Situated in a Historic building, dining room is themed around the time period. The restaurant was an easy trip from Mid Town on the Subway and only a 4 min. Walk from station. Portions were generous, everyone went home very satisfied. We ordered the filet, the salmon and baked chicken. All very delicious. Only suggestion is put salt and pepper on the tables. ( such a whiny detail)

Truly special environment; very good food; excellent quality/price. But what makes the difference is the service: I had made a request for a candle at dessert time (it was my girlfriend's birthday) and not only did they remember, but they also offered the dessert. An unexpected and very welcome gesture. When I return to New York, I will definitely stop by this place again.

We thought it was terrific. Today was See America day, starting at Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. When we got off the boat and realized where we were, we headed to Fraunces Tavern where we were greeted warmly. Nicely cozy and lively with international visitors and very good fare!

Old world ambience with a million different rooms. And bars. Make sure you explore. If you want to dine in a place with lots of history (George Washington dined here), definitely check this place out! The chicken pot pie is the size of my head and delicious! Also ordered the salmon with the purple potato puree…Amazing! Our server, Ana was very attentive and excellent!

Food portions were huge. I did not expect an entire filet of cod for my fish and chips. It was the perfect amount along with a great serving of fries. The house ale was a very solid American amber ale that paired perfectly with the fish.

We ate at the piano bar to celebrate a friend's birthday while we were visiting. Well worth the visit to this historic restaurant. We tried the Scotch egg and loved it. I'm sure it was an updated twist to an old recipe. Our party also had a couple of pot pies and the fish and chips. The pictures showing on the menu definitely don't do the dishes justice. We could not believe how LARGE the portions were I've never seen a portion of fish like that. The clam chowder was heavenly and served with some very hearty bread (maybe a recipe from the early days of the restaurant?). We topped everything off with a sticky toffee pudding even though we were so full from our meals (with some leftovers to go). Unbelievably great flavors to everything we tried. The entertainers were great! Even our waitress sang a song. They all must be aspiring singers and their voices are worthy of making it! A fun evening all around and we appreciate them going the extra mile to help us celebrate our friend's birthday. We'll definitely be back with our families to enjoy this place and the wonderful food and service when we are in town again.
