    Unforgettable experience, service was brilliant. My wife has accidenty splashed some sause on her dress and in less than minute waiter brought her wipes with some liquid to clean it up. It worked well and she was smiling again .

    long been our favourite restaurant. not cheap but great value and outstanding service and very good food. they have slightly lost their edge lately i feel, as the food is not quiet as sharp as it was. not so long ago, we thought they would get a Michelin star but now i think the variety is diminished and the menu is a little less adventurous and the wine by the glass list is not as inviting as before. Nonetheless, the standard is still high and maybe its just a post Covid dip; fingers crossed, were going again next week.

    This was my third visit to The White Onion, and it was as superb in all respects as my last two visits. The service is second to none, the courses were all beautifully cooked, and my companion was impressed by the care taken over providing her with gluten-free food. It really can’t be faulted and I’m really looking forward to my next visit in two weeks.

    Delightful restaurant serving excellent food and excellent service. Restaurant goes the extra mile with charming little touches when they know you are celebrating something special. A firm favourite over several years with my family for those occasions with familiar faces in the restaurant team.

    Took the Mrs here for date night. We had great service from happy staff. I had venison which was really nice and she the lamb Wellington, also nice. Will be returning here for date night again

    Great food! But, we were the first diners to arrive - they seated us in the very far corner of the restaurant in almost a different room. No ambience. Starters arrived a couple of minutes after we ordered them and we had to ask to have a break of 10 minutes between started and main. They rushed us through, probably to have time for a second service.

    This is my first visit to this restaurant. Had the Sunday set menu. Service was good and very good bread selections. The venison starter was okay, but the mains, braised ox cheek was very salty. It seems something is missing from the jus. Will return to try their à la carte menu.

    I have only one quibble. The wine waiter kept filling one of our party's glass without checking if we were all ready. It would be better if we were able to have the wine on our table so we could decide when we wanted a refill.

    Had a lovely meal for valentines with my wife. Food was excellent, our waiter was great. Only reason for docking a star was that it took quite a while for food to come. Other than that, really great and will definitely be going back.

    From starters to Mains was amazing (we didnt have dessert). I noted it was our anniversary with the reservation and we were greeted with a special note on our menus and received a free sorbet dessert plate with happy anniversary written in chocolate on it. Was amazing! Recommendation is the duck egg starter. Was delicious! Will definitely be back :-)
