Marco Polo Ristorante
As someone who loves baked clams - we received 7 baked clams that were the size of a "quarter". each clam included more breadcrumbs than clam. The past a was very good and the service. Save your money if you want baked clams.
There are many, many restaurants in the area. The fact remains that Marco Polo is the best in "fine dining" anywhere in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO.
The best in fine dining from Carroll Gardens to Brooklyn Heights!
The entree food was fine but not exceptional for a restaurant which sells itself on authenticity. The ‘special’ dessert of flambé banana (Definition: of food; covered with liquor and set alight briefly). and ice cream at $11 was very disappointing, this had never seen a flame! The banana tasted of poor quality plantain. A disappointing end to an unexceptional first meal in Brooklyn.
It is one of our favorite places. Great food. Lovely staff. Always a treat.
went with a reservation and was seated very quickly - was very good on quality and service
A pleasant venue for a family style lunch or dinner. A set menu on Mothers Day which was disappointing rather than a choice from the main menu and also having to order your 3 courses when ordering your appetizer/entree!
Very disappointing. Food ok but not great, service very rushed, server impatient to get order. Won’t be back.
Fine dining in Carroll Gardens! Pasta, meat, chicken, fish, I've tried it all at Marco Polo and have never been disappointed. Great wine list and a very professional staff.
This is a regular place for us to eat. They take good care of us and are willing to make changes when asked.
I had a lovely Easter dinner with my boyfriend. The Easter menu was delicious just as it always is for every holiday that I spend at the restaurant. Highly recommend!
Always a good choice!
Food was delicious as always.
Very accommodating wait staff. Pizza (although not on menu) was an excellent starter at lunch. Beet salad, hot antipasto es, seafood salad were all tasty All at
the table enjoyed the hazelnut tartuffo we shared for dessert. We all agreed , perfect place for lunch. And add the valet parking and coming here is a pleasured.
The service was excellent and the wait staff were accommodating we had a great experience
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Had not been for a long time and was pleased to see it was even better than I remembered. Greeted warmly by bartender and staff and service was professional, informative and patient. All the food was great, but in particular the appetizers. Great night with friends!
A cozy restaurant good for family dinners or romantic nights. The fettuccine al vino Rosso is incredible!
Great and to the point. Valentine’s Day options were solid, the rose sangria was on point according to my girlfriend and the strawberry and vanilla mousse was the best part of the whole dinner !!
Delicious! I am a Brooklyn native and this meal was as good as anything I've had in my past. Buono appetite!!
I visited before and they never disappoint. Food and service was great. Had a great time
We enjoyed a wonderful Italian dinner with a beautifully paired wine. Marco Polo is a kind of throwback to those traditional Italian restaurants that populated Italian sections in cities in New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island. I've already recommended it.
Just like dining it Italy, the quality of the food is superior and authentic.
Wonderful service, very attentive, and enjoyed the food tremendously. This is real Brooklyn, not nouveau Brooklyn.
After making reservation with open table and getting a confirmation and reminder on day of , when I got to restaurant on time the hostess said she was trying to call me to say they couldn’t accommodate me till 8:00 even though my reservation was 6:30. I showed her there I was no missed calls or voice mails and she still wouldn’t help. Finally a manager came by, heard my story and got me a table. Not a very good start to the night.
A very nice old style Italian restaurant where my wife and I enjoyed a very nice Christmas-eve dinner. The food was solid although not spectacular. It’s comfort food and that was what we were on the mood for. Marco Polo is predictable, reliable and always very good. The staff is always colorful and correctly attentive
Food was great...Veal Meatball app with Lamb Rack. Wine list was solid / very reasonable. Tony is a great bartender
We thought the waiter was wonderful The owners so nice and the food excellent We would definitely come back
I've been to Marco Polo several times and I always try a different entrée. I'm never disappointed! Veal chop (regular and stuffed), Chicken Breast (stuffed), Tuna, Venison chop. All excellent! There are many wines to choose from and the staff is magnificent.
The food was Italian, nothing else. Wait staff made mistakes. Food was fine.
Restaurant is comfortable.
Marco Polo never disappoints. I've tried meat, chicken and this time the tuna special and the meal is ALWAYS fantastic. From the moment you are greeted at the door until the moment you leave the staff provides you with the utmost attention. Additionally, they often have wine specials that are worth looking into.
Below average food, stark & dull furnishings & FROZEN seafood tower! When I made the reservation I explained this was a birthday dinner for my friend. I knew but the restaurant did nothing not even a soken happy birthday.
Run as fast as you can, go home & eat a can of Chef Boyardee because it will be hands above better than this restaurant!
The service by the waitstaff was exceptional considering that it was a holiday & it was packed & quite busy. The waiter , Giordano was attentive & caring - my father in-law is disabled & offered to cut his pork entrée. The Bus person was also attentive as well - asked for a few items & returned with them promptly. The pasta dishes ordered were delicious & the entrees & dessert were good.
We had a great experience at Marco Polo celebrating an engagement with some friends.
The Fettuccine al Vino Rosso was delicious and not overly heavy despite being prepared table-side in a giant wheel of Parmesan cheese. The Gnocchi was a little underwhelming but still very tasty. The Branzino and Salmon also received excellent reviews.
The waiter was a little curt, but it was part of his charm, so we didn't mind at all. The rest of the staff was extremely kind and made the experience very enjoyable.
Fantastic experience all around! From the moment we were greeted at the door until the moment we left everything was exceptional. Every selection from the appetizers to the entrees were prepared to perfection. The wine list is extensive with a wide price range. The staff is very attentive and they all seem to work very well together. I will definitely return.
great Italian favorites. You have to try the pasta made in the cheese wheel! it was really spectacular.
Amazing everything was great would definitely recommend top any one.
I took my sister for birthday lunch we had a very good time.
Great food & service! A real neighborhood gem. Would definitely go back. We had family visiting from our of town. We went to celebrate their Anniversary. Staff went out of their way to make it a perfect evening!
We took several friends there on Friday evening. We had the zucchini flowers as an appetizer and then most of us ordered a pasta dish as an entree. The zucchini flowers were a little usual--stuffed with vegetables--more like an egg roll. They were tasty, but a bit pricey--$16 for two flowers and we had two orders! All of the pastas were well prepared, and everyone seemed to enjoy their food very much. The servers were attentive and efficient.
