Leading The Albert’s culinary direction is Chef David Danielson, a Chicago native with more than three decades of experience across luxury hotels. His leadership includes overseeing culinary operations for the Kentucky Derby and serving as Chief Hospitality Officer for a destination distillery.

Formally trained in France at the Dumas Père School of French Cooking and the École Hôtelière de Tain-l’Hermitage, Chef Danielson pairs classic technique with leadership and an approach. At The Albert, he brings a sophisticated perspective to Italian-American cuisine, highlighting seasonal ingredients and polished execution to create memorable dishes that feel comforting yet elevated

Our waiter (Jose) was very attentive to our group and made great recommendations for appetizers! The chef made a stop by our table to ask us how our experience was, which was a nice touch.

I liked the aesthetic of the restaurant, and the food was tasty. However, the service was bad, and our server spent most of his time just watching tv on his phone instead of attending to our table. There were also numerous gnats flying around our food the whole time. Overall, this dining experience was not worth the price.

Unfortunately when we went there for brunch there was only 1 person to serve all the tables. They did well under the circumstances but clearly one server is not enough for a whole restaurant.

The food was only Ok, but the biggest complaint is that the brunch menu, that was online, does not match the menu we received even though we had booked at a brunch time. The quality of the food did not match the cost. Just got a standard breakfast you could get at any hotel. The waitress was nice, but did not get anything right. The restaurant was basically empty and I can figure out why. Too bad for a restaurant connected to a nice hotel. Will go elsewhere for food when I return to Chicago.

A favorite restaurant of ours, but something was off. The service was great as usual. Our server Steve is the best. It was very quiet. No music, it killed the ambiance. The Food was not great as usual, but still very good. I hope The Albert can return to its standards. It’s a great place.

The Albert is one of my favorite restaurants. The staff is great, service outstanding and food delicious. The decor is fun. You can't ask for anything more. Olive oil cake is amazing. It's a great spot for a drink and/or dinner.
