   Was excited to try this restaurant, made reservations before an 8pm comedy show at 5:45. We were seated at 5:45. However, we waited likely 20 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge us, which we had to flag her down for that. We finally ordered drinks but then waited like another 20-25 minutes until they were brought to the table. We ordered appetizers (Bread basket, Wings, Muscles). The wait for the appetizers was very long also, at least 30 minutes, during this time we did not see our waitress once or we would have ordered more drinks as they were empty. When the appetizers were brought, we made sure to order as we knew we might not see the waitress again, we also ordered drinks. The bread and wings were good; however the muscles were awful, they tasted frozen. We waited patiently for our food and drinks, but when it got to be 7:40 with no sign of the food being delivered or even the drinks we ordered, I asked them to cancel our main courses. We weren't going to have time to eat and make our show. They did rush one of the burgers out, but it was undercooked. They removed the main course that was never delivered to the table from the bill but likely should have done more than that to make it right. I never felt like our server cared that we were there for dinner, we were an afterthought. Cant say we would be back.

   Took 20 minutes to get our order in, and another hour to receive our food. While others received service, and visits from the manager we sat with empty glasses. The reservation was for a birthday, so it should have been a somewhat special evening but the service turned it into a mad dash to the door. The food was great, but portions were underwhelming. If dining in Birmingham again we won’t be choosing The Yard.

   My husband and I took our grandchildren and children for Easter brunch. The only breakfast food was shrimp and grits – grits were lumpy and the shrimp or tail on. Dry beef slices and turkey and no other breakfast. Food service was terrible, but there was plenty of help standing around and talking. We won't be back.

   The greeter at entrance was not very helpful or welcoming. He did not give us any information and we had to figure out that it was a self serve brunch buffet. The server at the dessert station was not familiar with the desserts available and did not know what each was. Everything was well presented and very tasteful. The meal was overpriced at $60.00. The restaurant area and bathrooms were very clean. It was not very crowded for a holiday.

   The service was subpar from most of the staff. One server, not ours, came over and saved the day. It seems they were not ready for customers even though we had a reservation and people were working. The restaurant wasn’t full and it still seemed to require a lot of effort to have someone be attentive.

   Main server was clearly on drugs. Assisting server was great at trying to correct main servers many mistakes.

    Nice dining room that outshined the food. Even the wine choices were low end. I appreciate value, but the food and wine did not live up to the restaurant.
