    It’s our second time visiting Heliot Steak House and both times have been unbelievable. Paul was absolutely wonderful and so knowledgable about the menu and offering advice. Food was absolutely incredible, and they even did a birthday dessert for my mum! Can’t recommend enough! Thank you so much!

    I booked the steak, lobster and prosecco deal for a special birthday celebration having received recommendations from friends and seeing some great recent photos and reviews online. As two of us arrived earlier, we took a seat at the bar beside Heliots and the lovely bartender (sorry, I didn't see his name tag but he was from Bulgaria) made some excellent cocktail recommendations which we enjoyed. After confirming that we would like the deal booked through Open Table, we waited a long time for the food to arrive. Firstly, the steaks were all beautifully cooked and were tender, juicy and delicious. Sadly, the lobsters were very disappointing. They were not "half Scottish lobsters" as described on Open Table, the Hippodrome website and the physical menu itself. They were merely baby tails, with no head and no claws. This is not indicative of all the photos of this meal that can be viewed in multiple locations online. The meat was also dry, tough and difficult to remove from the shell. The accompanying fries were hard and also overcooked. We did order extra side dishes and these were of a good quality and enjoyed. Despite mentioning on booking that it was a special celebration, there was no recognition of this in the form of a greeting etc when being presented with our drinks. This wouldn't have been an issue in itself until the table next to us were presented with a lovely looking complimentary red velvet cake as they were celebrating a birthday! Whilst the service itself was reasonable, the overall experience failed to impress. On receiving the bill, I noticed that I had been charged for a Chardonnay that we had not ordered and had to call the waiter back to have it removed from the bill. He seemed very non plussed and just responded with "I have no idea how that happened" and went away to recalculate the bill.

    Truly awful service. The steak was one of the best I've ever eaten, but the painfully slow service was grim. The queue for the strip show goes through the restaurant and our food, when it eventually came, was left IN the queue for quite some time, just dumped on a tray that everyone had to meander past to watch male strippers. So, you know, bear in mind that a hen party or ten will cough and who knows what to your steak before you eat it.

    The £29 meal offer is fantastic value. Beautiful piece of steak cooked medium rare to perfection, well prepared lobster. Good chips. Decent sized glass of Prosecco. We then bought several cocktails which were all fantastic. Spent around £220 for 4 people. Shame you don't get a £10 fee bet chip like the old days but still a great experience.

    We have a good experience of our waiter Paul and his service, however, the guy who greeted us gave us a very bad service. We were a group of 9 ladies from different countries and he refused to sit us to our table unless all 9 were there at the same time! We wanted to start with some wine and champagne order at our table while waiting for the others. Finally he agreed after we got quite unhappy. Have never seen anything like that! Hope this won't happen to others.

    Service was amazing and Gil was an absolute star. The only thing that’s let it down was the steak was ordered for Well done and had to go back twice simple because it was practically raw. If it wasn’t for the amazing service we would of left.

    It was a fantastic night all round. The staff are lovely, the food amazing - we didn’t spend a fortune and went for the cheaper steaks but they didn’t disappoint- the rosemary fries were scrumptious. We had a free glass of champagne for my daughters 18th and they put a candle in our shared dessert. The cocktails were lovely too. Thoroughly recommend and will be back.

    Wonderful service from Nuria and outstanding food. This restaurant is in a fairly unique setting upstairs in the casino with a view of the casino floor. Nuria looked after us fantastically well. Polite, friendly, cheerful and an amazing attention to detail. There were five of us dining, I am the only white wine drinker so tend to order by the glass rather than bottle and often get overlooked and have to wait to order a refill. Nuria noticed both times when my glass was getting low and checked if I wanted another drink. There was a waiter who also served us whose name I did not catch. He had a beard and an American accent I believe. He was serving us drinks when another food order came out. He apologised to us saying he had to deal with the food and would return shortly, which he did. Exactly the right priority. Excellent service. The food was simply outstanding, all five of us had steaks. Two Hereford, two USDA and an Australian. Each was cooked to perfection. I was worried about my friend who chose the Australian steak as he is that unlucky friend whose meal is usually wrong or not very good. He is widely travelled and said his steak was the best he had ever eaten. Trust me, that is heady praise from him. The meal was good value and it was a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.

    It was my first time going to Hippodrome Casino and I was very happy with the service that I received. We had cocktails at The Lola's Bar and the cocktails were good n well served and very friendly waiters. The dinner at Heliot Steak House was really good. We were shown to our table by the manager Salvo Russo, and he was just so friendly and nice. I did mention to him that I recognized him from the video at Hippodrome Casino website. The menu was good and we ( 4 of us ) enjoyed the steaks and the sides and sauces that came with it. It was a truly great experience and I will definitely go there again. It was noisy but it was a Saturday night and the casino was bustling with activities and people. My niece and her husband truly enjoyed the atmosphere and place.
