                              1606 is a great spot in the Beaufort Hotel in Gloucester. Menu and food was excellent. We were there on a busy Saturday night on a holiday weekend but the service was still fairly quick. Beautiful views of Gloucester harbor as well.

                              Ambiance is great but this place is way overpriced. $35 for a couple ounces of fish. Expect to be underwhelmed.

                              My husband ordered a fried seafood plate and it was dry and a very small portion fish. I ordered the grilled salmon which is one of my favorites and it was “fishy “ tasting. My salmon was accompanied by mashed potatoes and a concoction of corn and unidentifiable other ingredients which were not flavorful. We were with another couple and their food was delicious, especially the veal Milanese. We dine regularly at 1606 and were extremely disappointed. Service could have been better as well ( crumbs left on table and needing to ask for water which was not cold. Don’t know if we will return.

                              Horrible!! Make a reservation but then find out it’s first come first served outside? Only to be told I have to wait to be seated outside? Unreal!! For these prices!!

                              Very expensive, Horrible service. Left dirty dishes on our table, never refilled water. Waitress very inexperienced. Beautiful setting and wish food was better. Very expensive for what you get.

                              Beautiful setting on the outdoor patio. We were there July 3rd. This is when Gloucester has its fireworks. 90 minutes max at your table, they will literally tell you your time is up. Had the crab dip. The chips were old and almost chewy. Dinner partner's salmon was very small with very little sides. Lobster roll, nothing special $48.

                              We sat at the oyster bar, and had a fantastic evening. The seafood was fresh, the service amazing, and the views were beautiful. Highly recommend the caviar and chips!

                              There is no better way to spend a few hours in a beautiful summer day. Lunch on the deck. We split a charcuterie board. Then we moved to rocking chairs for iced coffee, sambuca and watching people playing on the beach. And the view is harbor and open ocean; unlike 95% of waterfront restaurants on the north shore, where views are of boats and very crowded harbors. Highly recommended. And this place is also wonderful in any season and weather.
