Very good food in a nice but vibrant athmosphere. Nice, modern and relaxed interieur. Very good and friendly service.
A very enjoyable meal in a contemporary space. Wonderful service.
I was struggling to find somewhere that was open for Sunday lunch within a 5 minutes walk from Liverpool Street, as one of our party has mobility issues, so this was a great location. Lovely staff - very welcoming and eager to please. The venue wasn't too busy and the surroundings were well designed.
However, some of the food was not as good as I was expecting. The fish and chips was a generous sized portion and tasty but the roast chicken was a little disappointing. The chicken was an individual chicken breast that lacked flavour, the single (large) carrot was only very lightly cooked and therefore difficult to cut and weirdly crunchy. The meal came with Brussel sprout tops although this wasn't mentioned on the menu which meant we ordered a side dish of these which obviously wasn't needed.
I really wanted to rate this venue higher as the staff and surroundings were lovely but for the price, I suspect we might have got a better Sunday roast from the pub next door.
Disappointed to find brunch no longer available on a Sunday. Roast was good but plates could have been hotter. Normally a reliable restaurant so maybe this was just an off day.
Really nice visit all round - the free flowing prosecco is exactly that- my glass was never empty! The beef roast was cooked beautifully- could do with being a little hotter but really tasty. The service was great - we were served by Alina and Luca who were lovely and the welcome host was equally lovely - lovely birthday!
We booked Saturday brunch with bottomless Prosecco which was great value for money. Extremely loud and vibrant with lots of large groups. Staff very efficient and attentive.
Paid £10 for an egg and watercress sandwich and my collleague had a cheese and iceberg lettuce sandwich (no other salad was provided). The bread was awful tasted like cheap low cost bread. I would not recommend this as it massively overpriced. The staff were actually ok but were not aware of food from the bar menu. They did accommodate us as the bar was fully booked even though I booked the bar.
We visited South Place Chop House on Saturday night, there were a few tables that were occupied but the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy. The food was good but didn’t blow us away. Staff were friendly and efficient, there was a function with loud music in the adjacent hotel bar which helped a bit with the ambience. Would I go back? Probably not as it was expensive for what it was
Overrall only received a fair from me because the food was good and the staff were very nice and helpful. But, the service was far too slow. We had to wait too long and having a 6 year old with you that, can be challenging. We also thought it was fairly expensive.
We had a wonderful evening meal complimented by friendly and attentive service. Favourites from each course à la Carte were smoked salmon pâté, rib eye with creamy mash (oh my word) & peppercorn sauce finished with warm chocolate cake & popcorn ice cream. Delightful and perfect spot for a catch up. We’ll be back.
Every time the girls and I get chance to meet up, we always pick to brunch at South Place Chop House. The food is always beautiful, the atmosphere is chilled but still with an edge of class, and the service is unparalleled. This week we were waited on Camelia who was attentive, friendly and fun to interact with.
5* all experience all round!
Fabulous food, good value pricing, pleasant ambience and friendly and professional service from Camelia and colleagues. Good for dinner, lunch or weekend brunch.
Food is good and service accommodating. Definitely targeted to business crowd. Quite noisy. Main issue is the service is very very slow. Consistently takes 45 minutes to get a fillet steak cooked rare. Wine list is quite short but you can ask the one from the Angler which is much more comprehensive. Overall quite expensive given level of service.
We had a fantastic breakfast at the South Place Chop House. It was booked for a birthday and and the staff went to great lengths to make it special. The food was excellent and the service is second to none. Would highly recommend and will definitely return.
The only constructive feedback I have is that you are offered orange juice on arrival at your table (poured from a carafe at the table). It’s a bit cheeky because this is offered to you like you would be offered tap water but it is £5 per glass. It is very nice juice but a bit naughty the charge isn’t mentioned up front so just be mindful!
Place perfect for family reunion quiet and excellent service
Went to Chop House for a quick lunch. Nice venue, good choice of food, service is friendly.
Really enjoyed Sunday brunch. Relaxed ambience and great service from a skilled waiter.
Always excellent service and food. A great place to have a leisurely brunch.
We went for a Sunday roast. Which was very nice in deed. We ordered the chicken and the beef which I both recommend. We also had drinks and starts. Overall the food was good but I would say quite expensive and the drinks also expensive. They have a draft lagar which they pour in 330ml measures and charge £4.95 for it.
The service I can’t fault it was very good.
I would say the noise level was very very high. We had to ask to be moved because one woman’s voice was schreeking through my ears and we couldn’t hear each other talk.
Quality of food on the Evening Standard menu was very good, as was the friendly service, but as a place to meet and chat with friends this was spoilt by the needlessly high level of background music (on a Thursday evening).
On request, the manager turned it down somewhat but it shouldn't be necessary to ask on behalf of a room full of diners. Perhaps better at other times of day.
Lovely dinner, delicious and wonderful food, and great service.
Had the steak lunch , normally very good food , but on this occasion, my steak was tough and very small
I've been here before and now South Place Chop House has become my regular place to take friends and families for Sunday Roast! I've been recommending it to everyone I meet who fancy a lovely meal that drags right through to end of the afternoon because the staff won't rush you out!
Love the atmosphere, the quiet but cosy decor and environment, the friendly efficient staff, the lovely and yummy food which has never disappoint. But more importantly I love the flexibility of the place, that will accommodate odd requests when they can.
For example: if you have a vegan friend in your group, tell the restaurant at point of booking and Chef will create a unique vegan dish. This has happened to us when an unexpected vegan friend joined at the last minute. She said the dish was the best she'd had for a long time!
Then on my latest visit, I was on a lot of meds so couldn't drink alcohol so I asked if I can have the bottomless drinks deal but for juice and soft drinks instead of bubblies/belinis/mimosas. The maitre d' approved my request.
Then on another visit I really fancied custard with my toffee pudding instead of ice cream or clotted cream and Chef whipped some up for me although there was none on the menu. But do not expect this every time you go as it all depends on the Chef, available ingredients and time available. I was very appreciative of the favour. It was delicious!
And also the whole meal didn't break the bank xx
Great brunch, great service. Very friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit!!
Another fantastic meal with fantastic service by the D&D London team. Every time we visit London we try another great D&D restaurant. The chicken terrine was lovely very fresh the charred sourdough the perfect side. The whitebait was nicely done and very fresh. The sea brim with crushed new potatoes main was our favorite the flat iron steak was nice but lacked a sauce, this made it a little boring. The sticky toffee pudding with clothed cream had a wonderful burnt toffee flavour and not to sweat. The star of the night was the plum and almond tart a standout dish.
As always great service from friendly staff who knew there menus and wine list. An added bonus for a beer mad friend was the beer vats in the restaurant and the fact the staff answered all his questions about the beer and the vats.
It’s a great restaurant right in the city with exceptional service. In particular, our server Camelia went above and beyond to make lunch a success.
Waffles were half a portion and barely got half a chicken. Which was also burnt and over cooked
Amazing food and service, topped off with a free glass of champagne! Would highly recommend and will be going again.
Great place for brunch. The bottomless prosecco for £15 is brilliant value and they were very generous with keeping the glasses topped up!
The food was good but they forgot the meal of one of my guests. They quickly got it and deducted several costs to make it acceptable.
The food was good, the waitress was friendly and helpful and earned her tip but not getting one of eight meals is inexcusable.
I think for the set me it would be worth it, but the starters were expensive and minuscule and they kept topping up the wine so you would have more even when the glass was more than half full. Felt overall expensive for quite average food, taste and presentation. Won't be rushing back anytime soon.
We had a great evening. Our host was very kind and the lady serving us during our evening was very kind. The overall experience was great for us.
Very lovely restaurant, the staff were friendly and attentive. We had a three course meal, each course was deliciously tasty. The dessert, Apricot and Almond tart, was more delightful than expected. Will definitely be dinning here again.
Great food, wine and service.Good venue for a quiet fun lunch
Booked Chop House under a friend’s recommendation and it did not disappoint.
Walked in to a sylishly decorated Hotel and was greeted by a smiley face almost immediately.
We were feeling greedy and ordered snacks, starters and a main. The sausage roll was a little on the small side for the price but absolutely enjoyed the calamari and the sardine starter. Ordered the rib eye for the main which was cooked to perfection - highly recommend. Service from Bianca was very attentive, wine and water always topped up - she made our meal. Overall I had a great experience here and would highly recommend!!
I had few friends visiting and we went to South Place Chop House for dinner .
Wonderful pre-dinner cocktails, followed by delicious food served with a welcoming professionalism.
A treat the digestives in the secret garden afterword.
Also a delicious kid menu for my friend's boy!
Great place for a quick lunch. I went for the summer lobster special offer with a glass of rosé wine.
We ate at the Chop House twice whilst staying at South Place . We were impressed by the very attentive service and excellent food. Everyone at South Place tries so hard to make every visit a great experience - thank you!
A relaxed, cool environment, supported by a friendly, welcoming professional team.
Choose from a tasty, shared Sunday BBQ platter, or from an alternative menu. Free flowing wine at an extra £15 pp.
As always, excellent service, and an enjoyable Sunday afternoon.
Fabulous evening out! Thanks to Anthony for looking after us!
