came here for a bottomless brunch with my boyfriend. Atmosphere was exactly want we wanted. Service was amamzing and the drinks and food didnt disappoint.
The food is always delicious but the service(usually good) was very poor last time. Our waitress seemed annoyed by any question, did not bring all dishes and we had to ask twice for a missing dish. I understand it is not an easy job but she defintely could have done a better one
Loved the restaurant, food, service, ambience! Took my best friend here for her 28th Birthday and the food was amazing. It was slightly pricey, the food and drinks were great. I will definitely be coming back.
3rd visit and Cantina Laredo never fails to deliver excellent food and service. We went as a family to celebrate my daughter's 18th and it couldn't have been better - a real treat and already looking forward to our next visit!
I imagined this place might be more atmospheric but it is a bit canteen-like, brightly lit. Some of the food was excellent, some was merely ok (one sensed it wasn’t made with passion). The service was difficult to understand and not particularly attentive.
Food took over an hour to arrive and we had to leave without eating anything! Horrendous service. Avoid pre-theatre for sure!
Of all the restaurants that I have booked through Open Table this shows up more times than any other in my account history. Why? Because it is a great place to eat before the theatre providing excellent food, service and if you dine off the pre theatre menu very reasonably priced.
Food was fresh and tasty but overall a little underwhelming. Margeritas lacked a bit of punch. £50 brunch deal a touch overpriced. Service deteriorated when restaurant became busier. Would go again for guac and cocktails.
Really goood food. Suitable for friends to hang out
Great location for theatres. Welcoming staff. Superb service. Mariano outstanding. Wide array of food option; some really delicious. Generous portions. Would go again.
Ambience is nice after the re-fit but the food seems to have gone downhill a bit. I was sad that the menu no longer contains the chicken mole or some of the warm salads. The tacos we ordered were tasty but quite dry, and the substitution of Nutella for mole disappointing.
Really enjoyed my dinner at Cantina Laredo. I am a great fan of Mexican Cuisine and was definitely not disappointed with the variety of dishes, which were very well executed (combination of spices/flavours, quality & presentation). It's impressive that they have so many different guacamoles for starters! They offer a good choice of cocktails and wines too. My friend and I were very well looked after by Amina (Waitress), who also kindly helped us when there was a confusion with a certain dish order.
The ambience was perfectly suited to our needs: jovial but not overly noisy, therefore able to hold a conversation and hear each other (which unfortunately is difficult these days!).
Would definitely recommend to friends and business acquaintances.
I was given a gift card for my 40th birthday as I wanted to try authentic Mexican. Food was great. Service was friendly and efficient. Would recommend for something different on a special occasion. My husband told the waiter that it was my birthday, so dessert came out on a happy birthday plate with candles.
Food was great. I had a steak taco, steak was perfectly cooked. Only the portion was little small. (3 small soft tacos on a plate) If you are hungry prepare yourself to order more. Margarita (lime) was great. Service was fantastic. I ll go there again.
I have been to the restaurant many times but on this occasion I found the food bland and disappointing.
Best Mexican food and drinks to find in London. My only negative comment might be about its location, as it is located in a very touristy and crowded area in central London. Hopefully they will open a branch in a quieter location in London.
Food was excellent as always
Not value for money
Very nice Mexican food, not justifying the prices though. The cocktails were quite average.
They changed the chef and it sucks now. They also took ages to take our orders.
This was a second attempt at visiting. The first one (pre-renovation) was equally disappointing. Shame. Food was expensive and average at best. Having lived both in California and Mexico and as a lover of the cuisine, I was sorely disappointed. We had to send several dishes back. Lackluster and overcooked. Wouldn't recommend. Won't be dining there again.
Not enough waiter staff
Excellent food. Friendly service, just a couple of slow moments. But overall Excellent. Will go back.
When we arrived (having booked) we each had to give my name and time of booking three times. The person at the front desk wasn't listening or paying attention so we had to keep repeating ourselves. This was really irritating and bad customer service. We had to wait a while to be served however the food came out quickly and was very tasty. We have been here a few times and always enjoyed it. However, we will not be going back as we do not enjoy being ignored by staff who were clearly not interested in providing good customer service.
Not as good as the two last visits.
Very disappointing visit - and we have been many times, it is one of our favorite restaurants in the West End, and we often take visitors there. But not after this experience. The service was appalling - they clearly were not coping with the volume of patrons, but this was 6pm in the West End, they should have been better prepared. We has almost finished our food when my wine arrived, the signature guacamole dish was terrible (usually a highlight) - badly (very hastily) prepared, bits of avocado left in which one would ordinarily leave out as "damaged", very lumpy and stringy. The other dishes were again not up to the usual standard - and overall, just plain disappointing. We also had another couple seated almost on top of us - tables uncomfortably close together - which was unnecessary given that the restaurant wasn't all that full, and it impeded our ability to continue our private conversation. All in all, we probably won't go back - which is sad, because we've always looked forward to going to Cantina Laredo.
We were at the restaurant for a Business Meeting. The service was terrible, and it was almost impossible to get any waiters attention. The drinks took ages to come every time we ordered them. The food was very bland.
Place was bustling if not a little too loud. Menu was ambitious and interesting. Service was pretty good and the servers were friendly. Some of the food missed the mark but the guacamole was excellent
Good food! Great guacamole and cocktails! Love it here
Amazing service as always. Not sure why I didn't get my 1000points?
The guacamole was divine...will be back soon! The service was excellent and the restaurant was spacious
Food was good - lots of vegetarian and gluten free options which was required by members of my dining party. Food was tasty. Service was slow and a bit inattentive but they were friendly. If you re not in a rush it’s not much of an issue but we did have moments when our drinks ran dry.
Sadly the food didn't have much flavor, the service was extremely slow when ordering drinks and waiters and waitresses managed to smash 3 glasses in the 2 hours we were in there. It's certainly not baby friendly as it's quite loud but that's quite common in London restaurants. When we complained they didn't offer anything other than a emotionless apology and when you're paying £150 for a meal you expect them to care about the customers opinion. I wrote a formal complaint to the management and received an email back quizzing every opinion I had and even referred to CCTV footage to argue that it only took them 15 minutes to make a G&T. Madness! They obviously don't understand the hospitality industry and it's quite sad that people are that rude to paying customers. I would NEVER eat here again and urge anyone thinking about booking to go find a proper Mexican restaurant that care about what their customer thinks. 1/10
Lovely friendly staff. Service could not be faulted. I thoroughly enjoyed my dishes. My vegetarian friends were very happy too.
Food was not as good as the last time we visited, mojitos were excellent!
Extremely good mexican food (best in town I think), ambience is fresh, simple and smart. Very good cocktails. Not cheap but worthy.
Very good guacamole, all the ones I have tried have always been excellent. Other dishes generally fine, but overall the bill came to a bit more than anticipated probably because some of the portions are quite small. Good range of drinks.
A planned evening with friends, thoroughly enjoyed our evening at this great restaurant.
A nice meal and good service - good for pre theatre dining
