Very disappointed with Paro. Was really looking forward to it after reading some great reviews but was surprisingly very disappointed with the service, food and ambience. We were seated at a table of 2 in between two rows of tables either side of us, with waiters shuffling up and down either side of us and it felt very exposed. There was no music, it felt very cold and lacked that warm restaurant feel. The service was not good, the waiters were blunt and dismissive and didn’t seem to want to help. I asked to change my drink a minute after ordering as I had chosen an alcoholic drink and wanted a non-alcoholic drink and a waiter said they would go and check and then never came back. I then asked again after 5 minutes and then another waiter said ‘well what do you want then’ and I responded with ‘please can I look at the menu?’ Which he then said he had to go and check at the bar to see if it’s already made, which it was, and then they couldn’t do anything about it. No refund, no offer to change the drink, nothing. Very surprised as normally these places would be very accommodating. The food was honestly very standard, as an avid Indian-food lover, this is by far near the bottom of my list. Lacked flavour, and was quite bland and uninteresting. Overall, didn’t enjoy it at all sadly. Hope other people had a pleasant time, but felt the need to share this.

Our reason for going was the availability of Gluten Free options, on your menu it states clearly there is no Gluten in the popadoms, however it turns out there is gluten and when questioned the staff member said it is a ‘printing error’ on the menu. This inspires no confidence in the rest of the menu. We will not be returning.
Paro Indian - Covent Garden & StrandResponded 1 day ago
Dear Rose, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’d like to kindly clarify that our poppadoms are made using cornflour, which is naturally gluten-free. This information is stated on our menu and is accurate — there is no printing error. At Paro, we take dietary requirements and allergen information extremely seriously. Our menu is carefully reviewed to ensure it reflects the correct details, and we’re committed to accommodating our guests’ needs to the highest standard. We’re truly sorry to hear that this has affected your confidence in our menu, and we hope you might consider giving us another opportunity in the future to provide you with the experience we strive to deliver. Thank you once again for your comments, as well as your feedback

Great ambiance with good energy. Wait staff was charming but not as attentive as one would hope. The dishes were a welcomed departure from traditional Indian dishes where heavy favors often drown out other ingredients.

Giving a one star because there is no option to give zero or negative number. Service: They charged us for the wrong item and when I went to ask them for the money back they took very long to fix it. The manager then intervened and threw a £5 note at me aggressively. He made me feel small and as if I was asking for too much when he MADE THE MISTAKE and all I had asked for it to be corrected He then got aggressive with us and threw us out of them restaurant. He used abusive language - he called me a b**** and my friend a p**** he said “I never want you or your b**** to be seen near my restaurant”. He got very close to my friends face to the point where he had to say I am going to call the police to which the manager said “go call your dad”. I was shook and left in tears and felt very scared and threatened as a woman. He told me “you b**** crying over £3” and continuously used abusive language towards me. I was standing in shock and couldn’t believe it. Food: They had no idea about the allergens - they write something as gluten free on their menu but when we asked to confirm if the gulab jamun was gluten free they said NO despite their menu saying it was. The manager spoke to us very aggressively even when we asked to check for the allergens. He said “you’re asking the wrong person then”. They could not by the end of my meal confirm to me if it even was gluten free or not. The food was TERRIBLE. I AM SHOCKED BY MY EXPERIENCE

My husband and I came for our first dinner while in London on our honeymoon and it was just perfect. The service is exceptional from the moment you arrive until you finish your last bite. The stars of the menu were the Tiger Prawns and the Pistachio Ice Cream!
