Fiola was beyond anything we could have imagined. We came for my girlfriend’s birthday and we had an amazing experience all around. The food is phenomenal, the entire team (servers, sommelier, the GM, bartenders, hosts) were warm, kind and attentive, and the atmosphere is top notch. We opted for the 5-course tasting menu with a starter of salumi and we could barely finish it all. Plentiful portions without losing the integrity of flavor or presentation. I can’t rave enough about Fiola - we will be back!
A gourmet experience although the fish did not sit well with us the day after. They certainly cater to the higher end, but we felt that the staff was a little pushy on getting us to sample wines or different champagnes than those we had selected. We enjoy dining experiences and travel regularly to Europe, where the sommelier will advise but never pushes. Perhaps something to think about. The parfait de foie gras was particularly enjoyable.
The food is very good. The prices are very high.
This restaurant showed up in my search for Restaurant Week. I was surprised when we got the menu and was told they were not participating in Restaurant Week. Since it was a birthday celebration for a friend, we decided to stay. The meal and service were 5 stars. Staff was very attentive and informative!
Amazing experience, not only food (that is absolutely fantastic) but whole experience. Impeccable service. Pricey, but worthwhile.
Incredible!!! It was the best restaurant I ever seen
Ivan provided an excellent dining experience!
One of THE BEST restaurants in DMV! Superb, Exquisite & to-die-for Delicious w/ detail oriented services from everyone ! We really enjoyed ourselves & had great time! Our highest recommendation & Two Thumbs Up!
This was my first experience with a Michelin-starred restaurant and wanted to be blow away. The service and ambiance, particularly for my wife's birthday, went well above expectations, but the food was far below what I was expecting. Multiple courses, namely the red mullet and the rabbit pancetta, felt like work to get through, being either very dry or bland. Maybe I don't have the palette for this type of food, but overall I left very underwhelmed.
How does one serve caviar without proper service ? Oh try to be avant guard? Nope just bad taste. Boring, over priced I could do better elsewhere. Service lovely food was dull
What an absolute lovely experience. Every staff member, from the reception staff, to the bar staff, right on through to Jennifer, and the serve staff were incredible and a joy to interact with. I did the Ligurian tasting menu and each course was divine, full of flavor, and a joy to dine on. Staff did a fantastic job pairing wines to the course, and working around my dietary restrictions.
I wholeheartedly recommend Fiola to anyone looking for an ultra upscale, fine dining experience in D.C.
My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Fiola. The tasting experience was amazing and well worth it for the price. The only reason I gave three stars for the ambiance was the restaurant was quite warm for an August evening.
Celebrated wedding anniversary at Fiola. The whole experience was wonderful! Everyone made our evening feel incredibly special, the food was great and service was top notch. Very glad we chose Fiola and will definitely visit again. The keepsake card and menu were such a wonderful touch and just added to the special feel of the whole evening.
Fabulous service from John and Ryan. The food was excellent. Fresh seasonal flavors, approachable yet interesting dishes.
Truly excellent meal from start to finish. Every dish is prepared with great attention to detail. The sea bream for two is amazing - served with an outstanding sweet corn polenta; signature lobster ravioli never disappoints; langoustine tartare and the Fiola Rocher was a decadent way to finish the meal. Do not miss the burrata - best we've ever had. Thank you Fiola for your consistent excellence and making our birthday celebration memorable.
Ambiance was elegant and room simple but beautiful. Food was delicious but a little overpriced. Wish we could have ordered a la carte. Hadn't been there in years and probably won't be back again for a while.
Our waiter, Bret, did a great job and the food and atmosphere were excellent.
An amazing experience. Wonderful service, personal and enjoyable. We dined all evening - closing down the place, never felt rushed and had a wonderful celebration our son. The food was a masterpiece. Beautifully presented, and with an amazing balance of flavors.
I have been to several Michelin starred restaurants. Although this was a very good restaurant, and the service was outstanding, it did not quite rate with any of the others. Like many very good restaurants that don't quite achieve excellence, the appetizers, desserts and amuse bouches all stood out as creative, beautifully prepared and either subtly or boldly flavored, depending on the chef's objective. But the mains were just very good. They didn't stand out as exceptional versions or interpretations of the dishes they were - they were just very good. If this was a pricey restaurant with a check for two totaling in the $300 range, it would be a standout. But with a check near double that, it didn't deliver the outstanding experience I would expect across all courses.
Very average meal but great service
Very disappointed that the couple seated next to us had a gentleman wearing flip flops and wearing gym shorts
Would not recommend
Outstanding in every way
An outstanding dinner experience. The food selections were innovative, but not too eclectic. The service and ambiance were flawless.
Soooo expensive and overpriced!
Unparalleled service and incredible food. Been here many times and have never wanted for anything different from how the food was prepared, presented and tasted. Special compliments to their female sommelier. This si the best food in Washington DC and the DC Metropolitan area, in our opinion.
Incredible service, wine list, food, and setting.
The service was over the top outstanding. We were treated like royalty. The food was excellent but it wasn't the best meal I'd ever had. No complaints, but it didn't quite meet the same standard as the level of service. It was definitely the most expensive dinner I've ever paid for but it was a special occasion so...
Our four-course tasting meal was superb and the service was on par. The only drawback was that the air conditioning was not working well on the main floor during a 100-degree heat wave.
Exquisite on every level: setting, service, food. Not intended to be inexpensive but worth every penny.
Everything was very good except the A/C did not seem to be working well. My friend and I were sweating. This was 6/17
Outstanding experience at Fiola. Ambiance was good - pretty and quiet. Service was great - our server was highly knowledgeable, made good recommendations, listened to us. Some of the food was truly exceptional - the foie gras parfait, tuna crudo, and the risotto. The duck breast was a tiny notch below. The lamb and veal were excellent, just not quite at the same level. Dessert was good - my wife loved the Napoleon, and the chocolate dessert I had was good.
Fiola truly has earned it's Michelin star. Definitely recommend it.
Amazing place. Pricey but worth it.
Best restaurant in DC. Just received top wine award from Wine Spectator. Jennifer is the head sommelier, and she knows her stuff. Food was incredible. Service even better.
Family vacation. We have two teenage sons that normally are picky but they both enjoyed the four course meal.
I simply found the service a little too overbearing. The food was very good although for the price and the Michelin rating I thought it would be better. The ambience...fine, predictable Italian, nothing notable.
Excellent food and service—Fiola lives up to its reputation.
Service, from the valet on, was all world. Friendly and personable staff that made us feel special on our anniversary. Food was amazing. Tasting menu allows you to try many great courses, whether you choose your own or allow the restaurant to choose. Wine program is unmatched in DC. Homemade pastas are incredible. Only complaint is that dining room is extremely warm, which forced me to remove my coat halfway through dinner. 5 star experience from start to finish, highly recommended
A wonderful dinner from start to finish. Spectacular service, delicious food, a truly memorable meal!
Extraordinary! Extraordinary in every way! Thank you, JACOB.
Jacob and the chef did an outstanding job of making our anniversary experience one of the most memorable in a lifetime. Something as simple as the house salad was exquisite, garnished with fresh, perfectly diced/sliced vegetables and salads arranged artistically on a plate. The house breads were so delicious. We both ordered pasta dishes and agreed they each were better pastas than we have had selected in various parts of Italy and/or Tuscany. Everything was timed to perfection including a breathtakingly beautiful dessert, an elegant Sicilian cake with gorgeous decorations and delicate flavors.
The final touch? The sweetest anniversary card from Fabio & Maria Trabocchi and the staff.
Gracious, graceful, and elegant. Unforgettable.
