My husband ordered a 140,000 Yen steak that made him violently ill. We then spent Sunday at the hospital, 40,000 Yen later.
My favorite place in Tokyo. Visited several times on my last visit. Never disappoints. Highly recommend as a hidden jewel.
Pound Ya was a great find.... we were a large group with kids and adults and everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was great they helped us order and brought our steaks so we could see them before they were cooked It was a really neat experience and a new kind of Japanese cuisine for us!
Charming! This was a happy surprise. We loved this gem. Only 25-30 seats. Pot stickers were best I've ever had. Rest of party loved their steak meals. Several locations but does not feel like a "chain".

The Jjapanese wagyu beef was fabulous. I had it 4 ways, a cut of lean and one of marbled and then a ground patty of each. Each type was great in its own way. The meat comes out very rare, but you receive a heated cooking iron to complete the cooking to your preference. I recommend POUND-YA as a must for a beefy meal. The meal I had was a pound, so it fits the name.
The food was great. The Japanese steak and wine selection is good. However they did not have few things on the menu. Over all experience good and I would definitely go back, however the ambience is of a casual dining place. Most suited for casual weekday or weekend meals.

First-time visit - outstanding value compared to high-end steakhouses. Hamburger and spicky chicken strips were amazing. Overall seasoning becomes salty after awhile, but you will be full before it matters, and still have money left over for drinks :-)
Has to be the best value wagyu in Tokyo, the fatty steaks were mind-blowing and the Hamburg was really good too. We ordered a 2/3 pound set with a lean steak and a Hamburg, 200g fatty steak, French fries and two sets of umami dips. It was so good we followed it up with a second order of fatty steak. The beer was also very cheap for Tokyo, 550¥ for a pint. The staff were fantastic and brought the meat out to the table to show before cooking it.
The food was delicious! The value for money is excellent! We really wanted to try wagyu during our trip to Tokyo and did not have it in the budget to spend $100 per person. For myself, my husband and 10 year old daughter, we spent less than $150 total for our dinner.
