Great location. Excellent service. Fantastic meal.
Wonderful service and great food. We come back here again and again and are never disappointed.
We split an appetizer, a main course and a dessert. The appetizer was roasted cauliflower, something I've had elsewhere...this one was a disappointment as it was still quite hard, when it should be very soft and taste of the roasting. The good news was that it was taken off our bill. The main entrée was quite good, a vegetarian option. Dessert was just passable, a tart that had a soggy crust and not much flavour in its custard. The amuse bouche was very tasty and would have made a good appetizer if it was on the menu.
Overall, a disappointment this time.
Great waiter - awesome food and plentiful portions- really a great night out
Excellent food and service. Zee's is always a wonderful experience!
Food was delicious, well prepared and presented. Portion size of Swordfish was small (maybe 4 oz.)...would have liked a bit more. Other dishes seemed to be more generous. Our server, Laura, was friendly and efficient....couldn’t have done more for us.
Always a very great pleasure to eat at Zee’s. We are longstanding patrons. We are always extra. Delighted to have Laura as our server. She is very knowledgeable, accommodating, thoughtful, efficient and always very pleasant to talk with. Looking forward to our next visit.
Our dining experience was excellent....great food, service, and atmosphere. The wine variety was very good, but the pricing was a bit pricey.
Sadly the quality and service has changed since I was last there. Service was slow and food was mediocre at best. I would not return.
I book a table every year while attending the Shaw Festival ...and we always have lunch at Zees prior to the 2pm matinee. The food is always delicious and served with great presentation. The staff is always courteous and attentive. Yesterday, they went over and above expectations !!! We ordered our lunch, and the food brought to the table was as always delicious and the service excellent. However, my lunch companion had a small incident where she did not feel well and could not finish most of her meal. I explained to our server that this did not reflect on the meal in ANY way but was due to her not feel too well.
When the bill was brought to our table, the server explained that he had deleted the cost of her main course entree due to the fact that she could not complete eating her meal. WOW !!! I was very impressed with their understanding and their kind gesture. Looking forward to my next visit on September 7th !!! Highly recommend ZEES when you are in the lovely town of Niagara on the Lake
Fillet mignon was excellent. They have children menu but not a printed one.
Group of three before the theater. Prompt service. Good menu and wine list. Three happy diners went next door to the Festival Theater.
We sat on the patio and had lunch on a very rainy day. The roof protected us; very enjoyable. The food was delicious, the server friendly and we were done in time to see the show at the Shaw festival. We will return to do this again.
Absolutely wonderful experience. The food was delicious. The service was outstanding. Dining alfresco was delightful.
Zee's veranda was perfect for our pre-theater dinner on a warm summer evening. Everything went well, and we particularly liked the complimentary bread and amuse-bouche.
Fabulous food setting and convenient to festival theater
Loved sitting on the Verandah and enjoying a deliciious meal! The waitress was helpful and knowledgeable and helped me pair a nice white wine with my food.
The food was good and the value for money was very good. However, the service was terrible if you were not Caucasian. We had made reservations for 7 pm but the online system did not let us specify that we want a table in the verandah. So we went there around 5:30 pm and asked if this could be added on to our reservation. The host told us - no, it is on a first-come-first-served basis and all they guarantee is a seat. We went there at 6:45 pm and there were many tables free on the verandah. The couple immediately ahead of us were asked where they wanted to sit and were seated at a table of their choice. When we wanted to sit on the same side as that couple (on the queen street) side, the host was reluctant. She wanted to shove us to a table on another side which we have sat at before and had poor air circulation. When I said I wanted to sit on the same side as the other couple she kept asking - must it be there? Can't it be here? We had seen 3 tables for 2 which were free on that side. When I told her that we could wait if those tables were not ready, she again asked if we couldn't sit at one of the worst tables there. I said - no, I wanted the other table. Finally she said, let me go and look and then reluctantly led us to the table. A couple who came not even 5 minutes after us was led to table in the same section we were seated in with no fuss. I saw a black woman in the washroom and she said she saw what the host was trying to do to us. She did the same to them.
I am never going back to Zees. The next day we went to Prince of Wales Hotel and the difference in service was night and day. Here all customers were treated alike and very well regardless of skin colour and the service was uniformly good.
Server was wonderful although the kitchen was very slow. Food was for the most part amazing. Cheese board was heaven. Cauliflower app was only underwhelming. Salmon and swordfish were refreshing, lamb was amazing, and beef short rib was the most outstanding.
Nice late afternoon dinner.
Beautiful weather sitting outside.
Outstanding dinner. I had the swordfish and my husband had the lamb shank. Both done to perfection.
We ordered a fabulous bottle of Flat Rock Rusty Shed Chardonnay and it was excellent as well, full bodied, buttery smooth. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable. Zee's is certainly one of the best restaurants year after year in NOTL.
Our lunch experience was superb at Zee's. Our server, Alex (Alexandria), was great! She was polite, personable, attentive, and patient as we took our time before ordering. The open faced sandwiches, the salads and the strawberry/watermelon gazpacho were all excellent. We'll definitely be returning next time we visit NOTL.
Its a bit pricey. Servings were generous. I thought the description Salmon Two Ways overbilled the production.
The Atlantic Salmon (which was excellent) definitely was top billed. The smoked salmon which only had a bit part was upstaged by the potato cake (which was also excellent)
Best food in NOTL. Sitting on the deck open to the air with nearby PLANTS on a warm evening was very pleasant. The food was very fresh and prepared to our nutritional request. Server Laura was excellent. It is adjacent to the Shaw Festival theater. See an wonderful show while in NOTL.
Everything would have been excellent except that my friend asked not to include certain things on her food -- onions and a ham-type biscuit that came with the meal. Neither of these things needed to be on there and the waiter, while apparently nice and knowledgeable, had to go back twice to have them removed.
Other than that, it was a beautiful day, the verandah where we were seated was in the shade and everything else was good.
Excellent food. I had the salmon burger and my wife had the signature turkey sandwich. Have been once before and will definitely go again.
We can always count on Zee's for a great dining experience! It is always consistent and doesn't disappoint.
My boyfriend and I were traveling to Niagara-on-the-Lake and this restaurant was highly recommended, as per internet reviews. The good was amazing, good portions, awesome service by our waitress and nice atmosphere. We were extremely satisfied of our booking and would gladly return!
Our server Laura was fantastic. Great personality and made our experience a lot of fun. The food was fantastic. We loved the atmosphere as well! We will be back.
I always look forward to coming to Zee’s for breakfast. Food and service are always exceptional, every time.
It was a beautiful night to eat out on the veranda - staff were attentive and provided excellent service.
terrible corner table near door and concierge, noisy ,dark ,
this outside table should be suspended.
food excellent ,gazpacho soup ,chicken ,salmon.
waitress very good but pre theatre stress and had to wait for pre dinner wine.
would go back
convenient location across from Shaw Festival. But service very slow. Food ok, but pricey
We went to Zees twice during our stay at Niagara-on-the-Lake. Joe was our waiter both nights and made the evening! He steered us to the best entrees, was engaging, interesting and fun. We could not have been more pleased. We shall return.
It was our first time and we were impressed with the ambience, service and food!
Husband har Short ribs- good, but a bit dry. Huge portion. Potatoes were very good. I had ceasar salad which was very good & pork belly also excellent.
Ate on porch, pleasant atmosphere, excellent service.
Joe the waiter at Zee’s is outstanding. He is very attentive and his recommendation always spot on!
The short ribs was just incredible and plenty for two to share!
Nice spot for a good meal
If you are ever in Niagara on the Lake, you must try Zees Grill. The food, service, etc are all outstanding!! It's a perfect place to eat before going to the theatre. Try it, you won't be disappointed! Both the Swordfish and the Surf and Turf are cooked to perfection....and if you have any room left, you must try the dessert "Death by Chocolate"
Always enjoy eating here
