Terrific dinner, if a little squashed for 6 people. But food and service was excellent. Free corkage on Mondays so we took our own wines.
Definitely go back.
Got to be one of the best Sunday Roasts in town and pretty good value given the quality of the food. Will definitely be going back.
Went here for a special date night with my husband and it couldn't have fit the bill better. The decor is unusual and the ambience is lovely - tables are not packed in, music isn't too loud (although have to say the playlist is questionable when you do catch it during a lull) and it really lends itself to conversation.
The menu is unusual and delicious with fair portion sizes for the price. If plumping for the 'game with trimmings', it's worth making sure you understand what 'trimmings' are, as that is meant in the literal sense at QCH (i.e. legs cut off and made into a game pie) rather than the 'spuds, yorkshires and little carrots' sense - and all the better for it! Lemon meringue pudding was particularly wonderful, and the suggested wine pairings well thought out. Also always pleased to see non-alcoholic options in the cocktail section of the menu.
Service is the only thing that makes me stop short of the full 5 stars. It was a bit robotic (smiles and banter but no actual eye contact) and rather too long a wait for the starter and mains.
We were blown away by how great the food was for the price. The house red wine was delicious too. Will absolutely be visiting again
I always love this place. Food that is top notch, great value and quality of wine, a real foodie feast in the sub michellin category (though better than some one star restaurants!)
We had a great time
Excellent lunch again - food outstanding and wine list good value
Fantastic service, great meat, all around lovely!
We booked for Sunday lunch. Food was ok, wine was great, seating rather ucomfortable. I discovered this place when I bought a sandwich and some bread from their nextdoor shop, both of which were amazing.
The food was next level. The meat melted in your mouth. Can’t wait to go back!
The Quality Chop House offers first class cooking and top quality ingredients. They also have an admirable wine list. It is a great place to unwind outside the bustle of Soho and only a stone's throw from Exmouth Market. I would imagine that it would be a great venue post Saddlers Wells.
I have been here a few times. Food is always excellent. This time the service was very poor. Drinks delayed. We have to get the waitress attention a few times. No smiles in sight, grumpy faces and minimal interaction with customers. Disappointed.
Really disappointed with my latest experience with this restaurant. Had previously been in the summer and had only good things to say about it. We were ignored through the entirety of the meal - not offered any additional drinks or water top up. Dirty plates and glasses were left on our table far longer than they should have been. For example, empty cocktail glasses (which were consumed before starters) were not cleared until the bill came.
The chicken skewer snack came out late and had such a strong unpleasant taste that it effectively ruined the rest of the meal.
Staff also consistently sat other customers at a very closely situated table despite other tables being available. I would understand if the restaurant was full - it was not a busy night however.
Overall, the main course was excellent, but by that point the poor service and quality of the starter had ensured the evening was a disappointment. Will not be back at any time in the near future.
Had an upset stomach the next day. Not a 100% sure it was this place though!
An amazing discovery!! Enjoyed a lot the atmosphere and the superb food. Thank you!
We had a lovely lunch and the potatoes were great as always
Great spot. Amazing food, great service. Can't ask for more!
First visit to the QCH, and will not be the last.
What this means is that other restaurants will undoubtedly miss out on my custom.
Without a doubt the most impressive tip-to-tail cuisine - from pork, to pheasant to the vegetarian options (and I am pescetarian) - unmissable - after 10 years in London, I do not thing there is better quality and value and ambiance anywhere. Recommendations and gambles will work out equally well.
nice english food not pub food
Interior – stepping back in time, gloomy Victorian, yet cozy.
Food – just yummy. I loved lamb croquettes as a snack, then sprats were delicious. Salt baked celeriac was ok, but not my favourite. Both - Middle White chop and Angus mince on dripping toast were full of flavour, we both agreed that the chop was the winner out of the two. Ice cream and chocolate dessert complemented the meal nicely. There was a Birthday candle to blow and a Birthday card signed. It was a very good hearty lunch and the service was very good. If I don’t come back any time soon, I would definitely recommend it. Thank you.
Very good food as usual but these days I start finding it a bit over priced and service towards the end wasn’t at its best..
Excellent traditional English Sunday lunch. Roast lamb with pudding roast veg cabbage and a nice small beer and wine list.
Excellent meal, interesting menu. Could have chosen anything. Very enjoyable evening.
I brought my 13-year-old son here on the last day of our week-long visit to London (his first time), hoping to cap it off with a memorable meal and we were not disappointed. He's had a lot of steaks in his short number of years, including some from New York-based houses, but he quickly deemed Quality's rib eye the best he'd ever eaten. And stellar it was, incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned, flavored and cooked. The taste of the meat is unlike ones in New York too. The confit potatoes are something special as well and deserve mention. However, what I'd like to single out beyond the quality of the food itself -- and I must say absolutely nothing disappointed, including the delicious game tea and the jerusalem artichokes -- was the service and ambience. We had to change our reservation at the last minute, and then arrived about 45 min. before the newly-altered time and the staff was still gracious with us and managed to sit us. In addition, I marked this as "quiet" because we were able to hold conversations with each other at what I'd consider to be a normal level, and there was no blaring music drowning us out. Both of us like the ambience and decor as it had style but wasn't so overly styled as to make my more casually-minded son feel out of place. Also, the staff made him a delicious non-alcoholic version of one of their cocktails so he could enjoy a special beverage as well. I'll definitely return when I'm next in London, hopefully with full family in tow.
Very tasty robust meat based cooking . Their mince on toast is a must.
Anyone who has ever tasted the confit potatoes will know I need say nothing more. If you don't know what I mean, you have my sympathy but I recommend you book a table immediately. Everything else about this place is utter perfection but the confit potatoes are transcendent.
Friendly welcome and service, imaginative food well cooked and presented, charming in every way.
Firstly, the food was pretty darn good. We went for a Sunday Roast. 3 of us had the beef which was amongst the best Roasts we've had outside of home cooking. The only observation would be that we each only had two small slices of beef that each came with a large slice of fat. A third slice would have been very welcome. The beef itself, however, was cooked to perfection. Tender as anything, the quality of the cooking and produce was exceptional. One of us had the Roast pork.... Whilst the meat was well-cooked and flavoursome, there was next-to-no crackling, which did disappoint us - especially as we had asked about the crackling beforehand. Starters and puds were fine, but the main event was the clearly the Sunday Roast. Service was very friendly and personable. One of the waiters was clearly more experienced than the other which meant that the snacks we had ordered with our aperitifs did not come until said drinks had been despatched. More attention from the waiting staff would have been welcome. To be clear, however, this did not detract from a very good dining experience and we will definitely return.
The service was very poor. No attention details. Long waiting for food.
Great cookery and relaxed, minimal style service. Have the confit potatoes
The food never disappoints - it seems ridiculous to say this about somewhere where the meat cooking is immaculate but the potatoes are the MUST have menu item. The service is perfect -friendly, knowledgeable and unobtrusive.
Waiter was knowledgeable about menu and food was delicious
Amazing food. Great service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Everything was amazing but server did not ask how I wanted my steak done...
We had high hopes for this restaurant on account of the glowing review from Marina O'Loughlin, a reviewer who has never previously steered us wrong. Unfortunately, the "mince on dripping toast" which could, and should, have been wonderful, was made almost inedible by extreme over-salting. My husband's main, a pork chop served unadorned on the plate, was tasty but mostly fat. On the plus side, the staff were nice, and the pink fir apple potatoes were amazing. Puddings were acceptable but dull. I wished we had just gone back to Odette's.
I booked a table at The Quality Chop House for my partner’s Birthday. We arrive and guided to our table with a card on the table wishing him a happy birthday signed by the staff! Very nice gesture! He loved it!
Besides that I booked this restaurant because my partner loves meat! Outstanding quality and good service :)
elements that are amazing - the liver parfait was one of the best things i have eaten this year. The lamb croquette was beautiful. The roasts were fine, initially my pork serving was very meagre, tho it was delicious. They brought me out more when i complained, though it was a bit less toothsome than the initial piece. Roast potatoes were lacklustre, carrots and corn delicious. Staff are lovely.
Always love dinner at the quality chop house, the menu is small but varied and the quality of the meat is incredible. Waiting staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
Exceptional, as ever. Follow the leads of your server: they are knowledgeable, eager to please and hugely sympathetic. The food here is completely without fault.
