I used to come here when I was living in Hammersmith area. That was about 15 years ago and after long gap of visiting this place I was curious how it is now. Well it did not disappoint me the food is fantastic as ever. My friend loved it too. I have tried other Moroccan places but Azou still is the best. We will come back very soon.

Return visit after some years away - had forgotten just how good it is. Delicious Moroccan food - king prawn tagine was excellent, lamb shank delicious, kofta tagine very tasty. Grilled sardine starter, slightly spicy olives and home-made houmous all made appetising starters. Friendly and competent service, chef came personally to check that meal was to our liking. Won't leave it long before a return visit!

We went as a group of 8 for dinner. A great menu with lots of variety, considering the relatively small size of the restaurant. Food was serviced all together, piping hot and people commented that they hadn't had better Moroccan food in London. Friendly and prompt service that happily took into consideration quite strict dietary requirements of two of the guests. Ambience is casual and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

Food was delicious and hearty. However, service was a bit slow and wasn't so welcoming. After being seated down, it took 30 mins for waitress to come to my table and take my order. Furthermore, waitress has also taken orders of customers that came in after me before she came to me. Service was a bit disfunctional. What a shame.

Me and my wife were shown to a tiny table by a friendly waiter. I ordered humous which was distinctly average: quite watery and lacking in flavour. The lamb tagine was nice and fell off the bone. The bill came to £93 (£46.50 per head) for two courses and wine - a bit overpriced in my opinion. Overall, I would say it was ok; nothing to jump up and down about.

We have been to the Azou due to the excellent ratings on Open Table. The restaurant is rather small. However differentially sized tables are available for small and large parties. Some of tables are in a Marrokan style. Portions are rather big. Waiter is very friendly but non-native.
We had Baba-Ganoush and olives as starters and two Tanjines (Romanne and Berber) as mains. Unfortunately the pita bread was not self-made. Otherwise olives were very spicy and the Baba Ganoush tasted very interesting. The Tanjine Romanne had a very interestingly spiced brown sauce containing pomegranate, walnuts, roasted almonds, raisins and onions. I liked it a lot but some may be feel irritated by the sweetness and the christmas-like taste of the sauce. The chicken breast was very juicy and tender. I ordered some couscous as a side. Excellent dish. The Berber Tanjine is a vegetarian style Tanjine and was also very nice. The rice, which came along with that dish was overcooked. That is however the only criticism we had. As desert we had some Baklava (very sweet and full of almonds) and some marokkan style coffee (with cinnamon and orange blossom water). The cinnamon is perfect as it is a insulin mimetic and thus perfect for preventing the blood sugar levels to shoot over the roof. Drinks were two beers (they serve Marokkan beer (Casablanca, 'Here's looking at you kid'). The dinner came at £60 (service included), which I think is quite reasonable for the food quality. Overall a very nice restaurant, which is perfect to relax after a busy week.

What can I say? It takes a lot for me to leave a review. My dining usually consists of something special when visiting London, and opting away from Michelin Starred restaurants this time proved to be a great idea.

The staff are friendly (most notably the owner) and comfortable. Attentive, welcoming and there to help you make that important decision. The service was fast, immaculate and well served.

The food... wow. Words usually flow out of my mouth when I talk about food, but for this I was speechless. Like a warm summers day by the sea, a cosy winter up by the fire, the first day of spring... bliss. The feel, I have to admit, is not of a Michelin restaurant. There is no waiter hanging around waiting for you to finish your wine, desperately making sure you drink that last drop, or the business of making sure everything is perfect. But listen here, this, this lack of business, is what makes it perfect.

Forget your plans, forget the world. Come gather at Azou for an evening, let your taste buds be wowed and your palette be wet. Let the staff treat you like family, welcoming with their arms, and above all realise that life, in some places, can infact be perfect.
