating and took our order, she has a lovely personality and beyond professional
I have dined here several times before and this was the first time I was disappointed. Three of us ordered the salmon and we all felt that it was not fresh. Management was very generous to allow us to order another entree.
food is excellent, specials are very good. wait staff great.
This is a nice, reasonably priced restaurant, but the food never quite arrived hot enough, the wine is too warm and the servers are always in need of a little prompting. The servers are always courteous and the food is good. I would think Hilton would invest in some training to get the manageable wrinkles out.
Food is delicious and service excellent. It is a little pricey but worth the splurge!
Very Qiuet. We chose this restaurant because we wanted a place where we could have great conversation and not have to talk above to many people. The food was great and the service was wonderful.
Overall, a nice thank you dinner for my family for all the help they have given me through the year. Prime rib was delicious. Soup was excellent. Chocolate explosion for dessert was very dry, could only finish half of it. Wait service was courteous but left a lot to be desired. No refills on our drinks or even asking us if we wanted coffee with dessert.
Lunch with old friend. Service good. Kitchen flexible for substitutions.
Soups were delicious! Meal was very good.
We met another couple here because of convenient geography. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the experience. The food for the most part was superb. We also appreciated the quiet nature of the restaurant, we had delightful conversation.
Lovely for Thanksgiving. Service attentive. Food adequate. Accomodated our request for a vegan entree. Crabcakes, soup, and turkey entree served cold...prime rib not the best. Very cold temperature in the restaurant. Chairs comfortable. Happy we were allowed to linger after the meal.
Very convenient to area attractions like Lyndhurst and Sunnyside. Remarkably good food for a hotel restaurant.
Lobster bisque was fantastic included on Restaurant Week menu. The duck breast and the swordfish were also excellent. Will definately go back.
The restaurant was very nice and the food was good. Unfortunately, there was a convention and the people were all over the restaurant and bar and were extremely noisy! This was not the fault of the restaurant, but clouded our review. I would definitely go again.
This could be a nice place--the decor is comfortable and attractive, and the waitress was very attentive and pleasant. Right now it is just a hallway restaurant in a hotel lobby. They need to have enough heat for people to remove their coats and feel comfortable while eating, dim that very bright overhead lamp &put candles on the table to create some ambiance and relaxation, and salt and season their food more. Also, the host should greet guests with energy and not be chewing gum. I hope they take these suggestions to heart. Most of these things are very easy fixes!
