We offer a choice of three contrasting spaces for anything from 25 to 250 guests together with a range of competitively priced event packages. The versatility of the spaces is also reflected in the variety of menus available from the acclaimed kitchens of Albert’s Shed Restaurant and Dukes 92 which are located on the same site as The Castlefield Rooms.
Whichever space you decide on you will have our dedicated Events Team on hand to ensure the smooth and efficient running of your event.
If you are parking on a residential street we would ask you to do so with the consideration of the residents in mind.
We serve breakfast every Saturday and Sunday morning, from 10 am to 12 pm and on the Spring/Summer Bank Holidays too.
Great time.. staff and food !! Perfect 👌🏼
The food is consistently high quality but can be let down by second-rate service. Wait far too long for drinks, some of the food order was missing, drink spilt over a guest by waitress - not replaced but still included in the bill.
43rd wedding anniversary
Consistently good, great choice of food and drink, excellent service. I would recommend it to anyone. I have no doubt we will be back again and again.
Had a really fabulous work reunion with friendly, professional service made to feel really special from start to finish.
Top class food spoilt for choice.
I have been here several times with different groups at different times and it just gets better each time.
A Monday night meal with four hungry twenty-somethings, all of whom enjoyed their food very much. The steaks were apparently excellent. I had fish and chips and was very happy with my meal too.
SUNDAY LUNH WAS EXCELLENT VALUE. IT WAS THE BEST SUNDAY LUCH WE HAVE HAD FOR SOMETIME. STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND ATTENTIVE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
Spoiled by Espresso in large coffee cups, went cold quickly, waiter o very sympathetic when pointed out
St end of the evening asked for coats from the cloakroom, told to help ourselves! Not polite, not secure
Had a lovely set lunch. Food was great. Service was really good. Only pick is that we stood a bit waiting to be shown to table and we had a problem with card machine and waitress took card away which I don't like. Generally though. Fab food and value for money.
Been here several times and the food never disappoints. However, am never happy when a decision to return a drink is questioned by waiting staff. In this case a bottle of red wine was returned as the bottle was too warm and the wine fizzed when poured. Rather than apologize the waiter gave the impression that we were wrong about the temperature and didnt know what we were talking about. Has Alberts never heard the expression 'the customer is always right'!
Could’nt fault it and even though it seemed busy at lunch we were served quickly. Food looked and tasted devine. Have already recommended to friends. Great for all ages.
The service we received was really below par. It was very clear that our waitress’ only concern was getting out on time as she was clearing and resetting all of her tables above seeing to her customers. We waited 30 minutes plus for her to come and take our dessert orders after she had given us the menu despite us making eye contact and smiling numerous times in an attempt to get her attention. The worst bit of all was when she was taking payment for our very average meal. She didn’t even make eye contact with either of us while saying a very simple thanks. She was more interested in looking round at what other jobs she had to do.
My girlfriends meal was of low quality. Half was over cooked and half was under cooked. The salmon was dry and tasteless but the potatoes were hard and raw. If we had the opportunity to raise this with our waitress we would but she didn’t seem to have any time for us.
We booked a table for 7 but weren’t seated until 7.15 depsite empty tables being visible to us.
All of this led to a really bad customer experience for us and we would be put off returning and recommending any of our friends or family.
We like the atmosphere and food at Alberts Didsbury but they really need to sort out the bar service. It's not the first occasion I have had to wait sometime to be served. On the last visit I waited 11 minutes to be served a pint of Peroni. The barman seemed to think it was funny that I had waited so long for just a pint!!!! They need more than 1 person serving the general bar area. There can be 4/5 in the waiters area but they do not move out of there to serve people stood at the bar.
Sort it out Albert's or we will find somewhere else with good atmosphere and food.
Enjoyed a lovely birthday dinner for two with tasty well-cooked food, good wine and good service.
It got a bit noisy at times, but wasn't really a problem.
Really good. Staff were slow to offer another drink or clear but overall friendly!!!
excellent food, excellent place, caters for all ages and lovely staff!
Usually enjoy dining here, but this time was very disappointed. All of the food we ordered was terrible. The halloumi started was completely changed with tiny pieces of cheese and almost non-existent tortilla. Other things were just poorly cookies and under-seasoned.
Come to Alberts 2/3 times a month
Normally it’s so lovely... service normally amazing food on point
Not this time asked the waiter the fish of the day he said I don’t know I’ll go and find out
Drinks took 15 minuets to come
Then service slow on a whole
Food was shocking
Fish chowder 99% potato
Chicken in tarragon sauce was half normal size, I got French beans well 4 my sons burger was just a chunk of rock hard mince
Raised the issue with the manager who looked disinterested gave a round of drinks free which was a Buck’s Fizz and coke?!
Won’t be going back
We had to wait a long time for our drinks and to order our breakfast, when our food arrived it was only warm and we had to ask for toast as it wasn't brought with our breakfasts. When the toast was brought to the table it was cold also the waitress dropped a small dish of butter into the table Which wasn't a problem but she actually swore when it happened which was not at all professional. Overall we were very disappointed with our visit the quality of the products you use are good but would be much nicer if it was served when it was still hot. We should have really complained when we were there but were so hungry by the time our food arrived. In total our Bill was just under £100 and would certainly expect better for this amount.
Very slow service, were not asked if we would like a drink
Usually really enjoy this restaurant but on this occasion was very disappointed. It seems that there was a huge reduction in staff. Sat down very quickly but then 15/20 minutes before getting a drink, we would certainly have drunk one bottle of wine in that time, loss of earnings for restaurant!!
Slow to take order, slow for food to arrive. Food good, atmosphere good but serious staff problems/shortage. Not cheap for such poor service.
We took our daughter to celebrate her 26th birthday. On arrival she was wished a happy birthday and offered a complimentary drink. The food was delicious and service impeccable, attentive but never complacent or overbearing. We also loved the music playing in the background. Overall a fabulous dining experience.
Thank you to all the staff at Albert’s
A lovely family night out - we all enjoyed our food, and the service was great. Delicious espresso martinis too!
Early evening tea with an ex -colleague was a pleasant experience.
Food choices on the 12- 6pm menu were varied and tasty. Portions a little on the small side.
They'd never fill my partner he'd probably end up eating mine too!
So we had to add a pudding each ( great excuse!)
Service ( food and drinks ) was a bit on the slow side but the restsurant was busy and got even busier!
Staff were all lovely, polite and helpful.
I love this place, hence 2 visits in one week speaks volumes!
Have been lots this year and never been disappointed yet.
I'll be back again soon.
Went for lunch with son and grsndaughter. I ordered sea bream and when it arrived it was in a cream sauce, which I hadn't realised , and have trouble digesting. My fault entirely.
The lovely waitress and manager both came, changed my order, and made sure I was OK with my new order(which was beef rib and fantastic ). They apologised to me , though it was my fault, and were really understanding.
When the bill came I expected to pay for 2 meals , but they hadn't charged me.
I left a decent tip and went home happy.
A good freshly cooked meal. Good value for money. Good service and very nice ambiance. Excellent venue for pre theatre/event/football. Will definitely return.
I have been to Alberts lots of times and have never had a meal that I haven't enjoyed. Food is always delicious, beautifully presented and the atmosphere lovely. I like the way the menus change all the time so there's always something new to eat. We enjoyed peanut and sesame chicken satay for starters and the sea bream. One of my friends had the fish and chips and the feta and aubergine borek which she said was very good. Another friend had the steak and frites also great. You could not fault the service which was polite, efficient and attentive. The only thing we would say was that a glass of wine was expensive, but I suppose that's the same everywhere!! I did think that getting on for £8 for a glass of Merlot was steep, maybe that's just me! Alberts will continue to be my favourite restaurant in the area for meals with friends, great value lunch menu and for special celebrations in the evening.
Lovely evening table for 5 very good with advising for allergies and really enjoyed the food ..
Meet with old colleagues so we like good food and pleasant service our welcome was warm and very attentive liked the varied choice of food well cooked and presented we had a great time Thankyou
Sunday lunch with family. Reasonable choice for a lunch. Good service and food arrived in a reasonable time. Malayan chicken particularly good. And my son paid!
We went to Albert's to celebrate a friend's birthday. From the outset, service was poor. It took staff some time to take our order. Drinks arrived, a coffee and a coke. We asked for sugar and I returned the coke because it was very watery. Fifteen minutes later, neither sugar nor a replacement coke had arrived. We had to ask again. The fresh coke, when it came, was as watery as the first. My friend had the Sunday roast from the set menu and enjoyed it. I had the Lancashire cheese and onion pie. It was the only non-meat option and it was small and flavourless. The chunky chips tasted stale and were soggy, not crisp. There were only about half a dozen of these and a handful of beans. The sauce on the side had no flavour at all. At £14-95, this was very poor value. Desserts, lemon and almond cheesecake, were good but the chocolate sauce that came with it was the size of a 50pence piece on the plate. The staff who were waiting on stood in small groups laughing and chatting and largely ignoring customers. We struggled to get their attention throughout, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. My friend remarked that we were invisible. I haven't withheld a tip for more than twenty years but on this occasion I felt justified. Given that this was a birthday treat for a friend, I'd expected more. Even though I specified that it was a birthday when I made the reservation, no one even bothered to say happy birthday. Very disappointing. We won't be going back.
Absolutely amazing food as always!!!! Never let the chef go!!!!
The new winter menu looks good. Unfortunately, Guinea fowl not available on the day of our visit. Some portions are quite small.
My family and I have been to Alberts on many occasions, but this time found the the first course of Fish and Chips very poorly presented warm and tasteless. On this occasion it was not a very pleasant experience and we will think twice about coming again.
Really lovely evening meal with my mum, staff couldn't do enough for you and the food was wonderful.
Once again wonderful staff looked after us and the food was terrific
We had a great time at alberts for a birthday celebration. The food was great and the restaurant was vibrant and busy for a Thursday evening. However, some of the food was served like warm which for a nicer restaurant which is how this seems wasn’t great. We also had the majority of the starters served for the table and two of our party had to wait a further 5-7 minutes for there’s to come. We wasn’t eating with the same time. The starters prices were also on the more expensive side. Which is fine but the protions were quite small for the value.
The mains were great and came around the same time. However again like warm for some and piping hot for others. Obviously some were waiting for the others to be cooked and had cooled down.
The mains were good value for money. And great food. Just a shame about them being warm and not hot.
The service was good albeit a little slow. However the restaurant was very busy for a weekday night.
The table was pre booked a couple of weeks before and it wasn’t ready when we arrived. I thought that was a shame. However overall without those blips, a good restaurant that is local and provides a more upmarket feel while being affordable also.
My friends and I always come for lunch on any of our birthdays as it feels special yet affordable. We find the service is always attentive and efficient, the food varied and delicious.
Go there quite a lot hence why was disappointed. Nobody told us our table was ready. The bread I got for my F&C was frozen! Unbelievable!
Always a decent comfortable atmosphere, decent food. Happy days.
