Thoroughly enjoyed the food - tuna tartare and the slow cooked pork shoulder were both absolutely excellent. We did however have a very inexperienced wine waiter who didn't get all the cork (it happens), and then pushed the rest of the cork into the bottle with the end of his cork screw (under no circumstances should this happen!).
always a vibrant place - many thanks for the "happy Birthday" dessert plate
Wonderful space but upper restaurant is lacking a bit of cool ambiance
Eggs royal fantastic and plum tart one of the best I ever had
I had been before. A few years ago. It was sad decor and mediocre food that time. Fast forward to present day......what a pleasant surprise. Decor A+ and food A. I was very happy overall (service is adequate but could be better). I look forward to going again next year. We visit London twice a year and have our list of “must go to” restaurants and Bluebird has made the list.
Fantastic food but everything else was awful. I've been eating at the Bluebird for well over a decade but never will again.
Intrusive service, wrong menus, mistakes on the bill and filthy loos made for a regrettable evening.
The on duty manager compounded things by insisting on dealing with the only man at the table rather than myself, who had raised the issues and was hosting the dinner.
This went as far as letting my male guest succeed in paying the bill against my express wish. This kind of sexism is a disgrace and ridiculously out of date. Have a serious word with yourself Bluebird.
Great afternoon not to fussy but very attentive good food relaxed and good fun
How do I redeem the points I have. none of your links respond, except with a blank screen. the email address you give after clicking 'contact' doesn't work. this is the only way I can think of to communicate with you.
Went for the Singapore supper club 4 course menu. Food was amazing but lacked a main course- we went home hungry.
Wonderful atmosphere, service and food. The ambiance of the upstairs restaurant is wonderful and fully worth a visit.
I always go there for dinner and love it. This time was for tea and the place was almost empty. Would be nice if there is a section selected for tea where one doesn’t have to go through the empty place to reach the section.
Also the scones were dry and not fresh. The sandwiches were ok and the sponge cake dry and old too
I thought it was overpriced for that. It would have been ok if the food was delicious. Like your dinners
Teapot arrived not hot enough
Amazing dishes, excellent services, very relaxing ambient. Our spanish waitress helped us in chosing dishes and she were really kind. Great dinner experience.
Very nice setting, fixed menu during the weekend was very filling and tasty. Service was very friendly but a bit slow. Would go back
One one the worst experience in my life. One of the managers threatened me: leave the table because there is a VIP guest coming and he likes the table you are setting on, or we will not serve you
The servers were shockingly rude, unhelpful & not attentive! It was a Saturday brunch service, but it wasn’t busy! The food was average at best & the decor tired. I wouldn’t go back again.
Good atmosphere, very vibrant crowd. Burger was very good. Cocktails very tasty. However, I received terrible service on this occasion - lack of attention, snobby, and incompetent. To be fair, I have been here before for cocktails alone, which was fine at the bar.
The atmosphere that was created made you not realise how busy it was without it being too noisy.
The food was exceptional with a short wait between courses.
Overall a lovely evening
We had the evening standard menu which was great value. The wine list was also very decent with reasonable prices. Staff were attentive and friendly and the look and feel of the restaurant was very good. I will definitely return.
Food was lovely and staff were very kind. The decor of the restaurant is very beautiful, perfect for lunch/brunch!
Cool restaurant but pricey and not amazing value for money
Good food, fun atmosphere. Nice setting
The food tasted awful. Staff were very good.
I love the bluebird especially for brunch. Relaxed dining, great value and quality product. The service is always in my experience impeccable!
Great service, great food!
It has been years since I visited Bluebird, so I was apprehensive that the restaurant might not live up to my memory. However, it exceeded my expectations. I went on a Friday evening with a friend, whom I hadn't seen in a very long time. We were left to talk and drink until the end of the service (we were there for 5 hours!) and were not hurried along like some other London restaurants, that are quick to remind you of their 2 hour table turn-around. The service was attentive from start to finish. The food was delicious and the Opentable set menu option was good value. The restaurant is well designed, making each table feel somewhat secluded. The restaurant area is separate to the bar lounge area where you can continue to drink and party after your meal. It's a great late night spot if you fancy post dinner drinks. Would definitely recommend this for a date or friends get-together
The food was lovely but customer service was poor. We had drinks outside first and had to ask to take the remainder of the wine upstairs to the restaurant. I carried it myself instead of the restaurant offering to do so. Despite having told the restaurant it was two of our party’s birthdays, they forgot and I had to remind them. They eventually brought out one plate so they had to share! Service was poor throughout and I felt very rushed as if they were desperate to have the table back quickly. The food was fine and glad we ate from the set menu as the main meals are very expensive. I won’t be back again.
This is the first time I have not given Bluebird five stars after almost 30 years of enjoying wonderful lunches and evenings in what is arguably for me the best restaurant in town. This time three issues let it down.
Firstly the lift was out of order so anyone requiring wheelchair access or difficulty with stairs would have had to forgo their lunch.
Secondly downstairs they were carrying out building works so the sound of a pneumatic drilled killed off the atmosphere and was hugely annoying. It took a complaint from me for the manager to appear and offer his apologies with a glass of wine each but whilst that was appreciated such intrusive drilling should not be permitted during opening hours.
Finally the main course vegetarian dish of pearl barley which can only be described as a bowl of unsweetened porridge. Other than that everything was up to its usual high standard.
I hope by the next time we visit, the lift will be working, the drilling will have stopped and hopefully the pearl barley main course will be taken off the menu.
Great service and ambiance!!
This is an excellent restaurant. The food, presentation, ambiance and service are all first rate. Bit on the pricey side, but worth it.
Very disappointing... Average food but exceptionally priced and small portions to boot. Uninspiring decor, not a patch on what this much loved restaurant of once cult status used to be. I had to Google whether Conran still owned it, I was very surprised to learn that he does...
I will not be returning any time soon..
Lovely atmosphere and decor. Service was ok, main dishes arrived about 5 minutes apart which is not great, waiter didn't prompt for sides so we forgot to order them. Pavlova desert wasn't nice at all, full of cream and huge meringue which is not easy to split into smaller bits when it's swimming in cream and ice cream.. probably the worst pavlova I have ever had.
Very nice touch to give us a little sweet treat at the end as we celebrated out anniversary.
Receipt had an error which was promptly corrected once pointed out.
Amazing!!!! Great atmosphere, food, and service.
Lovely dinner and cocktails in Bluebird - expected it to be busier on a Sunday evening so atmosphere wasn't as good as expected - but still a great experience!
Excellent restaurant with beautiful atmosphere. Perfect for babies and toddlers
This was our first visit to the Bluebird and we were pleasantly surprised at the lively atmosphere and great service and above all the superb food.
Some waiters were either not properly trained or were simply uncaring. Not much of an apology when one of them spilled our drinks/cocktails and ruined my dress and my daughter’s shoes. Small consolation, another waiter said they would not be charging us for our cocktails.
When we were eventually sitted at our table, the food and drinks were good, but they managed to spoil the evening yet again by bringing a plate with a candle decorated with the words Happy Birthday when 2 members of my party were not at the table and before the dessert menus were brought to to us.
As we live locally we have been to Bluebird either upstairs or downstairs numerous times before but I will think twice about going back again. Shame!
Wonderful dinner. Set menù very convenient as we enjoyed a full sea food meal with glass of wine included for30£
GREAT AMBIENCE AND STAFFF WERE ATTENTIVE AND FRIENDLY
Perfect for Sunday lunch / brunch - relaxed , good food and attentive service in lovely airy comfortable setting - loved it. Keep up the good service!
Took my niece here for her 18th birthday.
The server was wonderful and after hearing me say ‘happy birthday’, bought a slice of cake with a candle at the end of the meal - unprompted! Very impressed.
I’ve not been to the Bluebird for a good few years because it became so bad for too long - but it’s picked itself back up and delivered a delicious meal in lovely surroundings. Thank you!
