Great as always, food, service and ambience.
great place for breakfast with colleagues and clients
Excellent in every aspect.
Third time we have been and will certainly going back in the future.
Food was acceptable, there are much better venues and Sundays roasts in London, price is way to high for the quality of food. At best it’s average but the price is crazy. Service was abrupt and clunky, it was ok but £120 for two with a glass of wine each is ridiculous for a Sunday lunch, would have been happy to pay that if it was at that level of food, it really wasn’t
We came here on Sunday for my daughter’s 21st Birthday for lunch, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience from start to finish. Very attentive staff, great food and nice wine and cocktails. Sat in a window table with great views over to St Paul’s.
Great location, beautiful restaurant, pleasant service, atmosphere and the theme restaurant go hand in hand. Perfect for a special family day out. I cannot complain about the roast dinner, very good quality, not the best roast I've ever had but by far the most expensive. The overall experience makes up for price of the food.
Excellent food and service as always. Roast never disappoints.
My friends and I had set menu for dinner, which was a great value for money. The portion was very generous and all dishes were tasty. It wasn't too loud so we didn't have to shout over the table which can be quite common in many restaurants in central London on Saturday night. The service was great too. I would definitely recommend.
We visited Roast for my mum and dad's birthday. I did enjoy the experience, the food was good, our drinks waiter was really lovely. You have a great view and it is a nice setting. One issue though, I did email about it being their birthday and also called and was told they would receive a dessert plate which they never received, so that was a bit disappointing.
Unusual for every course to be great, but all were fantastic. The quality of the food and the execution are tops. Not cheap, but worth the price. Need to be careful though not to get too pricey.
Great start to the day, great service. Highly recommended.
The breakfast was up to the usual high standard.
Very busy place, I would recommend a booking a table. Service is good but could be more attentive and friendly. Food is excellent and the wines are expensive. Prepare to spend on this occasion.
Fantastic food. The Chorizo scotch egg was exceptional and the duck Wellington was also delicious.
Lively place to celebrate my wife's birthday. Good food, service and ambience.
Slightly disappointed with my recent visit to Roast. Pretty mediocre food and pretty terrible service. Not great!
Amazing offer on the 3 course meal, absolutely delicious lamb roast with plentiful roasties, veg and more importantly gravy! Beautiful restaurant overlooking borough market.
A welcome return to one of my favourite restaurants- great food, quick service and very efficient. Great waiting staff and always a joy to eat here 5 stars
Great ambiance, excellent service. Chateaubriand was amazing, started with a lovely glass of champagne and had a great bottle of red, chosen with the help of a very knowledgable wine waiter. Couldn’t fault the service or food, will be back!
Arrangements for a birthday celebration were efficiently handled. Service was very good and the staff attentive.
Myself and my partner visit many restaurants in London. This is One of the only places we come back to regularly. We love this restaurant for it’s friendly, warm staff. It’s superbly done down to worth food.
The Scotch eggs starter is superb
Roast was brilliant. We went there with a stupid American who didn’t know what British food was. So we had loads of it.
Food was outstanding and service excellent but the price of drinks is astronomical. I had two vodka and tonics and was charged £30 for them which I think is well overpriced. Cost of wine was again very expensive but that is my only criticism.
The roast beef itself was tasty but the Yorkshire pudding was cold (twice) and the potatoes were rock hard on the outside. Definitely not worth the price. The service was excellent but not enough to make up for the flaws in the kitchen.
Lovely lunch for husband's birthday. Great location, fabulous food, attentive service without being obtrusive.
Service excellent, food great. Wine list ok although quite expensive. Mixed crowd of business and dates / couples..
I met my friend for an early dinner yesterday. Roast had been on my list for a long while and I am so glad that I have finally had the opportunity to dine there.
I had the lamb.....delicious! My friend had the featherblade and pork belly....equally delicioius!
The setting is beautiful, the service is impeccable but not in your face and the atmosphere is relaxed.
I will definitely go again.
Great place for a business breakfast although it can be loud sometimes. Food is of excellent quality and the service from reception to table is very good - professional.
This restaurant came highly recommended. We had the Sunday Lunch roast, the total bill with a glass of champagne and a small glass of red wine came to £118.00 including service. Which I think is over priced for Sunday lunch for two. It was meant to be a bite to eat before heading to the theatre.
The starter of Salmon and crab had a distinct lack of crab, and the salmon was greasy and cloyey.
Almost immediately the main course arrived. The roast potatoes were very good, but the beef which I'd requested as medium came up quite rare and bloody. I sent it back to the kitchen and it was returned like shoe leather - consequently I left most of it. The slow cooked lamb was over cooked and very dry.
We then had almost half hour wait for dessert/cheese. The sticky date pudding was rubbery and really only just warm.
We asked for the bill and then proceeded to watch the waitress clear tables, handout menus, take orders, we asked again and 'oops' she had forgotten. When asked if everything was ok I said 'ok' but honestly I didn't have the time or energy to go over it all. So really disappointed and doubt we will go back.
The ambiance is lovely and we had a table in the corner over looking the market.
Partner and I went for 3 vegan courses, my parents went for 3 omni. Tortellini was 5* to start. Flavours and textures well balanced and all on point. No flavour to be had in the gnocchi - it was beyond the reproach of salt and pepper. Very disappointing. Ma's roast didnt look great. Veg seemed a bit old school..soft, overcooked. Potatoes looked like they had been sat around for a while. Rice pudding was to finish was a return to form for the vegans. The waiting staff were attentive throughout and we were made to feel welcome and were bidded a fond farewell from the greeters. A good experience.
We’re regulars at Roast, and it never disappoints. On this occasion the lunchtime opening “rush” caused a couple of minor hiccups, which didn’t detract from a very enjoyable birthday Sunday lunch.
Not a very good roast for the price paid. Service was very inattentive as well. Starters however were good. Dessert was underwhelming like the roast.
Fantastic service and evening great food will return
Vegetarian choice very poor. Food average. Beetroot burger was vile not only the taste but appearance. Wine waiter rude and arrogant. Made us feel uncomfortable. Restaurant was drafts and cold. Would not recommend.
First time at Roast. Tried the set Saturday lunch menu which was delicious and good value. The restaurant was full hence very noisy so not great for romantic intimate dinner but for a casual lunch with a friend it was smashing.
I WOULD LOVE TO TASTE MORE SALT IN THE FOOD BUT SINCE I AM FROM MEXICO I DO NOT KNOW IF IT IS JUST ME. THIS IS A VERY GOOD PLACE AND MY EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD OVERALL
Outstanding, authentic meat lovers paradise. Great for expense account dinners.i
We visited Roast as a family. Our boys aged 10 and 11 love well prepared meat dishes, so selected from the adult menu although a child menu is available. They ate chateaubriand and the full and proper beef roast. They are 90% of it and thoroughly enjoyed it! In fact, I would not manage to eat as much, as portions were very generous.
Scotch egg starter, and Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes were outstanding, as was the beef.
Service was attentive and I would have no hesitation in returning.
Food and service was great and my guest very much enjoyed his food.I like Roast and it’s very convenient in the London Bridge area.I was disappointed with two very very noisy babies for which no parental control was evident which pretty much left the whole restaurant with screaming noises for a full hour. There should have been some polite intervention
The food here is delicious. The flavours are well arranged and you get a modest portion of extremely flavoursome food, rather than the larger portion of so so food many places offer. Everything was well balanced. We had the Sunday roast and even our fussy standard of what constitutes a good roast potato was met. Perfect for a special occasion!
