Have been many times and the food quality has slipped more and more recently.
I had to send my steak back as it was so cold it was inedible. The steak that came back was then overcooked and rather unpleasant - I couldn't really do any more as I was entertaining a customer - so had to just put up with it and ate all the side dishes. Wont be returning now, despite the happy, welcoming staff.

Slow, inattentive service combined with an almost cafeteria-style ambience in parts of the restaurant made this a very disappointing experience. The food was good but not in any way exceptional, particularly given the high price tag. This restaurant really has no USP; there are many far better places for steak in London.

Service was very disappointing and not what we were expecting at all although the staff were polite. Staff invited our children into the kitchen to help prepare their pudding which was lovely. This is why I'm giving 2 stars rather than 1. sadly we won't be returning.

I dont usually bother to write reviews but this was so below what I expected for GR restaurant and in general this part of town (Mayfair).

The quality of the food, service and venue itself made me feel like I was in a hotel restaurant and I'm not talking a 5 star one on Park Lane, I mean a holiday or premier inn by he side of a motorway.

The restaurant is so very tired and in desperate need of a refurb, my drink finally made it through from the bar once seated after 10 minutes, repeatedly had to ask for condiments, cutlery not well cleaned / polished. Over priced lacklustre sides accompanied my well cooked but tasteless steak, which with two glasses of wine and service and cover charge for tap water !! Not had her before set me back just over £90.

Will not be going back... 👎

The food was just OK. Service was pleasant but nothing special. The wine list was generally extortionate, but that's what one should expect in Mayfair. All in all, we will go to other places in the future.

Maze Grill has a very understated entrance and is within a lovely building but when once you step inside you see the full breadth of the beautiful decor.
The staff were friendly upon arrival, then we were handed menus by a young lady who wasn’t quite sure of gluten free options, which made us consider leaving. However, she found a waiter who was informed and assured of the menu ingredients, so we stayed!
The menu options were somewhat odd, and sushi or beef seemed to be most prominent. From the 3 course set menu (which was a bargain at £21 per person) we had sushi to start, steak (a little dry) with gluten free chunky chips, and a gloriously different Eton mess.
I would return to this restaurant, the food was decent, the service was nice, but it would’ve been nice if they had refilled our glasses throughout.

This was the absolute worst experience. We had a reservation at 10 am but didn’t sit down until 10:30 am. After that, it took another 20 minutes to get service. Our coffee was never refilled, they forgot some food and one server that we asked for help said that she didn’t work there but was only “helping out from next door”. Oh, did I mention that we had a 4-month old and two other small children? Absolutely a nightmare experience.

Not the best meal I've had at Maze Grill, but still good enough. Service was, for the first time, a little patchy. I think we had the new crew. The usual casual and chatty service mixed in with impeccable timing and attention to detail was a bit lacking. Certainly not up to the standards of the restaurant next door. Foods top notch though and always is. I'll be back for sure.

Except for the waiter, the rest of the front of house was poorly trained and unmanaged. Instead of “welcome” it was “go over there” to check in with two receptionists deep in conversation, too busy to great us until they eventually looked up. Later a manager engaged our waiter in a multiple minutes conversation with his back to us so that the waiter could not see us trying to get attention. The restaurant advises a two hour limit on tables. It took an hour forty to get through one drink and starter before the main was served. We watched literally every other table including those seated after us be served first. The three fillets were excellent quality but one medium rare was solid gray. Nice bottle from the wine list. No time for dessert or coffee.

The impression we had was that entering for dinner from the hotel marked us for Siberia. As the person who pointed us to reception noted the correct entrance is from the street.

BTW. The place was half full at best. Contrary to the above our waiter did a nice job given the circumstances.

Had a roast ,only choice was beef. Waited 45 minutes plus
The portions were generous and quality of the beef was very good. Roast potatoes, looked nice but were a bit dry and lack flavour The sides of roasted mange tout and beetroot were fine. With a bottle of wine ( cheapest being around £35) and soft drink, the bill with cover charges and service charge came in at around £50 per head . If you had a starter and dessert it would have been much higher. The service was functional. I wouldn't go again as , there are several other places better value for money with more atmosphere and offering the same quality.

Had the set menu - which worked well both for me (vegetarian) and my companion (carnivore!). We fortunately weren't in a rush, as the lunch service took around 2 hours - worth the wait, but it does eliminate nipping in for a quick bite during your lunch hour. The food is incredible, and impeccably presented. Highly recommend for foodies or occasions when you need to wow your guests.

Was very excited to go to my first Gordon Ramsey restaurant...I’ve seen his expectations and knew they were high...seated for at 1830 dinner service and was told almost immediately that they were out of several items (the Wellington and lobster) both are what we came for...so we decided on the wagyu nigiri to start...the chateaubriand to share with mashed potatoes and the Mac and cheese...really wanted more of a vegetable offering but there was only salad or spinach...I over heard the other table ask for vegetables and when offered what I told they declined as well...(maybe they should offer more!)...so the food came and it was very good but not amazing like I had hoped...I asked for medium steak and it was medium rare clearly which is slightly under done for my liking...the mac and cheese was just ok...potatoes mashed were pretty good and the creme brûlée was eh ok...the wait staff was very nice and helpful...

Excellent Opentable deal and all the food was extremely tasty and reasonable portions. Only sour note was that we were charged a side for fries that came with one of the steaks and both that side and another we ordered, were overcharged vs. the menu. In fairness, when pointed out the waiter had the bill recalculated without quibbling it. Would definitely visit again.

It was a few years since we visited the Maze and my daughter in particular was looking forward to returning. Unfortunately we were disappointed. My wife and daughter decided to go with the discounted menu: the cauliflower salad was rather bland and anaemic and was followed by cod which apparently was smoked and far from special. The accompanying rose was not worth drinking. I had spicy fried squid which was dry and overcooked followed by a rarebreed rib-eye steak with a green salad. The steak was requested rare but arrived medium rare from a josper grill and rather dry on the outside - disappointing at pnds 36.00. Worst of all was the green salad: a few large leaves of unwashed lettuce dressed with a vinaigrette and grit. A bottle of supertuscan red was well received but hardly meritorious of its 75 pound price.
The good news is we are hearing that Gordon Ramsay will be closing this restaurant...hopefully not a rumour.

Lovely surroundings and food. We had a bit of a mix up when we first arrived with Social Hour which is advertised on their website as being available every day between 5pm and 7pm to get 2for1 drinks. We arrived at 6.45pm and when we asked about it we were told that we hadn’t “booked this offer online” so it wasn’t available. I checked on my phone online at the table, and there was nowhere you could book the offer, so after us having to ask again another couple of times, “Antonio” eventually agreed (through gritted teeth) to honour it. Our meal came to a couple of hundred pounds and the cocktails were £17 each so we didn’t think we were being unreasonable, as we were certainly spending money with them.
We were then told it was a problem with the website and we need to phone ahead if we see an offer like this in the future (not online like they originally said) - I’ve never heard anything so ridiculous booking ahead to get a happy hour offer?!
That said, the food was amazing, and the service after that was great. It just soured the whole experience the fact we’d had to proactively ask a few times about something they advertise and then were made to feel like we were trying to scam them and they were doing anything to get out of honouring it.
